COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Apparently, like CGPFK’s<\/a> Ronald Weinland did in November 2009, PCG’s<\/a> Gerald Flurry has declared himself to be an apostle in November 2010.\u00a0 Here is what he wrote recently (11\/08\/10):<\/p>\n In the Old Testament, the leading ministers were the prophets.\u00a0 But in the New Testament they were the apostles…<\/p>\n If you check the list of booklets I have written with new revelation, you have one small book and 41 booklets with new<\/em> revelation from God…Isn’t it logical to think that God would have another apostle<\/em> crying out to this world…?…<\/p>\n There have been a few people from the beginning of the Philadelphia Church of God who have said to me from time to time, “I think you are an apostle.”\u00a0 I never believed that\u00a0 because I didn’t see it in the Scriptures.. but we are here to search out God’s truth…<\/p>\n “An apostle must be called by Jesus Christ without the intervention of another man.. his authority does not depend on recognition.”…<\/p>\n So here’s the point: If Christ established and office, we’d better be aware of it…<\/p>\n Genesis 49:10 says that a lawgiver will not depart from Judah’s feet until Shiloh come. Does that indicate that this man, this lawgiver, will be alive when Christ returns? I don’t know, but it could<\/em> indicate that…<\/p>\n Does the work of Eliakim sound like a prophet, or more like an apostle?…<\/p>\n I believe only an apostle<\/em> can ordain an evangelist…<\/p>\n I MUST SAY HONESTLY THAT I BELIEVE THE FRUITS OF AN APOSTLE ARE HERE.<\/p>\n I think God didn’t want us to understand this until now, when everybody could see the fruits…<\/p>\n I think the office of an apostle is a sign that God wants us to do a still GREATER WORK than what we have done…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n This is almost funny if it were not so pathetic.\u00a0 So, apparently PCG hopes to ordain some as evangelists now.<\/p>\n RCG’s<\/a> David Pack made some similar sounding comments when he proclaimed himself to be an apostle several years ago (in his “21st century apostle” sermons).\u00a0 TPM’s<\/a> William Dankenbring later made an apostolic proclamation for himself.\u00a0 There are also a couple of lessor known individuals who have made similar inaccurate declarations.<\/p>\n The Apostle Paul<\/a> wrote:<\/p>\n 12 But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:12-13, NKJV)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n And I do not consider any of those who declared themselves apostles this century are true apostles.\u00a0 And Paul warned that there would be false apostles.<\/p>\n The Apostle Paul also wrote:<\/p>\n 1 Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord? 2 If I am not an apostle to others, yet doubtless I am to you. For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
