The ex-head of MI6 and former chief of defence staff have called on MPs to block the Prime Minister’s Withdrawal Agreement, warning it “threatens national security”.<\/p>\n

Sir Richard Dearlove and Lord Guthrie wrote to Conservative association chairmen, describing Theresa May’s deal as a “bad agreement” and accusing the EU of demanding a \u00a339 billion “ransom”.<\/p>\n

The letter, seen by the Daily Telegraph, states: “Your MP will shortly be called upon to support the Prime Minister’s Withdrawal Agreement. As a former chief of Secret Intelligence, with my colleague Lord Guthrie, who served as chief of the Defence Staff shortly before I was in charge of MI6, we are taking the unprecedented step of writing to advise and to warn you that this agreement, if not defeated, will threaten the national security of the country. Please ensure that your MP does not vote for this bad agreement.”<\/p>\n

Citing a letter Sir Richard and Maj Gen Julian Thompson, a Falklands war veteran, wrote to May on November 29, the pair claim the agreement “threatens to change our national security policy by binding us into new sets of EU-controlled relationships”.<\/p>\n

They add: “Buried in the agreement is the offer of a ‘new, deep and special relationship’ with the EU in defence, security and intelligence, which cuts across the three fundamentals of our national security policy: membership of Nato, our close bilateral defence and intelligence relationship with the US and the Five Eyes intelligence alliance.<\/p>\n

“The first duty of the state, above trade, is the security of its citizens.<\/p>\n

“The agreement abrogates this fundamental contract and would place control of aspects of our national security in foreign hands. Please ensure that your MP votes against this bad agreement and supports a sovereign Brexit on WTO rules, without payment of ransom.” https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/world\/news\/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=12189225<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This is interesting for several reasons, one of which is that these ex-UK officials are indicating that the European Union is a national security threat to the UK.<\/p>\n

And actually, it is.<\/p>\n

Some in the UK have referred to the current deal as a Brino–BRexit In Name Only–as it still subjects the UK to EU rules, etc. for an indeterminate amount of time, and it has “kicked the can down the street” regarding the border situation between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n

A vote in the UK Parliament is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15th.<\/p>\n

Now the UK, as well as New Zealand, are part of the Five Eyes alliance with the USA–and the EU officially wants that type of information sharing from the UK.<\/p>\n

The Five Eyes<\/b>, often abbreviated as FVEY<\/b>, is an intelligence<\/a> alliance comprising Australia<\/a>, Canada<\/a>, New Zealand<\/a>, the United Kingdom<\/a> and the United States<\/a>. These countries are parties to the multilateral UKUSA Agreement<\/a>, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence<\/a>.[1]<\/a><\/sup>[2]<\/a><\/sup>[3]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

The origins of the FVEY can be traced back to the post\u2013World War II<\/a> period, when the Atlantic Charter<\/a> was issued by the Allies<\/a> to lay out their goals for a post-war world. During the course of the Cold War<\/a>, the ECHELON<\/a> surveillance system was initially developed by the FVEY to monitor the communications of the former Soviet Union<\/a> and the Eastern Bloc<\/a>, although it is now used to monitor billions of private communications worldwide.[4]<\/a><\/sup>[5]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

In the late 1990s, the existence of ECHELON was disclosed to the public, triggering a major debate in the European Parliament<\/a> and, to a lesser extent, the United States Congress<\/a>. As part of efforts in the ongoing War on Terror<\/a> since 2001, the FVEY further expanded their surveillance capabilities, with much emphasis placed on monitoring the World Wide Web<\/a>. The former NSA contractor Edward Snowden<\/a> described the Five Eyes as a \u201csupra-national<\/a> intelligence organisation that does not answer to the known laws of its own countries\u201d.[6]<\/a><\/sup> Documents leaked by Snowden in 2013 revealed that the FVEY have been spying on one another\u2019s citizens and sharing the collected information with each other in order to circumvent restrictive domestic regulations<\/a> on surveillance of citizens.[7]<\/a><\/sup>[8]<\/a><\/sup>[9]<\/a><\/sup>[10]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

