In September, the Sanhedrin hosted the Creation Concert<\/a>, inviting all the nations of the world to come and praise God in Jerusalem. As part of the concert, the Sanhedrin invited the nations to establish a new international body based on the Bible. On hand were representatives from Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico who all signed a declaration of intent to play their prophetic role in helping Israel bring about the Third Temple. https:\/\/www.breakingisraelnews.com\/116040\/brazils-election-signal-first-stage-temple\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Before going further, let me state that the old Worldwide Church of God taught that those in Brazil were descendants of Tarshish & Tiras & Phut and many of those in Spanish-speaking South America were descendants of Tarshish (here is a link to a list: Countries and Their Biblical Names<\/a>).<\/p>\n That being said, no, I do not believe that the election of Jair Bolsonaro is the first stage in rebuilding a massive third Jewish temple in Jerusalem. Nor is it really a step related to that at all.<\/p>\n However, because of Donald Trump\u2019s decision related to moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem, some Protestants and Jews have felt that will make it easier for a \u2018Third Temple\u2019 to be built there and that Donald Trump is the biblical \u2018Cyrus\u2019 (see Donald Trump reportedly a \u2018Cyrus\u2019 preparing the way for a new Jewish temple<\/a>).<\/p>\n That view is not limited to certain Jews or Protestants.<\/p>\n After the initial Trump announcement, Alton \u201cDon\u201d Billingsley of the Church of God-Faithful Flock (CGFF) took out an advertisement in the 200th edition of The Journal: News of the Churches of God<\/em> related to this. Here are some of his claims:<\/p>\n Possibly as soon as 2018 or 2019, President Trump will follow the historical duality of King Cyrus, who made a proclamation that the second Temple would be rebuilt in the first year of his reign over Babylon. This was after the LORD stirred his spirit up to do it (Ezra 1:1). Jesus Christ will also stir up the spirit of President Trump to do the same before he leaves office in 2020. The way was paved for the Temple to be built when Jesus Christ stirred the mind of President Trump to move the Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. He fulfilled the promise he had made during his campaign to do it. And he did it in his first year in office as did King Cyrus in his first year. \u2026<\/p>\n President Trump has been made aware of his likeness to King Cyrus by the religious people in Israel. And Christ using his brashness and lack of fear of what anyone thinks of his decisions will stir up his mind at the exact time to make the proclamation. With his support, the Jewish people will begin the sacrificial offerings and laying the foundation for the new Temple. \u2026<\/p>\n Considering the hostility of the Arab nations and their threats of war, there are those who say this will be utterly impossible! There will be hostility against it from Congress and the Defense Department as well as from others. But to say this is impossible in view of their hostility and threats is to leave Jesus Christ out of the picture! Nothing is impossible with Him! Please remember His intervention at needed times can be seen throughout history. And the prophecy concerning the Temple will be fulfilled, for He will be behind it (Isaiah 46:8-10). \u2026<\/p>\n the need to make the needed changes in life to be protected from the awful things that are very near to all of us and be prepared for the coming of Jesus Christ. And seeing the building of the Third Temple should be a real wake-up call to that end! \u2026<\/p>\n Study your Bible together with this last unedited book Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong wrote, ISBN 0- 396-08773-6, and please wake up!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Note: Despite Don Billingsley referring to Isaiah 46:8-10, it says NOTHING ABOUT A TEMPLE TO BE BUILT. Here is what the Bible actually states:<\/p>\n Donald Billingsley has many prophetic misunderstandings.<\/p>\n Now, I have been aware that many Protestants have considered that Donald Trump was a type of modern Cyrus\u2013essentially a non-believer that God would use to do things. In Donald Trump\u2019s case, to reduce abortions, overturn the LGBTQ agenda, etc. Actually, in March of last year Donald Trump did attribute a quote to Cyrus the Great (see Donald \u2018Trump of God,\u2019 Cyrus, or Apocalyptic?<\/a>) which, at least in my view, he was trying to make the Cyrus connection that he must be aware that others have claimed him to be a type of. But I do not consider this to be a biblical Church of God position–but Alton Billingsley has a different view (see also CGFF claims Donald Trump is a \u2018Cyrus\u2019 who will lead to the \u2018Third Temple\u2019<\/a>). Many evangelicals believe that Donald Trump is ushering in the end times (watch Evangelical support for Donald Trump\u2019s Jerusalem policy<\/a>). Certain Jews have even put him on a commemorative coin with Cyrus (see Sanhedrin Mints Silver Half Shekel With Images of Trump and Cyrus: Is the \u2018third temple\u2019 necessary for a successful Trump presidency?