In his latest co-worker letter, LCG’s<\/a> Roderick C. Meredith wrote:<\/p>\n

It is about time we face the facts. If we don\u2019t truly repent and turn to God\u2019s ways, disaster<\/strong> lies just ahead for our American and British-descended peoples! The Eternal God tells us in His inspired Word, \u201cThe rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender\u201d (Prov. 22:7). Throughout the Bible, God tells us that we should not<\/strong> live beyond our means. Later in His Word God tells us, \u201cThere are four things which are little on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise:\u00a0 The ants are a people not strong, yet they<\/em> prepare<\/strong> their food in the summer<\/em>\u201d (Prov. 30:24-25).<\/p>\n

Yet most Americans\u2014and millions of Britons, Canadians and Aussies\u2014continually<\/em> spend far more money than they are actually making, or than they should spend. We run up bills at various stores and businesses. Americans, especially, run up massive <\/strong>credit card bills, and as a nation, the United States\u2014which used to be the world\u2019s greatest lender\u2014has become by far<\/em> the largest \u201cdebtor nation\u201d in human history!<\/p>\n

Many articles have come out in the financial press revealing that the U.S. government, technically, is \u201cflat broke.\u201d If we were a bank or financial institution, we would long ago have been put into receivership. America\u2019s total federal debt now stands at approximately $9,500,000,000,000\u2014that\u2019s over nine <\/em>trillion <\/strong>dollars! This is an absolute disaster in the making.<\/em> And it will soon get much worse<\/em> because our contingent liabilities such as future Social Security payments, Medicare and government pensions are not even reflected in that figure.<\/p>\n

Add up all<\/em> these IOUs and it turns out that our actual financial obligations total more than $57 trillion<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Most people, even most economists, have a hard time understanding the implications of that massive indebtedness. It is destined to change<\/strong> everything around you! Right now, for instance, the news reports tell us that the United States government has had to come to the rescue of the huge lending institutions called Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac\u2014financial institutions partially backed by the United States government that now have almost $6 trillion in mortgages on their books\u2014many of which are in trouble…<\/p>\n

So how<\/em> will the U.S. government come up with the hundreds of billions<\/em> of dollars to \u201crescue\u201d these financial institutions?<\/p>\n

Most honest investment experts acknowledge that it will be accomplished by simply \u201cprinting money.\u201d In other words, the government is free to print money of any amount backed by essentially nothing<\/strong> except the good name of the United States government. \u201cThe Treasury\u2019s effort is an \u2018unmitigated disaster,\u2019 according to famed investor Jim Rogers. Taxpayers will be saddled with debt if Congress approves the plan, he told Bloomberg. \u2018I don\u2019t know where these guys get the audacity to take our money, taxpayer money, and buy stock in Fannie Mae,\u2019 Rogers said\u201d (Charlotte Observer<\/em>, July 15, 2008). Before long, foreign governments such as China, Japan, Germany and others will demand from within <\/em>in this manner!<\/p>\n

Think about it!<\/em><\/p>\n

For many years<\/strong>, we have warned our American and British-descended readers that\u2014unless there is a genuine repentance<\/em> which brings our nations back to the ways of God\u2014our Creator will begin to bring us<\/em> down<\/strong> for our own good! Millennia ago, the Eternal God warned our forefathers that if they did not repent, \u201cThe alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. He shall<\/em> lend<\/strong> to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the<\/em> head<\/strong>,<\/em> and you shall be the<\/em> tail.<\/strong> Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did<\/em> not<\/strong> obey the voice of the LORD your God, to<\/em> keep His commandments<\/strong> and His statutes<\/strong> which He commanded you\u201d (Deut. 28:43-45).<\/p>\n

Dear brethren and co-workers, these words are right now<\/em> coming true before your very eyes! As God\u2019s servant, I feel duty bound to warn you<\/strong> that it is truly time to \u201cset your house in order\u201d\u2014even in a personal way. Though our government leaders do not seem to understand or be willing to act on what is happening, we must learn to do so personally<\/em>. So I encourage every one of you<\/em> reading this to begin to \u201ctighten your belts,\u201d to set aside adequate savings<\/strong> for the proverbial \u201crainy day,\u201d and to seek God<\/em> and His blessing and guidance in a special way in the months and years ahead.<\/p>\n

Though there will be ups and downs along the way, this financial crisis<\/strong> we are in will not <\/strong>go away! And\u2014as God has clearly prophesied\u2014the incidents of terrible storms and alternating droughts, fires, earthquakes<\/em> and increasing disease epidemics<\/strong> will grow worse and worse\u2014unless there is a real repentance<\/strong> among our peoples such as has never taken place in modern times!…<\/p>\n

But do not <\/strong>forget that your ultimate protection is from God and from Him alone<\/strong>. So do your part to set aside extra monies\u2014and extra food,<\/em> water<\/em>, and emergency supplies<\/em> as we have warned you before\u2014but also<\/strong> do your part to pray for, encourage and support the very Work of God<\/strong> which is helping you understand the meaning <\/em>of all these happenings around you.<\/p>\n

The facts support the idea that the US and UK in particular are setting themselves up for a mighty fall because of debt.\u00a0 While Canada and Australia have a lot of natural resources currently benefiting their exports, they too are vulnerable, which also makes New Zealand vulnerable (it has too many ties with the other 4 nations).\u00a0 The entire co-worker letter is available at http:\/\/www.cogl.org\/cgi-bin\/cogl\/coworker\/cogl-coworker.cgi?action=view_coworker<\/a><\/p>\n

One point that I would like to make has to do with Deuteronomy 28:43-45, which Dr. Meredith quoted.\u00a0 The Anglo-Saxon peoples of the US, UK, etc. simply have been so used to being “the head” that most have no idea that this situation will NOT last for too much longer.\u00a0 Other nations have long resented the current situation and when “push comes to shove” they feel that they are at least as entitled to be the head and that it is time for the Anglo-Saxon nations to be “the tail”.<\/p>\n

The US dollar ultimately WILL COLLAPSE and Americans will starve to death and have other serious problems.\u00a0 And while the Anglo-Saxon nations are not likely to repent in mass, individually, you can.<\/p>\n
