While Africa usually gets relatively little coverage by the mainstream media, the European Union (EU), USA, Russia, and China all are interested in getting more influence there.<\/p>\n

Before getting to the EU, here is something about USA, Russia, and China from the American and German press:<\/p>\n

Facing increased competition for influence from China, the Trump administration unveiled a new strategy for Africa focused on commercial ties, counterterrorism, and better-targeted U.S. foreign aid. But it may be too little, too late. …<\/p>\n

Beijing spends far more money<\/a> in Africa than other countries do\u2014and with far fewer overt preconditions<\/a>. This absence of regulatory or political certainty deters other potential investors, including the United States.<\/p>\n

In their absence, China has built massive roads, dams, and railways in areas with little to no connectivity; signed lucrative contracts for raw materials with resource-rich governments; and kept mum about the terms of its loans, an obvious plus for corrupt leaders. Its money has had disastrous consequences for some countries. But in the absence of other significant players in Africa, Beijing is, for all intents and purposes, the only game in town. …<\/p>\n

China is hardly the only non-Western power in Africa\u2014though it is by far the largest player. Russia<\/a>, which Bolton also called out Thursday for trying to \u201cincrease its influence in the region through corrupt economic dealings,\u201d is making its own push, offering military contracts in exchange for mineral rights. Turkey<\/a> has expanded its diplomatic presence and trading, and also operates a military base in Somalia. The Arab states of the Gulf Cooperation Council have spent billions to bolster infrastructure on the continent.\u00a0 12\/13\/18 https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/international\/archive\/2018\/12\/trump-national-security-adviser-unveils-new-africa-strategy\/578140\/<\/a><\/p>\n

The US has a new strategy for Africa to counter China and Russia. …<\/p>\n

US National Security Advisor John Bolton (pictured above) said the priority would be to develop economic ties and create opportunities for American businesses in Africa, while protecting the continent’s independence along with Washington’s national security interests in Africa.<\/p>\n

The motivation: To counter the advantage the US’ “great-power competitors” China and Russia have secured on the continent, Bolton said. The strategy is to include a so-called “Prosper Africa” initiative to support US investors and the growing middle class across Africa. …<\/p>\n

n Johannesburg, political analyst William Gumede said the new US strategy for Africa, while necessary to avoid alienating Africans, is too little too late for Washington. But it does signal a major opportunity for the people of Africa, who must think strategically themselves.<\/p>\n

“Africans must now negotiate the best deal,” he said.<\/p>\n

“This time Africa must not say: ‘No, US, we are already dealing with China.’ Africa must say ‘US, give us the best deal.’ Africans must say we need education financing for infrastructure, we need technology \u2014 can we get it out of the US?” 12\/14\/18 https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/us-china-plus-russia-in-africa-will-it-mean-a-best-deal-for-africans\/a-46746025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And yes, China is increasing its influence, Russia wants more influence, and the USA is not thrilled with this. It is not likely that the USA would pour anything like the amount of funding into Africa like the Chinese have been doing.<\/p>\n

But what about Europe? Does it have any plans or intentions towards Africa?<\/p>\n

Consider that many migrants to Europe are African (see, for example, Africans Comprise a Large and Growing Share of Migrants to Europe<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Consider also that in his September 2018 ‘State of the European Union’ speech, European Commission (EC) President Jean-Claude Juncker said that the EU must \u201cbecome a more sovereign actor on the world stage.\u201d Regarding Africa, he proposed a, “trade deal with Africa, to attract more private investment to the continent and create up to 10 million jobs” (see Juncker\u2019s \u2018State of the European Union\u2019 address: Wants EU to be a real global player, including in Africa<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Basically, European Commission president Jean Claude Juncker wants the EU more united, more influential in Africa, wants the Euro to be the replacement currency for the USA dollar, wants stronger border enforcement, and wants the EU to be able to defend itself without the USA. Pretty much all of those things will happen according to biblical prophecies.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, notice the following which shows very strong European interest in Africa from at least one EU leader, who was once the Dutch defence minister:<\/p>\n

Named as the centre-left\u2019s candidate for the next EU Commission President, Frans Timmermans announced he would crush conservative governments in Europe, insisting that the continent uniting with Africa is \u201ca matter of destiny\u201d.<\/h2>\n

Timmermans, who currently sits as the Commission\u2019s first vice-president, was nominated<\/a> to lead the Party of European Socialists (PES) in next May\u2019s elections by delegates at the EU Parliament grouping\u2019s annual congress in Lisbon …<\/p>\n