Since processed intelligence is gathered from multiple sources, the intelligence shared is not restricted to signals intelligence<\/a> (SIGINT) and often involves defence intelligence<\/a> as well as human intelligence<\/a> (HUMINT) and geospatial intelligence<\/a> (GEOINT). Some in the UK and elsewhere seem to believe (correctly) that the Europeans will get access to intelligence that they will use to threaten security of one or more of the Five Eyes’ members.<\/p>\n

And that is correct.<\/p>\n

That will happen.<\/p>\n

And this is not actually a new concern.<\/p>\n

The USA and UK have long been concerned about threats that the continental Europeans may pose–but they have often compromised.<\/p>\n

Over five years ago, because the Snowden leaks had information about the Five Eyes that offended the Europeans, including the Germans, notice something the Financial Times<\/em> reported:<\/p>\n

Confronted with European fury at US spying<\/a>, Washington is divided over whether its allies\u2019 anger is genuine or a calculation that they can use the revelations to change the terms of intelligence sharing and targeting\u2026.<\/p>\n

Underlying the debate over Ms Merkel are longstanding and deep tensions over intelligence sharing between the US and European nations such as Germany and France.<\/p>\n

The US has for decades, and with few interruptions, shared intelligence with four other countries, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, under the so-called \u201cfive eyes\u201d agreement<\/a> which includes a proviso that they do not spy on each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cGermany and France have long resented this special relationship in intelligence,\u201d said Tim Naftali, of the New America Foundation. \u201cBut the question is whether [France and Germany] would be able to accept the co-ordination of their foreign policies that comes along with the agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n

So, now the USA IS sharing more espionage information with Germany and France.<\/p>\n

This will not end well for the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand.<\/p>\n

The reality is that the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are considered to be more trustworthy as far as the USA goes than continental Europe\u2013but now the USA has decided to share more with others like Germany.<\/p>\n

Now, this IS consistent with something former US President Barack Obama reportedly stated as, according to a German source (the following was machine-translated into English from German), the USA will give the Europeans a lot of information:<\/p>\n

This basically was confirmed by US Secretary of State John Kerry in November 2013:<\/p>\n

Kerry says the Obama administration welcomes the opportunity to discuss concerns raised by the disclosure of U.S. eavesdropping as Washington and its European allies are all trying to balance the protection and privacy of their citizens.<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately if we get it right, which we will, we can not only alleviate concerns but we can actually strengthen our intelligence relationships going forward, and we can all be more secure and safer as a result as well as protecting the privacy of citizens,\u201d he said.\u00a0 http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/content\/kerry-us-to-work-closely-with-allies-over-surveillance-concerns\/1783733.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is not \u2018intelligence strengthening\u2019\u2013the Europeans were very angry\u2013this was appeasement. The Europeans are now also very angry at US President Trump.<\/p>\n

So now the USA is now \u2018sharing\u2019 more intelligence with the Germans and other Europeans. And some UK Leaders are now concerned about what they will have to share with the EU.<\/p>\n

The ramifications of this are staggering. Appeasement does not have a great track record in preventing wars as those who followed Nevil Chamberlain will remember. But appeasement is part of what the USA appears to be trying to do.<\/p>\n

The statements from US Secretary of State Kerry, as well as the Reuters\u2019 report, provide further support of my assessment that the USA will help Europe by giving it strategic advantages against the USA and UK when someone there decides war against them needs to happen (Isaiah 10:5-11). This will not bode well for the USA in the long run\u2013this sharing of intelligence will help the coming European Beast power takeover the land that had the strongest military\/fortresses in the world (cf. Daniel 11:39). These ‘intelligence’ matters are that important.<\/p>\n

Yet few Americans consider that any real threat will come from Germany and Europe. But according to biblical prophecy the final Beast power (Revelation 13; Daniel 11) will arise in Europe, and this will result in the takeover of the USA and its Anglo-descended allies (cf. Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n

