French President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday\u00a0signed a new friendship treaty<\/a> that is designed to deepen the Franco-German friendship, bring\u00a0ties to a “new level” and improve the lives of citizens in both countries.<\/p>\n

The treaty was signed in the German city of Aachen<\/a>, as France and Germany\u00a0marked the 56th anniversary of the Elysee Treaty<\/a>. …<\/p>\n

In the new joint 16-page declaration, Merkel and Macron have addressed initiatives in various policy areas. The renewed pact includes plans to extend exchange programs for citizens of both countries and intensify cooperation in European, foreign and security policies. It also pledges stronger economic integration, which includes coordinated environmental and climate policies. Refugee policies, however, have not been specifically addressed.<\/p>\n

The German Bundestag and the French National Assembly have also passed resolutions demanding closer cooperation between both countries. This includes concrete examples that are now to be implemented, ranging from joint vocational training centers to a Franco-German center for artificial intelligence. …<\/p>\n

But what does the Bible teach about the future of Europe? Is European unity the answer or will it usher in something worse than Adolph Hitler? Billionaire Elon Musk declared he was worried that artificial intelligence (AI) may lead to the rise of an \u201cimmortal dictator,\u201d a \u201cgodlike\u201d entity that could take over the world. Is this accurate, or at least, close in some ways? Does Bible prophecy foretell of the rise of an immoral leader who considers himself above all gods? Will this result in great destruction? In 2016, the journal of Science published a paper that claims that crowdsourcing and artificial intelligence was the best way to deal with complex \u201cwicked problems\u201d like disease and climate change facing humanity. What the Aachen Treaty says:<\/p>\n

Security\u00a0<\/strong>The two countries will “deepen their cooperation in foreign policy and internal and external defense.”<\/p>\n

They commit to “providing aid and assistance by all means at their disposal, including armed forces, in case of aggression against their territory.”<\/p>\n

A Franco-German Defense and Security Council would be established as the political body directing these reciprocal engagements.\u00a0The aim, Merkel said, is to build a “common military culture” that “contributes to the creation of a European army.” https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/whats-in-the-franco-german-treaty-of-aachen\/a-47178247<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

PESCO and a Great European Army<\/a><\/h3>\n

In November 2018, French President Macron called for a \u201ctrue European army\u201d because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted \u201ca very strong Europe.\u201d Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as \u201cmy friend\u201d and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe\u2019s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with \u201ca great army\u201d? Has Donald Trump\u2019s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? Is the idea of a United States of Europe and a European army a \u201cparanoid fantasy\u201d or a biblical reality? Will the USA regret Europe becoming a stronger military power? Will the USA be betrayed by \u201cfriends\u201d such as its continental European allies? Does the Bible teach any or all of this? Notice that the Bible shows that Europe will end up with a massive army and will destroy many nations:<\/p>\n

Europe is prophesied to become a military power and destroy nations including the USA, UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and others.<\/p>\n

Emmanuel Macron, himself, received the Charlemagne Prize for promoting European unity (see France\u2019s President Macron receives the Charlemagne Prize and Germany\u2019s Chancellor says Europe cannot rely on USA military \u2014 What are the prophetic ramifications?<\/a>). He and Angela Merkel want a stronger Europe. The prophetic reality is that Europe will turn into a militaristic dictatorship (Daniel 11:36-38; Revelation 13).<\/p>\n

For a time, Europe will end up with a stronger military and a “great army” (Daniel 11:25) and international dominance (cf. Revelation 18). So, President Macron and Chancellor Merkel will get some of what they have wanted.<\/p>\n

But Europe will end up with the Beast, which is something people like Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel have not seriously considered.<\/p>\n
