The Pope And Islam\u2019s Most Important Imam Just Signed A Covenant That Pushes Us Much Closer To A One World Religion<\/h2>\n

A historic interfaith covenant was signed in the Middle East on Monday, and the mainstream media in the United States has been almost entirely silent about it.\u00a0 Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb is considered to be the most important imam in Sunni Islam, and he arrived at the signing ceremony in Abu Dhabi with Pope Francis \u201chand-in-hand in a symbol of interfaith brotherhood\u201d<\/a>.\u00a0 But this wasn\u2019t just a ceremony for Catholics and Muslims.\u00a0 According to a British news source<\/a>, the signing of this covenant was done \u201cin front of a global audience of religious leaders from Christianity, Islam, Judaism and other faiths\u201d\u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In other words, there was a concerted effort to make sure that all of the religions of the world were represented at this gathering.<\/p>\n

According to the official Vatican website<\/a>, a tremendous amount of preparation went in to the drafting of this document, and it encourages believers from all religions \u201cto shake hands, embrace one another, kiss one another, and even pray\u201d with one another\u2026<\/p>\n

The document, signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb, was prepared \u201cwith much reflection and prayer\u201d, the Pope said. The one great danger at this moment, he continued, is \u201cdestruction, war, hatred between us.\u201d \u201cIf we believers are not able to shake hands, embrace one another, kiss one another, and even pray, our faith will be defeated\u201d, he said. The Pope explained that the document \u201cis born of faith in God who is the Father of all and the Father of peace; it condemns all destruction, all terrorism, from the first terrorism in history, that of Cain.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There is a lot of language about peace in this document, but it goes way beyond just advocating for peace.<\/p>\n

Over and over again, the word \u201cGod\u201d is used to simultaneously identify Allah and the God of Christianity. …<\/p>\n

The United Arab Emirates has been seen by many as a model of peaceful coexistence among religions and cultures, despite limitations. They have proclaimed 2019 the Year of Tolerance, instituted a Ministry of Tolerance, renamed the Grand Mosque to be called \u2018Mary, Mother of Jesus\u2019 Grand Mosque (an initiative called for by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi himself), and promoted initiatives to help Hindus and other faiths. https:\/\/zenit.org\/articles\/uae-feature-an-inside-look-at-1st-trip-of-a-pope-to-arabian-peninsula-full-of-historic-1sts-traveled-by-zenit-on-the-papal-flight-2\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, we see an Arab leader meeting with the head of the Vatican and making a deal. We see doctrinal compromises. Some have called these type of moves ‘Chrislam.’<\/p>\n

Calling for a new social pact, the World Council of Churches (WCC) General Secretary, the Rev Dr Olav Fykse Tveit urged an international, interreligious conference in Abu-Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to use their religious influence and institutions to nurture tolerance and respect through the transcendent value and concrete practices of love.<\/p>\n

Organised by the Muslim Council of Elders, the Global Conference on Human Fraternity on 3-4 February convened prominent international religious, intellectual and media personalities from a variety of religious traditions and included, along with Tveit, Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr Ahmad Al-Tayyeb. …<\/p>\n

The World Council of Churches promotes Christian unity in faith, witness and service for a just and peaceful world. An ecumenical fellowship of churches founded in 1948, by the end of 2012 the WCC had 345 member churches representing more than 500 million Christians from Protestant, Orthodox, Anglican and other traditions in over 110 countries. The WCC works cooperatively with the Roman Catholic Church. 02\/05\/19 http:\/\/www.ekklesia.co.uk\/node\/27672<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The WCC has a history full of doctrinal compromise.<\/p>\n

As far as doctrine goes, consider that Jesus said:<\/p>\n

\n

23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24)<\/p>\n

16 … My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. 17 If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. (John 7:16-17)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Doctrines, meaning teachings, are important. True ones are what true worshipers hold to. The true God of the Bible and what the Vatican and Islam are pushing are not the same.<\/p>\n