And as far as Europe and the military goes, it has taken steps to develop its multi-national military called PESCO as reported on this COGwriter Church of God News (see PESCO: The making of a European Defence Union<\/a> and \u2018PESCO is not about peace, it is about preparing for EU wars\u2019<\/a> and With PESCO, EU entering a \u2018New Era\u2019: An era that will NOT end well for the USA, Canada, or the UK<\/a>).<\/p>\n

PESCO and a Great European Army<\/a><\/h3>\n

In November 2018, French President Macron called for a \u201ctrue European army\u201d because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted \u201ca very strong Europe.\u201d Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as \u201cmy friend\u201d and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe\u2019s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with \u201ca great army\u201d? Has Donald Trump\u2019s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? Is the idea of a United States of Europe and a European army a \u201cparanoid fantasy\u201d or a biblical reality? Will the USA regret Europe becoming a stronger military power? Will the USA be betrayed by \u201cfriends\u201d such as its continental European allies? Does the Bible teach any or all of this? Furthermore, Europe\u2019s Galileo satellite system plans initially had US (and UK) critics as there were \u201cearly objections from the Americans who thought a rival system to GPS might be used to attack its armed forces\u201d (Amos J. EU awards Galileo satellite-navigation contracts. BBC, Jan 7, 2010. http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/science\/nature\/8442090.stm<\/a>). So when Galileo was first proposed, American leaders opposed it as they felt it could be used militarily against the USA.<\/p>\n

Notice also a letter from the then U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz in which he was part of a campaign against Europe developing Galileo:<\/a><\/p>\n

But this opposition was reversed by the Obama Administration.<\/p>\n

This, as I reported at the time (see USA GPS and EU Galileo linking was expected<\/a>), was dangerous, and remains so. But I expected it, and so warned about it in a book I wrote in 2009. Notice that page 85 of that book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect<\/strong><\/em> states the following:<\/p>\n

In 2013, the Europeans are planning on having their own global positioning system (GPS), called Galileo, available for military applications. This will allow the Europeans to track the world and attack others without relying on the U.S.A.\u2019s GPS. This will be the first time in the 21st<\/sup> century that Europeans will be able to have that type of independent military capability.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, according to a 2009 report from the U.S. government, the U.S. Air Force may have to start relying on the European Galileo system (at least to a degree) beginning in 2013, as the U.S. GPS capabilities are expected to deteriorate by then (other problems are also appearing in the newer U.S. satellites). Because the Europeans will be able to control Galileo, they will also likely be capable of derailing certain sophisticated U.S. military applications. This will give the Europeans a unique defensive (as well as offensive) capability that no others on the planet will have.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When I wrote that in May of 2009, the U.S. Air Force denied that there was such a problem. Yet, in late July 2010, the USA did announce it would rely on Galileo for part of its military defense (see USA GPS and EU Galileo linking was expected<\/a>). Galileo was partially operational in 2013 and is getting more operational as it moves forward.<\/p>\n

Though lawmakers have made clear their interest in having U.S. military receivers incorporate European navigation signals, an agreement to use the encrypted Galileo signal remains elusive and the normal military requirements process could substantially delay implementation. http:\/\/insidegnss.com\/delay-continues-for-effort-to-add-galileo-signal-to-u-s-military-receivers\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It will only be a few years before the USA will not have the lead in this type of technology. And while some believe that the USA will overcome this, the reality is that the Europeans may decide to take advantage of their lead once they have it.<\/p>\n

The Galileo and PESCO projects are absolute proof that Europe wants to function independently of the USA and UK and wants to be ahead of it technologically. Steps for this continue to take place.<\/p>\n

The two major world leaders, who were not in the UK, that backed the Brexit vote were the USA’s Donald Trump (then a candidate for the President of the United States) and Marine Le Pen (currently a political figure in France).<\/p>\n

The time of Jacob\u2019s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7), also known as the Great Tribulation, is coming. The UK will be affected by it.<\/p>\n

The UK itself will one day be taken over by a European power (Daniel 8:24-25)–as will the USA (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Yet that will not be this year, next year, nor during the first term of the Donald Trump Administration. But events, like the Brexit situation, are setting the stage for this to ultimately happen.<\/p>\n