Europe\u2019s relationship with Africa was another major priority Timmermans outlined in his speech, telling delegates to be \u201cunder no illusion \u2026 it is a matter of destiny\u201d that EU taxpayers eliminate the violence and poverty-plagued continent\u2019s problems or else welcome the \u201chundreds of millions of people\u201d from Nigeria alone who he has previously noted<\/a> will be heading to the bloc as a result of its \u201cdemographic explosion\u201d. …<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, whose fate is going to be dealt with by whom: Europe\u2019s fate by Africans, Africa\u2019s fate by Europeans. We are in this together. Our destinies are linked,\u201d he said, pledging to ensure developing the third world continent is \u201chigh on the agenda\u201d because its population \u2014 which is set to more than double to 2.2 billion by 2050 \u2014 \u201cis a common responsibility\u201d for the entire bloc. https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2018\/12\/11\/diverse-timmermans-nominated-eu-chief\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yes, Africa’s destiny is to be more closely tied with Europe, for a time.<\/p>\n

This is also consistent with history. In addition to European colonialism in Africa, understand that the old Roman Empire dominated not only the northern coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, but also the east and south\u2013the south are in Africa. That will happen again (cf. Daniel 11:40-43).<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that a lying deal will be made between the future King of the North<\/a> (a European-based power) and the King of the South<\/a> (a northern African\/Middle Eastern based power):<\/p>\n

27 Both these kings’ hearts shall be bent on evil, and they shall speak lies at the same table; but it shall not prosper, for the end will still be at the appointed time. (Daniel 11:27)
\n<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, the destiny of part of Africa is to be temporarily aligned with Europe. This will not end well for the Africans per Daniel 11:40-43. Nor according to the following:<\/p>\n

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says:<\/p>\n

“‘Wail and say,
\n“Alas for that day!”
\n3 For the day is near,
\nthe day of the LORD is near-
\na day of clouds,
\na time of doom for the nations.
\n4 A sword will come against Egypt,
\nand anguish will come upon Cush.
\nWhen the slain fall in Egypt,
\nher wealth will be carried away
\nand her foundations torn down.<\/p>\n

5 Cush and Put, Lydia and all Arabia, Libya and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.<\/p>\n

6 “‘This is what the LORD says:<\/p>\n

“‘The allies of Egypt will fall
\nand her proud strength will fail.
\nFrom Migdol to Aswan
\nthey will fall by the sword within her,
\ndeclares the Sovereign LORD.<\/p>\n

7 “‘They will be desolate
\namong desolate lands,
\nand their cities will lie
\namong ruined cities.
\n8 Then they will know that I am the LORD,
\nwhen I set fire to Egypt
\nand all her helpers are crushed.<\/p>\n

9 “‘On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt’s doom, for it is sure to come (Ezekiel 30:1-9, NIV).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The descendants of Cush, Put, Egypt, and Libya are African. More on northern Africa and the Middle East can be found in the article The Bible and the Arab World In History and Prophecy<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Prior to the actual rise of, and domination by, the Babylonian European Empire<\/a>, all of Africa will receive the witness of the gospel message–they will hear more about the Gospel of the Kingdom of God<\/a>. Notice what the Bible records:<\/p>\n

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The “end” being discussed above is the end of this church age, as the time of tribulation begins (see vs. 21) then. What this means for Africans (and all other peoples) is that they will have had a witness just prior to the tribulation. This witness will ultimately help them understand what really will be happening in the world and will set the stage for the ultimate conversion of nearly all African peoples.<\/p>\n

Sadly, at first, most will not be converted, but will instead when African and other peoples see the European Beast<\/a> power they will marvel:<\/p>\n

8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is (Revelation 17:8).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They will marvel because of the great wealth, because they did not think Europe would gain such prominence, and because its leadership will have performed various signs and wonders. The Bible shows that after the re-emerging European Empire<\/a> finally forms, that it will increase the prosperity to many nations. And to a degree, the leaders and merchants in Africa are likely to benefit from this prosperity:<\/p>\n

\n

3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury<\/strong> (Revelation 18:3).<\/p>\n

12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. (Revelation 18:12-13)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But this is not a wealth-bringing power to be trusted.<\/p>\n

Note the following:<\/p>\n

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved (2 Thessalonians 2:3-10).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Because of these actions, people throughout the world, including in the African world will (to some degree) worship a false European leader:<\/p>\n

Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:1-9).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And when you see these things coming to pass, while your nation may be deceived, you do not have to be.<\/p>\n

God will provide another witness to the entire world at that time:<\/p>\n

And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth… 7 Now when they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves (Revelation 11:3-4,7-9).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And although the above seems a little bleak, understand that people from many nations will have noticed the two witnesses (see also Who Are The Two Witnesses?<\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, many will understand the message of those witnesses and many will be called of God then:<\/p>\n

I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:9-10).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Those of Africa will certainly be among those of “all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues” who will have responded. And more will respond after they are resurrected from the dead<\/a>. Hence when you see the two witnesses rise up performing miracles and preaching against the future European Beast power<\/a>, you should resist. Did any of the apostles get to Africa? Have there long been Sabbath-keepers in Africa? Are there faithful Christians in Africa today? Does God want Africans called and taught? Should reaching Africans be despised or considered to be a fulfillment of going through doors that God opens? What about the day of small things?