The interfaith agenda and teachings bring the following words Jesus cited to mind:<\/p>\n

\n

“Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? … 6 … you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. 7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:<\/p>\n

8 “These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
\nAnd honor Me with their lips,
\nBut their heart is far from Me.
\n9 And in vain they worship Me,
\nTeaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'” (Matthew 15:3, 6-9)<\/p>\n

1 Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil. (Ecclesiastes 5:1)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Just because religious leaders indicate things are the same or fine, does not mean that the Bible endorses human doctrines.<\/p>\n

Long time readers of this COGwriter Church of God News page are aware that I have written for years that some type of temporary deal will be struck between an Arab leader with ties to Islam. For example, I wrote the following that was published in 2009:<\/p>\n

People often believe what they see through their own eyes. And different signs and wonders may affect various people. For example, while many of those in Islam are apparently going to be misled for a shorter time than almost any one else (as they are to be the first major power to turn on the Beast per Daniel 11:40-43), they too will, at least slightly, accept some agreement with the ecumenical movement (for a very short while). …<\/p>\n

Asians and some Muslims accept the ecumenical religion. Some will consider this as a time of peace. Heretics and opponents are rendered inconsequential. Revelation 13:3\u20138 Jeremiah 6:14\u201315a …<\/p>\n

As Islam is opposed to icons, and especially any type of cross as a symbol (the Crusaders invaded them centuries ago), Muslims will strongly question where all of this is leading. (Thiel B. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect<\/a><\/span><\/span>. Nazarene Books, 2009)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But as I also wrote, in 2009 and 2012, this will only be temporary:<\/p>\n

Based upon sacred scripture (Daniel 11:40), the religious fervor that is often present in the Islamic world, and the pagan connection to female apparitions, I suspect that any close \u201csemi-ecumenical\u201d alliance with the majority of the Muslims will be very short-lived. The Bible tells of a time when the final \u201cKing of the South\u201d (a Caliphate-type leader of a likely Islamic confederation, who some may consider to be the Imam Mahdi617) will make a deal with the final European \u201cKing of the North\u201d (Daniel 11:27), but later attack the King of the North (Daniel 11:40). Some countries, like Turkey (ancient Edom) will apparently end up supporting the Europeans (Daniel 11:25-26, 41). A great Islamic leader (the Mahdi) will push at the land of the crusaders. Daniel 11:40 (Thiel B. Fatima Shock!<\/em> What the Vatican Does Not Want You to Know About Fatima, Dogmas of Mary, and Future Apparitions.<\/a> Nazarene Books, 2012)<\/p>\n

The distrust of the proclamations by the \u201ccrusaders,\u201d combined with the prevalence of crosses being displayed, may be part of what triggers the prophesied attack from the Islamic King of the South. … Increasing displays of crosses, combined with people following wonders (such as perhaps including apparitions claiming to be Mary), will get many in the Arab lands to remember the crusades. Enough will hold to some version of Islam that they will fear an attack must be made or Islam will be defeated. (Thiel B. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect<\/a><\/span><\/span>. Nazarene Books, 2009)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Most of the media do not understand that or where it will lead.<\/p>\n

Temporarily it will lead to a peace deal (Daniel 9:27) which will be broken (see also The \u2018Peace Deal\u2019 of Daniel 9:27<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Ultimately, it will lead to the destruction of the USA and then many Islamic nations:<\/p>\n

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. 40 At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. (Daniel 11:39-42, NKJV).<\/p>\n

43 and he hath ruled over treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the desirable things of Egypt, and Lubim and Cushim are at his steps. (Daniel 11:43, Young\u2019s literal translation)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says:<\/p>\n

“‘Wail and say, “Alas for that day!” 3 For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near- a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations. 4 A sword will come against Egypt, and anguish will come upon Cush. When the slain fall in Egypt, her wealth will be carried away and her foundations torn down. <\/strong><\/p>\n