<\/a>). Regular readers of this COGwriter Church of God News page are aware that I have written for years that Donald Trump was \u2018apocalyptic\u2019 (watch also Donald: \u2018Trump of God\u2019 or Apocalyptic?<\/a>). But that does not mean that Donald Trump is fulfilling a \u2018Cyrus\u2019 prophecy.<\/p>\n Since Alton Billingsley\u2019s advertisement referred people to a writing by the late Pastor General of the old Worldwide Church of God, Herbert W. Armstrong<\/a><\/span>, let us see some of what he wrote about the \u201ctemple\u201d in this age:<\/p>\n God made a prophecy in the third chapter of Malachy\u2026Continuing, \u201c\u2026shall suddenly come to His temple\u2026\u201d What kind of temple is He coming to? Are the Jews going to tear down the Dome of the Rock and build a new temple? Oh, no!\u2026 A holy temple! Christ is coming to His church! Christ is coming to His temple! Do we see that? The church is the temple. \u201c\u2026in whom ye are also builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.\u201d (Armstrong, Herbert W. Congress of Leading Ministers Hears Defined and Reemphasized Spiritual Organization of Church. Worldwide News, March 6, 1981, p. 10)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n \u201cAnd are built upon the foundation of the apostles [New Testament] and prophets [Old Testament], Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy TEMPLE in the Lord\u201d (verses 20-21). So God reveals here that the Church is: 1) the HOUSEHOLD or begotten FAMILY of God; 2) a building\u2014a HOLY TEMPLE\u2014fitly joined together\u2014that is, well organized (and, of course, on GOD\u2019S pattern). As a building\u2014the HOLY TEMPLE to which Christ will come\u2014it is built on a FIRM FOUNDATION: the apostles, chosen by Christ, and the prophets. \u2026<\/p>\n There has been much perplexity and discussion as to when the temple will be built to which Christ shall come. Malachi\u2019s prophecy speaks of Christ\u2019s second coming to His temple (Malachi 3:1-6). In Haggai\u2019s prophecy it is referred to prophetically. Zerubbabel has been sent as governor of a colony to build the second temple 70 years after the destruction of Solomon\u2019s temple. He built the temple to which Jesus came, though it had been enlarged and embellished by the Roman Herod. But speaking of this temple, as a type and forerunner of the temple to which Christ shall come at His second coming , it is written, \u201cThe glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the \u2018 Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts\u201d (Haggai 2:9).<\/p>\n It is inconceivable that the Israelis, in the present international turmoil over their possession of old Jerusalem, could ever demolish the Arab Moslem Dome of the Rock \u2013 now on the site of Solomon\u2019s temple-and build a new one there of greater splendor and glory than Solomon\u2019s! However, as the second temple Zerubbabel was building was a typical forerunner of the temple to which Christ shall come, even so Zerubbabel was the typical forerunner of one Christ would use in building the far more glorious temple to, which Christ shall come in His GLORY!<\/p>\n Zechariah 4:9 : \u201cThe hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it . . .. \u201d And as Zerubbabel\u2019s hands did<\/em> finish that second temple, so shall the one Christ uses in building the temple to which He shall come in His GLORY!<\/p>\n And the Church of God of the present day shall be a \u201cbuilding fitly framed together [and growing] unto an holy temple in the Lord\u201d (Ephesians 2:21). (Armstrong HW. 7 Proofs of God\u2019s True Church, Part 6. Plain Truth. August, 1979, p. 38)<\/p>\n Many of us are being tried and tested as NEVER BEFORE\u2013and for our own good! But, verse 11, \u201cfrom the time the daily sacrifice shall be taken away \u2026.Consider this a moment. This does NOT imply a material temple to be built in our time in Jerusalem. It does seem to imply the Israelis may restore the daily (twice daily) sacrifice\u2013possibly at the wailing wall. (Armstrong HW. The Time We Are In, Now. Pastor General\u2019s Report-Vol 1, No. 15, November 20, 1979, Page 2)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Various ones who profess Christ misunderstand about the temple in the church age. Christians are the temple of God according to the New Testament.<\/p>\n Alton Billingsley is not being faithful to the Bible nor the writings of the late Herbert W. Armstrong<\/a><\/span> as he often claims to be.<\/p>\n But the Brazilian election is NOT the “First Stage in Building the Third Temple.” No massive Jewish temple in Jerusalem needs to be built.<\/p>\n Now, that does not mean that a tent or small building to make animal sacrifices will not happen in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n These animal sacrifices will be resumed. And representatives of both the Temple Institute and the ‘Sanhedrin’ have directly informed me that they DO NOT NEED A MASSIVE TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM to perform animal sacrifices. They told me that they only require an altar, consistent with Ezra 3:6, to be able to sacrifice–and they already have that. But they said what they really need is political permission.
