COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n The group calling itself Antifa (which stands for ‘Anti-fascist’) has been called out for being fascist:<\/p>\n Despite claims that Antifa fights fascism, the group’s tactics actually mirror those of Benito Mussolini’s regime.<\/em><\/p>\n Antifa, if you have not already guessed, is short for anti-fascism. Conduct a Google search, and you\u2019ll see Antifa oppose fascist ideologies, people, and groups.<\/p>\n This is part of the brilliance of Antifa. Unlike most fringe political groups, Antifa is not named\u00a0for\u00a0<\/em>something. Their name expresses opposition to an ideology, one that is at once vile and nebulous.<\/p>\n More than seven decades ago, the British writer George Orwell observed that the term fascism had lost any coherent meaning.<\/p>\n \u201cThe word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies \u2018something not desirable,\u2019\u201d Orwell wrote in his essay \u201cPolitics and the English Language<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Because of the ambiguous nature of the word, Antifa and other alt-left groups have been able to brand thinkers as diverse as\u00a0Charles Murray<\/a>,\u00a0Christina Hoff Sommers<\/a>,\u00a0Jordan B. Peterson<\/a>, and\u00a0Ben Shapiro<\/a>\u00a0as \u201cfascist.\u201d<\/p>\n Moreover, by branding themselves as \u201cantifascist,\u201d Antifa inoculate themselves from the criticism that usually is directed toward extremist groups. …<\/p>\n Antifa openly advocates and employs violence and intimidation. Like Mussolini\u2019s \u201cvanguard minorities,\u201d they dress in black garb (though Antifa members often also cover their faces) and use intimidation and violence to prevent political opponents from assembling. These tactics include\u00a0launching feces<\/a>\u00a0at law enforcement and\u00a0using<\/a>\u00a0bricks, bats, chains, and knives in their street wars.<\/p>\n The methods are ostensibly reserved for fascists, yet so many have shown a willingness to overlook the fact that Antifa is employing fascist tactics. Antifa is given a pass because labeling the other side as \u201cfascist\u201d automatically makes them \u201cgood,\u201d for they are the ones fighting against fascism. It\u2019s a brilliant rhetorical trick. As Chris Cuomo said in defense of Antifa on a carefully-worded\u00a0CNN<\/em>\u00a0segment in August, \u201cfighting against hate matters.\u201d<\/p>\n In a moral universe where the ends justify the means, using fascist tactics to fight fascists (or people deemed fascists) is entirely proper. The dangers of embracing the philosophy of violence, however, are severe. For as Solzhenitsyn observed, the first casualty of violence is the truth. 12\/23\/18 https:\/\/thefreethoughtproject.com\/antifa-fascism-police-state-debate\/<\/a><\/p>\n Two alleged Antifa activists accused of attacking a pair of Marines in Philadelphia were ordered to stand trial just after Christmas on aggravated assault and conspiracy charges following a dramatic day of testimony last week in which the Marines described being beaten and called ethnic slurs.<\/p>\n U.S. Marine Corps reservists\u00a0Alejandro Godinez and Luis Torres, dressed in their military uniforms, testified\u00a0Thursday against suspects Thomas Massey and Tom Keenan, who were allegedly part of a larger group of left-wing Antifa activists who began beating the Marines after mistaking them for participants in a November “We the People” rally in Old City. 12\/17\/18 https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/marines-testify-about-antifa-mob-they-say-attacked-them-in-philadelphia<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThe police are getting pushed from all sides,\u201d Ngo says. \u201cThe Right feels like the police allow anarchy to happen on the streets, and the Left says that the police are protecting the \u2018fascists.\u2019 The mayor\u2019s constituents are people who are sympathetic to Antifa. He\u2019s come out verbally very hard against the right-wing groups and has been inaccurate in his description of them, describing them as white supremacists, which I don\u2019t think is a fair description of Patriot Prayer or the Proud Boys. When it comes to Antifa, sometimes he condemns their violence \u2014 but never their ideology.\u201dMayor Wheeler did not avail himself of the opportunity to comment for this report. He did tell reporters after an earlier riot: \u201cThis is the story of Goldilocks and the two bears. The porridge is either too hot or it\u2019s too cold. At any given moment in this city, the police are criticized for being heavy-handed and intervening too quickly, or they\u2019re being criticized for being standoffish and not intervening quickly enough.\u201d Fair enough. If only Portland had some sort of city leader who in his official capacity might be relied upon to make such judgments and see them put into place through city policies. Perhaps an elected official something like what the Spanish call an alcalde<\/i>.