5 Cush and Put, Lydia and all Arabia, Libya and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt. <\/strong><\/p>\n

6 “‘This is what the LORD says:<\/p>\n

“‘The allies of Egypt will fall and her proud strength will fail. From Migdol to Aswan they will fall by the sword within her, declares the Sovereign LORD. 7 “‘They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities. 8 Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I set fire to Egypt and all her helpers are crushed.<\/p>\n

9 “‘On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt’s doom, for it is sure to come (Ezekiel 30:1-9, NIV).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The “strongest fortresses” in the 21st century belong to the USA–and it will be defeated by a European power that will then battle against many peoples who are now Islamic. So in essence, we will see that the peace deal–which the interfaith movement may well assist in getting to happen–will ultimately lead to the Great Tribulation (watch also Daniel 9:27 and the Start of the Great Tribulation<\/a>.).<\/p>\n

As I have written for years, the situation in the Middle East and North Africa must change for various biblical prophecies to be fulfilled.<\/p>\n

The Bible opposes the interfaith agenda::<\/p>\n

\n
14<\/span> Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? <\/span>15<\/span> And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? <\/span>16<\/span> And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cI will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.\u201d <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
17<\/span> Therefore <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cCome out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.\u201d (2 Corinthians 6:14-17)
\n<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Real Christians are NOT to support the interfaith plans.<\/p>\n

Notice also:<\/p>\n

2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” (Revelation 18:2-3)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice a warning about what will happen from a Roman Catholic accepted translation of the Bible:<\/p>\n

Scripture warns against a coming ecumenical unity–Satan the devil’s unity–which it teaches will be successful:<\/p>\n

4 They prostrated themselves in front of the dragon because he had given the beast his authority; and they prostrated themselves in front of the beast, saying, ‘Who can compare with the beast? Who can fight against it?’ 5 The beast was allowed to mouth its boasts and blasphemies and to be active for forty-two months; 6 and it mouthed its blasphemies against God, against his name, his heavenly Tent and all those who are sheltered there. 7 It was allowed to make war against the saints and conquer them, and given power over every race, people, language and nation; 8 and all people of the world will worship it, that is, everybody whose name has not been written down since the foundation of the world in the sacrificial Lamb’s book of life. 9 Let anyone who can hear, listen: 10 Those for captivity to captivity; those for death by the sword to death by the sword. This is why the saints must have perseverance and faith. (Revelation 13:4-10, NJB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The ‘dragon’ listed above is Satan, the devil (cf. Revelation 12:9, 20:2). Here is something from the late Herbert W. Armstrong<\/a> on the coming worship:<\/p>\n

Notice a Bible definition of worship in Rev. 13:4 “how men worship the “beast” \u2014 the Roman Empire \u2014 by saying, “Who is like unto the Roman Empire? Who is able to make war with it?” Such words constitute worship \u2014 “and they worshipped the beast.” (Armstrong HW. The Mystery of MELCHIZEDEK Solved!. Plain Truth, June 1956)<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While the World Council of Churches (WCC), UN, and Vatican do not realize it, they will turn their support to the Beast of Revelation (Revelation 13:8) and that will end up destroying the city of seven hills:<\/p>\n

\n
15<\/span> Then he said to me, \u201cThe waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. <\/span><\/div>\n
16<\/span> And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. <\/span><\/div>\n
17<\/span> For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. <\/span><\/div>\n
18<\/span> And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth. (<\/span>Revelation 17:15-18).<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Do not support the agenda of the WCC and the Vatican. It is prophesied to ultimately fail.<\/p>\n

17<\/span> And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:17)
\n<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While nearly all would deny it, the reality is that the WCC, the Vatican, certain other religious leaders, and the United Nations are actually working to set up alliances that will one day fight against Jesus! But they do not see it as they seem to have much more of a political agenda than a Bible believing agenda.<\/p>\n

As Jesus taught in Matthew 6:10, pray for the Kingdom of God<\/a> to come.<\/p>\n

Properly understood biblical prophecies are coming to pass.<\/p>\n
