The budget battle between the European Union and Italy may be easing up:<\/p>\n

MILAN: Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said Tuesday (Dec 4) that a revised draft budget to avoid excess deficit penalties from Brussels would be ready “in the coming hours”.<\/p>\n

“My objective is to avoid Italy being penalised in a way that hurts our country and risks also hurting Europe,” Conte told Italian daily Avvenire.<\/p>\n

“I’m finalising a proposal that the European Union will have to take into consideration. It will be ready in the coming hours.” …<\/p>\n

\n

If agreement is not reached, Italy could find itself the target of an excessive deficit procedure, which could ultimately lead to a sanction of up to 0.2 per cent of the nation’s GDP. \u00a0https:\/\/www.channelnewsasia.com\/news\/world\/italy-pm-says-new-budget-proposal–in-coming-hours—10995990<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Some are seeing events in Italy, France, and Eastern Europe as potentially catastrophic:<\/p>\n

Italy, the EU, and the Fall of the Roman Empire<\/h2>\n

The EU leadership is trying to contain a crisis that is emerging at increasing speed: this challenge comprises the rise of contumacious states (i.e. the UK, Poland, Hungary and Italy), or of defiant, historic \u2018cultural blocs\u2019 (i.e. Catalonia) \u2013 all of whom are explicitly disenchanted with the notion of some coerced convergence towards a uniform EU-administered \u2018order\u2019, with its austere monetary \u2018disciplines\u2019.\u00a0 …<\/p>\n

What is at stake precisely for the EU, is whether it can succeed to slow down, and curb in every way, the emergence of this process of cultural re-sovereigntisation, which of course, threatens to fragment the EU\u2019s vaunted \u2018solidarity\u2019, and to fragment its matrix of a perfectly regulated customs union and common trade area. …<\/p>\n

The EU has punished Greece for its profligacy \u2013 and is set to punish Italy if it flaunts EU fiscal rules. …<\/p>\n

Professor Michael Hudson … notes, \u201cthe Greeks and the Romans replaced the cyclical idea of time and societal renewal, with that of linear time\u201d [with convergence toward an \u2018End Time\u2019]: \u201cEconomic polarization became irreversible, not merely temporary\u201d \u2013 as the idea of renewal became lost. Hudson might have added that linear time, and the loss of the imperative of dismemberment and renewal, has played a major role in underpinning all of Europe\u2019s universalist projects of a linear itinerary towards human transformation (or, Utopianism).<\/p>\n

This is the essential contradiction: that ineluctable economic divarication and polarization is transforming Europe into a continent torn by unresolved internal contradiction. On the one hand it castigates Italy for its debts, and on the other, it has been the ECB which has pursued interest rate \u2018repression\u2019 into negative territory, and has monetized debt to the equivalence of one-third of Europe\u2019s global output. How can the EU not have expected banks and businesses\u00a0not\u00a0to have loaded up on \u2018positive-carry\u2019 debt? How can they have expected Banks\u00a0not\u00a0to have inflated their balance sheets with \u2018free debt\u2019 to the point of becoming \u2018too big to fail\u2019?<\/p>\n

The global explosion of debt is a macro problem that vastly transcends the microcosm of Italy. Like the ancient Roman Empire, the EU has atrophied in its \u2018order\u2019 to become an obstacle to change, and, with no alternative, but to hold tight to a \u2018braking action\u2019 that\u00a0will\u00a0ultimately produce effects, completely at odds to the original intent https:\/\/www.strategic-culture.org\/news\/2018\/12\/03\/italy-eu-and-fall-of-roman-empire.html<\/a><\/p>\n

Forget Brexit and Italian populists for a second. It\u2019s worth paying attention to what\u2019s going on in France. … If this movement snowballs like we\u2019ve seen in Italy with the Five Star Movement, Macron will have his hands full handling a crisis at home and have less time for the matters of the euro zone. After Greece, Brexit and Italy, this is another front that Europe didn\u2019t need. https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2018-12-03\/there-may-be-a-bigger-problem-than-brexit-or-italy-taking-stock-jp801n0b<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yes, the EU has issues.<\/p>\n

As far as France goes, it announced today a six-month suspension of a new diesel tax in an effort to quell the protests there, but many do not think that will stop them (see France suspends fuel tax, but protesters vow to fight on<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The Bible predicted that there would be problems with unity in Europe:<\/p>\n

41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter\u2019s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While the old Roman Empire as well as the so-called ‘Holy Roman Empire’ fell and appeared to die, Europe will rise up again as the Bible foretells. Even if the EU gets a “deadly wound’:<\/p>\n

1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. <\/span>2<\/span> Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. <\/span>3<\/span> And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. (Revelation 13:1-3)