<\/p>\n The problem is most dramatically on display in Portland, but it is hardly limited to the city \u201cwhere young people go to retire.\u201d Everywhere pointy-headed progressives are given unchallenged power, the same thing happens: Berkeley surrendered to political violence, too, along with Washington and other cities and practically every college campus.<\/p>\n Peter Beinart, writing in The Atlantic<\/i>, forthrightly described Antifa as a group of \u201cpeople preventing Republicans from safely assembling on the streets of Portland.\u201d And elsewhere, of course.<\/p>\n And in spite of the ridiculous rhetoric surrounding Antifa, this is very much a Democrats-vs.-Republicans issue. https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/magazine\/2018\/12\/31\/whose-streets-indeed\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n So, Antifa wants to stifle the press and force people to accept its views.<\/p>\n Well, that is a lot like fascism. The fact that it wants to also abolish capitalism (as one of its posters shows) demonstrates that it has problems with private ownership of property and businesses.<\/p>\n Notice something from Webster’s dictionary:<\/p>\n Antifa is autocratic and has repeatedly used forcible suppression of its opposition.<\/p>\n While people certainly should be free to protest racism, they should do so peaceably.<\/p>\n Violence, when it is supposed to be protesting racism, shows some of the hypocrisy of the Antifa movement–particularly when it was the press and police who were the main recipients of the violence.<\/p>\n Do the European Union, Democratic Socialists, and Antifa have the same New World Order Orwellian goal? Michael Snyder says that they do:<\/p>\n No matter how globalism is repackaged, it always smells the same way in the end. For decades, the globalists have subtly (or sometimes not so subtly) been moving us toward a world in which national borders have essentially been made meaningless. The ultimate goal, of course, is to merge all the nations of the world into a \u201cone world socialist utopia\u201d with a global government, a global economic system and even a global religion. The European Union is a model for what the elite hope to achieve eventually on a global scale. The individual nations still exist, but once inside the European Union you can travel wherever you want, economic rules have been standardized across the Union, and European institutions now have far more power than the national governments. Liberty and freedom have been greatly restricted for the \u201ccommon good\u201d, and a giant horde of nameless, faceless bureaucrats constantly micromanages the details of daily life down to the finest details. (Matthew 12:25)<\/p>\n 17 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. (Luke 11:17)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Consider also the following from the prophet Amos:<\/p>\n 9 \u2018Assemble on the mountains of Samaria; See great tumults in her midst, And the oppressed within her. 10 For they do not know to do right, \u2018Says the Lord, \u2018Who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.’\u201d (Amos 3:9-10)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The reference to Samaria is pointing to the USA (see also Spiritual Samaritans: Old and New<\/a>). The above is consistent with both civil unrest and terrorism. Expect more to hit the USA. Many of the right and left feel oppressed, they do not know how to do right, and they have stored up violence, and in ‘protests’ can display violence and robbery.<\/p>\n Violence, itself, often begets violence. So, sadly, we seem to be seeing more and more protests and terror.<\/p>\n The Bible warns:<\/p>\n 25 \u2026 There shall be terror within<\/strong> (Deuteronomy 32:25)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n There is violence in the USA. We are seeing increased civil unrest in the USA, including by groups like Antifa. We will see riots in the USA.<\/p>\n The Bible teaches:<\/p>\n 9 \u2018Thus says the Lord God: \u201cEnough, O princes of Israel! Remove violence and plundering, execute justice and righteousness (Ezekiel 45:9)<\/p>\n 9\u2026You shall love your neighbor as yourself.\u201d 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. (Romans 13:9-10)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n As far as violence goes, the Bible shows that God is against violence and that destruction will come because of it:<\/p>\n 23 \u2018Make a chain, 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting<\/strong>; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality\u202630\u2026violent<\/strong>, proud, boasters,\u202631\u2026unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them<\/strong>. (Romans 1:28-32)<\/p>\n 8\u2026And the violence of the land and the city, And of all who dwell in it. Personal repentance, however, is still possible.
