It has prompted fears that the so-called \u201cbig one\u201d could shortly hit California. https:\/\/www.breakingisraelnews.com\/112661\/69-major-earthquakes-hit-pacific\/<\/a><\/p>\n August 22, 2018<\/p>\n A HUGE 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Oregon on America’s West Coast today.<\/p>\n The quake, which registered 188 miles from the coastal city of Bandon, has sparked fears the so-called “Big One” could hit California any time now. …<\/p>\n The shake followed an intense week of seismic activity in which the deadly Ring of Fire was rocked by 70 quakes in just 48 hours.<\/p>\n A cluster of 16 “significant” movements,\u00a0all above magnitude 4.5, hit on Monday following 53 that shook the region along the disaster zone<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n They rattled Indonesia, Bolivia, Japan and Fiji but didn’t reach the\u00a0western coast of the US, which sits on the horseshoe-shaped Ring of Fire fault line. …<\/p>\n Experts have claimed California is overdue a large earthquake and shaking around the Ring of Fire could be a warning. https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/7073186\/oregon-earthquake-portland-bandon-lates\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n But not all the earthquakes have struck in the Pacific ‘Ring of Fire.’ Venezuela also has been hit:<\/p>\n The US Geological Survey reported that Tuesday’s quake had a depth of 76 miles (123 kilometers) and its epicenter was about 12 miles (20 kilometers) northwest of the Venezuelan city of Yaguaraparo.<\/p>\n The US Pacific Tsunami Warning Center warned that the deep earthquake could lead to small tsunami waves along the country’s coastline. 08\/21\/18 https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/venezuela-hit-by-magnitude-73-earthquake-buildings-evacuated\/a-45170183<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Jesus predicted earthquakes would be in places many did not expect:<\/p>\n 8 \u2026 And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be\u2026<\/strong>troubles<\/strong>. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)<\/p>\n 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming \u2014 in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning \u2014 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” (Mark 13:33-37)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Jesus listed earthquakes as one of the signs that precede the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:4-21; see also When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?<\/a>) and told His followers to watch.<\/p>\n And not just earthquakes, but great ones:<\/p>\n Officially, in the 21st century, a “great earthquake” is 8.0 or higher on the Richter scale and can totally destroy communities at its epicenter.<\/p>\n Places in the USA to watch which have massive danger potential include the New Madrid Fault, Yellowstone, Cascadia Subduction Zone, and the San Andreas Fault.<\/p>\n Of course, anywhere around the Pacific Ocean, which is sometimes called the Pacific Rim of Fire, is at risk. As are places like Iceland, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, the South Pacific, Australia, and even parts of Africa. As well as places in Latin America and the Caribbean, as the quake in Venezuela shows.<\/p>\n Yet, since Jesus mentioned earthquakes in diverse places, places people do not consider to be subject to earthquakes are also at major risk.<\/p>\n In California, many have wondered about “the big one.” Yes, California will be hit bad one day. But the really big one, the one prophesied in Revelation 16, will cause more damage than scientists have seriously considered:<\/p>\n 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. (Revelation 16:18-20)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Notice that the above earthquake is so big that the cities of the nations will fall. Mountains will be leveled and islands “fled away” (more on this can be found in the article Islands and Bible Prophecy<\/a>). This seems to be the biggest earthquake that will ever hit the planet with humans on it. Despite the view of ‘preterists’ that this already happened (see The Dangerous Rise of Preterists<\/a>), that is nonsense.<\/p>\n The earthquake of Revelation 16 will be bigger than what the usual “experts” have believed was possible. It will change the planet and humble parts of humanity.<\/p>\n If you survive you will be affected.<\/p>\n If you live near water or on an island, you will face terrors beyond what many have considered possible.<\/p>\n Let’s look again at something Jesus said, but with more of His words: <\/span><\/p>\n 11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven… 25 And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth<\/strong>, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory (Luke 21:11, 25-27).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Essentially, the Bible shows that there will be the greatest earthquake of all time that will level mountains, and this will be followed by the sea and the waves roaring. And if most of the frozen waters have melted by then, the height of these roaring waves apparently will be enough to destroy most who live on islands. <\/span><\/p>\n According to the Bible, these prophesies are certain to come to pass (Revelation 22:6). <\/span><\/p>\n Even those who do not live near water or mountains will be affected.<\/p>\n Modern conveniences will be disrupted and it will not be good.<\/p>\n Actually, it will take the intervention of God to insure that all do not die from this and other end time events:<\/p>\n As far as what you should do, Jesus<\/a> said:<\/p>\n 34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35<\/span> For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36) Watch, pray, and change your life so that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n Some items of possibly related interest may include:<\/em><\/p>\n Earthquakes Today and Bible Prophecy<\/a> This article goes over facts about earthquakes.
