A mystic rabbi suggested that an alarming spate of recent geyser activity in Yellowstone National Park may be the precursor to the pre-Messiah war of Gog and Magog.\u00a0 …<\/p>\n

After four years of total silence, the Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone National Park in northwest Wyoming came back to life on Saturday, shooting steam 200 feet into the air. Steamboat \u00a0is the largest in the world with eruptions reaching up to 400 feet. This latest eruption set a new record for the geyser of 30 eruptions in one year. …<\/p>\n

A correlation between geyser activity and earthquakes has not been proven, but some scientists believe that geological shifting may lead to increased geothermal events. The Yellowstone region has seen a period of increased earthquakes and swarms of minor tremors. In June 2017, the Wyoming area of Yellowstone was hit by a persistent swarm of approximately 2,400 tremors. \u00a0These swarms are continuing this year at a slightly lower rate.<\/p>\n

Rabbi Yekutiel Fish<\/a>, author of the Hebrew Torah blog, Sod HaChashmal, emphasized that forces of nature, such as earthquakes and volcanoes, are manifestations of God\u2019s judgement, denoted in the Bible by His name \u2018elohim.\u2019<\/i> The rabbi noted that the seismic aspect of God\u2019s influence in the world was explicitly described in Psalms.<\/p>\n

Therefore we are not afraid though the earth reels, though mountains topple into the sea. Its waters rage and foam; in its swell mountains quake. Selah. Psalms 46:3-4<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire world will be judged before the Moshiach (Messiah),\u201d Rabbi Fish told Breaking Israel News.<\/i> \u201cNature will change, be less normal, because God will be guiding it in a more direct manner.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will be especially true during the War of Gog and Magog<\/a>,\u201d he said. \u201cThe war will be unique in that it won\u2019t be simply a war between countries. God will play a major role via nature, through natural disasters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe verse in Psalms is clearly referring to tsunamis which will increase in the days preceding Messiah,\u201d Rabbi Fish said. But we also see that earthquakes will increase around the world.\u201d …<\/p>\n

In his weekly sermon last week, Rabbi Nir Ben Artzi predicted that all manners of natural catastrophes are going to increase in the coming year.<\/p>\n

\u201cGod will judge, \u2018who to life and who to death,\u2019\u201d Rabbi Ben Artzi said. He also predicted that international conflict will increase. \u201cThe heart of the king is in the hands of God,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In a previous sermon<\/a>, he explained why God uses nature in this manner.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople believe that nature just happens,\u201d Ben Artzi said. \u201cThat is a mistake we make because we don\u2019t always see or hear God. If God left the world solely in our hands it would have been destroyed a long time ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rabbi Fish emphasized that it is a mistake for men to think they can control nature.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only thing we can do is pray and do tshuva<\/i> (repent),\u201d Rabbi Fish said. \u201cBut these are the greatest acts a man can do. The Bible is clear that God controls the weather and various calamities, but wants people to heed His prophets:<\/p>\n

6\u2026 If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it?<\/p>\n

7 Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. (Amos 3:6-7)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Bible tells of weather-related blessings for obedience and weather-related curses for disobedience. Weather is not as random as many people seem to want to believe.<\/p>\n

As far as repentance goes, the Bible shows:<\/p>\n

30 God \u2026 commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And weather-problems are one tool that God uses to urge people to repent (cf. Haggai 2:17; Amos 4:7-12). But most will not. Nor will most Christians as they should (cf. Revelation 3:14-18; see also The Laodicean Church Era<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Most will ignore weather changes and simply believe that weather changes all the time and the changes do not have to do with God or disobeying His laws.<\/p>\n

As far as problems coming, Jesus warned about a time of earthquakes and troubles:<\/p>\n

8 \u2026 And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be\u2026<\/strong>troubles<\/strong>. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The beginning of sorrows is BEFORE the start of the Great Tribulation.<\/p>\n

A supervolcanic eruption such as one at Yellowstone or elsewhere could cause major \u201ctroubles,\u201d and truly impact the USA and Canada. An earthquake could trigger this. Volcanic eruptions spew out melted elements and can cause much destruction.<\/p>\n

Are supervolcanoes a real threat? <\/a><\/h3>\n

Are supervolcanoes, such as Yellowstone in the USA or various ones in New Zealand a real threat? If so, what type of threat? Are supervolcano issues consistent with biblical prophecies? If so, which ones? Could the eruption of a supervolcano make the USA, New Zealand, or other lands vulnerable to takeover in the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21<\/a>). Dr. Thiel answers these questions while standing atop a supervolcano in a geothermal area of Rotorua, New Zealand.<\/p>\n

For years (e.g. Weather Affected Fall of Rome, Will it Affect the USA\u2019s Fall?<\/a>), I have warned that the USA could be hit with a ‘perfect storm’ of events and disaster that could weaken it during the ‘beginning of sorrows’ so that it would be easier for it to be taken over at the start of the Great Tribulation. Now, we see that the space agency NASA sees Yellowstone as a serious risk. And while some will scoff and say that the probability is too low, less statistically ‘probable’ events have happened. Plus, because of the decline in morality in the USA, destructive events are going to hit it.<\/p>\n

Of course, it is not just North America that could be affected by supervolcanoes before the coming Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21).<\/p>\n