2 Daniel spoke, saying, \u201cI saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea<\/strong>. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea<\/strong>, each different from the other. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle\u2019s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man\u2019s heart was given to it.\u00a0\u00a0 5 \u201cAnd suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: \u2018Arise, devour much flesh!\u2019\u00a0\u00a0 6 \u201cAfter this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.\u00a0 7 \u201cAfter this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.\u00a0 (Daniel 7:2-8)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The \u201cGreat Sea\u201d that bordered the ancient lands of Israel (Numbers 34:6-7; Joshua 1:4; 9:1; 23:4; Ezekiel 47:13-16) is the Mediterranean Sea–and that is the sea that Daniel was referring to. Despite some false claims by some, the Beast power is not a nation like Russia, which does not border the Mediterranean Sea, but Europe which does (Russia, however, will be a factor in eliminating the European beast power, see also The Eurasian Union, the Kings of the East, and Bible Prophecy<\/a>). A comparison of the beasts in Revelation 13 and Daniel 7 shows that they share many of the same characteristics (for some details, you may wish to watch the YouTube video Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Europe is the power that will control the \u201cGreat Sea.\u201d And while the southern border of the Mediterranean Sea is currently under Arab control, the Bible shows that the coming European<\/a> King of the North<\/a> will take over the Arab powers (Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:1-9).<\/p>\n

Whether or not the EU itself breaks-up, the Bible shows that Europe will reorganize and will essentially lose democracy:<\/p>\n

12 \u201cThe ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice something from the old Worldwide Church of God:<\/p>\n

Throughout the Middle Ages, leaders considered the Church at Rome to be God’s chosen instrument in spiritual matters. The Holy Roman Empire was regarded as God’s chosen political organization over Western Christendom. Pope and Emperor were regarded as God’s vice-regents on earth. This intimate alliance of Church and State served the needs of both institutions. The Empire exercised its political and military powers to defend religion and enforce internal submission through religious uniformity. The Church, in turn, acted as a glue for Europe, holding together the differing nationalities by the tie of common religion.<\/p>\n

This ideal in Church-State relations was never completely realized, as we have seen in the frequent conflicts between Emperors and Popes … numerous revivals of the Roman Empire have arisen in Europe in the centuries since the fall of ancient Rome.<\/p>\n

In Revelation 17, these revivals are represented by the seven heads of a wild animal. Six have already occurred, from Justinian to Mussolini. One last restoration of this great political system is yet to arise. This confederated Europe will be an immense political, military and economic power \u2014 a great Third Force in world affairs, a superpower in its own right. Prophecy further reveals that this powerful church-state union will be composed of “ten horns” \u2014 meaning 10 nations or groups of nations (Rev. l7:3) \u2014 under the overall leadership of a single political figure (verse 13). Europe will again have a single political head of state!<\/p>\n

Moreover, prophecy foretells that a religious figure of unprecedented power and authority will sit astride the “empire,” directing it as a rider guides a horse (Rev. 17:3). To counter the ongoing spread of atheism, secularism and consumerism, the Vatican \u2014 as in centuries past \u2014 will be forced to become a major power in the international arena. The political muscle of the Papacy will be reinvigorated. (Stump K. The History of Europe and the Church. Ambassador College Publications, 1984)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As far as popes go, Pope Francis does have a plan for a Roman Empire and it includes Europe.<\/p>\n

Pope Francis was given the 2016 ‘Charlemagne Prize’ (Pope Francis wins the \u2018Charlemagne Prize\u2019<\/a>)–a prize given to the one who is recognized for promoting the most European unity.<\/p>\n

The idea of a revived ‘Holy Roman Empire’ is not just some ‘pipe dream.’<\/p>\n

Desmond A. Birch, a Roman Catholic writer, has made the following observations:<\/p>\n

Several private prophecies of canonized Saints specifically state that there will be a latter restoration<\/em> of the Holy Roman Empire and that there will be at least one last Holy Roman Emperor. The authenticity of the authorship of such prophecies of canonized Saints (e.g., St. Hildegard, St. Vincent Ferrer, St. Francis of Paula, and St. John Vianney) at least over the last eight hundred years is scholastically unquestionable.<\/p>\n

The Great King will be crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the reigning Pope \u2026 (Birch, DA. Trial, Tribulation & Triumph: Before During and After Antichrist. Queenship Publishing Company, Goleta (CA), 1996, pp.281, 555)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Catholics expect that a pope will make someone the leader of the future \u2018Holy Roman Empire.\u2019 That leader, called the Great King above, is commonly referred to as the The Great Monarch<\/a><\/span> in Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox prophecies–but he shares many characteristics with an individual the Bible warns against (for some details, watch Great Monarch: Messiah or False Christ?<\/a><\/span> and Great Monarch in 50+ Beast Prophecies<\/a>).<\/p>\n

This will be a political-religious, church-state, alliance as the following show:<\/p>\n

11<\/span> Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. <\/span>12<\/span> And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. <\/span><\/div>\n
13<\/span> He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. <\/span>14<\/span> And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. <\/span>15<\/span> He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.<\/span> (Revelation 13:11-15)<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So, a political-religious alliance will happen and people will be forced to at least feign some type of false religion pushed by Europe.<\/p>\n

How will it end?<\/p>\n

Badly per Revelation 18.<\/p>\n

In particular, and even prior to that end, the Bible shows that it will not end well for Israel (Daniel 11:31), the USA & its Anglo-Saxon allies (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a><\/span>), the Islamic countries of the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43), or even Europe (Daniel 11:44). The Bible also shows that the supporters of the Beast will turn against the Church of the City of Seven Hills (Revelation 17:16-17).<\/p>\n

But despite that, many in Europe want some European empire (e.g. see Donald Trump lashes out against Europe defending itself\u2013Europeans pushing for an empire<\/a>) and some version will re-emerge as the Bible teaches.<\/p>\n