There are volcanoes in many parts of the world and nearly all can cause major problems. But as Yellowstone is in the USA, it would be those in the USA, and probably Canada, that would be the most affected by it should it erupt.<\/p>\n

Consider also what God inspired the Apostle Peter to write:<\/p>\n

1 Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.<\/p>\n

8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.<\/p>\n

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.<\/p>\n

14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation \u2014 as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.<\/p>\n

17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. (2 Peter 3:1-18).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Things will not remain as they have. Yellowstone could erupt.<\/p>\n

But is Yellowstone a sign that the Gog and Magog war of Ezekiel 38 is immenent?<\/p>\n

No.<\/p>\n

To prove this, let’s first look at the first 6 verses from Ezekiel 38:<\/p>\n

1 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 \u201cSon of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 and say, \u2018Thus says the Lord God: \u201cBehold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. 4 I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. 5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops \u2014 many people are with you.<\/p>\n

7 \u201cPrepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you; and be a guard for them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Verses 1-7 talk about a group getting ready to battle. Various nations such as Russia, Iran, Asians, and others are included here. This is for the Gog and Magog war Rabbi Fire was referring to.<\/p>\n

What does the Bible actually teach about the timing? Notice the next two verses from Ezekiel 38:<\/p>\n

8 After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. 9 You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Verses 8-9 refer to a regathering of Israel. Why do certain prophecy watchers say that it is for now?<\/p>\n

Because certain Protestants (and some Jews) believe that the creation of the nation of Israel in 1948 fulfills verse 8. Yet, this is not really the fulfillment for several reasons (watch also the video Israel, 1948, and Prophecy<\/a>).<\/p>\n

One reason is that even today most Jews do not live in the nation of Israel. The Jewish diaspora is scattered throughout the world. But the other reason is that many do not realize that there are multiple millions of the descendants of Israel that are not of the tribe of Judah. The Bible shows that Israel split into the kingdoms of Judah and Israel after the reign of Solomon and that later the ten tribes that were part of Israel (cf. 1 Kings 11:31,35; 12:16-17; 12:20-23) were carried into captivity (2 Kings 17:21-23). Those tribes represent hundreds of millions of people currently alive, and as there are less than 6,000,000 Jews in Israel, most simply have not been regathered (more information on the tribes of Israel is in the article Anglo \u2013 America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, pay close attention to the part of verse 8 about people dwelling safely. That is NOT the case in Israel today.<\/p>\n

Additionally, notice verses 10-13:<\/p>\n

10 \u2018Thus says the Lord God: \u201cOn that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: 11 You will say, \u2018I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates\u2019 \u2014 12 to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land. 13 Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, \u2018Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?\u2019\u201d\u2018<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Israel has its walls and \u201ciron dome\u201d and military weaponry. Notice that it is against a \u2018peaceful people\u2019 in unarmed villages that the prince of Rosh is going against. This cannot happen until AFTER the return of Jesus. Furthermore, there simply is not a plan to take a lot of gold and silver out of Israel right now by the power of the far north, nor does the current nation of Israel have enough of it to likely justify an attack for that purpose (unless perhaps some hidden gold\/silver mines or remaining treasure of David).<\/p>\n

Notice the following:<\/p>\n

Israel holds no gold reserves at all, according to a Bank of Israel spokesman.<\/span> (Kopf S. Jerusalem of Gold. Jerusalem Post, February 16, 2011. http:\/\/www.jpost.com\/Jerusalem-Report\/Israel\/Jerusalem-of-Gold viewed 07\/21\/14)<\/p>\n

Israel\u2019s Gold Reserves was reported at 0.00 USD mn in Jun 2018.\u00a0 https:\/\/www.ceicdata.com\/en\/indicator\/israel\/gold-reserves accessed 09\/07\/18<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to Index Mundi<\/em>, the nation of Israel was not among the top 48 producers of silver in the world, so its supply of this would also seem to be limited\u2013it also confirmed that Israel does not have gold reserves (though there is some gold and silver in coins, etc. in Israel). Israel in the early 21st century is NOT the target of Ezekiel 38.<\/p>\n

Notice also that Ezekiel was further inspired to write:<\/p>\n

14 \u201cTherefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, \u2018Thus says the Lord God: \u201cOn that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it? 15 Then you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army. 16 You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.\u201d (Ezekiel 38:1-17)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, a power from the far north, which would seem to have to be Russian-led as it is the only major military power in the far north now, and may be the only one also in the future, will come. But again, notice that this happens when Israel is dwelling safely.<\/p>\n

Notice the following observation by the old Worldwide Church of God:<\/p>\n

The events of Ezekiel 38 and 39 are without question still future \u2013 for the \u201clatter days\u201d (38: 16) and \u201clatter years\u201d (38:8). Moreover, Ezekiel 38:14 describes the time setting as being \u201cin that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely.\u201d This is certainly not the situation in the State of Israel to- day! The Israel described by Ezekiel is a nation that dwells in security, in unwalled villages, totally unprepared for war (38:8, 11, 14). (Southeast Asia in Prophecy. Ambassador College Press, 1985)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The tiny nation of Israel is not now a \u201cland of unwalled villages\u201d with \u201ca peaceful people who dwell safely\u201d (Ezekiel 38:10-11). We are not particularly close to the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38. Those who believe otherwise are in error.<\/p>\n
