Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov yesterday reiterated Moscow\u2019s willingness to host a meeting for Palestinian and Israeli representatives without \u201cpreconditions\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the sidelines of the 5th Session of the Arab-Russian Ministerial Forum in Moscow, Lavrov said that Russia rejects \u201cforeign dictates and prepared prescriptions\u201d to resolve the crises in the region.<\/p>\n

For his part, Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, praised Russia\u2019s rejection of the US recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, saying the US position was a flagrant violation of international law and destroyed the basis for the Middle East peace process and the principle of land for peace. https:\/\/www.middleeastmonitor.com\/20190417-fm-russia-willing-to-host-palestine-israel-meeting\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Palestinians turn to Russia to bypass US peace plan<\/h2>\n

The Palestinians are urging Russia to play a greater role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as they embark on an international campaign to bypass the Trump administration\u2019s peace plan, which is scheduled to be released in the coming months, Palestinian officials said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to visit Moscow in the coming months to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has spoken multiple times of hosting a Middle East peace process that would include direct talks between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Abbas.<\/p>\n

PA Foreign Minister Riad Malki said on Tuesday that Abbas was prepared to meet with Netanyahu without preconditions if Russia is prepared to host such a summit.<\/p>\n

Abbas\u2019s spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh told a group of Israeli journalists that the PA wanted the international community to back its opposition to US President Donald Trump\u2019s plan unless it was based on the pre-1967 lines and previous international understandings.<\/p>\n

The Trump administration has kept details of the peace plan under wraps, but it has already clearly stated that the plan, known as the \u201cdeal of the century\u201d will deviate from past plans.<\/p>\n

Abbas will be in Cairo next week \u201cto inform all the Arab countries that we cannot accept the situation in which we are living now,\u201d Abu Rudeineh said. While Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu would seem to be inclined to support whatever the Trump Administration proposes, it takes both sides to get a peace deal. And the Palestinians do NOT want a USA brokered plan.<\/p>\n

Anyway, as the photograph at the beginning of this post shows, Benjamin Netanyahu has met Russian President Vladimir Putin. And he has met with him on several occasions.<\/p>\n

As one of the above articles states, Palestinian leaders are also planning on meeting with the Europeans. And the Europeans clearly wish to be involved in the process (see also EU passes copyright law and \u2018European politicians urge the EU to reject any US Middle East peace plan unless it is fair to Palestinians\u2019<\/span><\/a>).<\/p>\n

Now could Russia possibly help broker a peace deal in the Middle East?<\/p>\n

Yes.<\/p>\n

Even the prophesied one in Daniel 9?<\/p>\n

Yes.<\/p>\n

While Russia is NOT the prophesied\u00a0King of the North<\/a> (see also Is Russia the King of the North?<\/a>), the Bible does not specify that the\u00a0King of the North<\/a> actually brokers the deal, but only that he, when a ‘prince,’ confirms it for a period of time.<\/p>\n

Notice what Daniel 9:26-27 which states:<\/p>\n

26 And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The \u2018one week\u2019 has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven year deal, that is broken in the middle of it (after 3 1\/2 years). A ‘covenant’ is confirmed by one then called a ‘prince.’ ‘Princes’ are males who can become kings.<\/p>\n

There are several reasons that this \u201cprince\u201d in Daniel 9 is referring to the leader of the developing European empire (see King of the North<\/a> and Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation<\/a>). One is that it was the people of the Roman Empire of the 1st century that fulfilled the portion of Daniel 9:26 as they destroyed the city (Jerusalem) in 70 A.D. The European Union includes much of the land and peoples that were part of the ancient Roman Empire. And it is the \u201cprince\u201d coming from that people that verse 27 is referring to. Thus, this prophecy tells us that a lower level European leader will somewhat officially start to rise up about 3 1\/2 years before the Great Tribulation<\/a> (and yes, according to Jesus, some \u201ctribulation\u201d does happen prior to the start of the Great Tribulation<\/a>). Another is the fact that the \u201cbeast of the sea\u201d (Revelation 13:1) fits with the beasts from the \u201cgreat sea\u201d (Daniel 7:2)\u2013and that is the Mediterranean Sea according to the Old Testament\u2013hence this is an empire like the old Roman one (for more details, please see Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation<\/a>).<\/p>\n

This portion of scripture in Daniel seems to be discussing some type of peace deal that the Europeans will either propose or at least one from Europe will endorse–and Russia could be involved in the brokering as the Bible does not specify all who are involved in that. Now, those that claim that the \u201cprince to come\u201d in Daniel 9:26 is Jesus<\/a> and that He is the one that confirms a covenant with many for one week, etc., will not understand what is happening related to this deal. The \u201cprince to come\u201d will become the final European King of the North<\/a>. He is the one in Daniel 11:31 who fulfills bringing the end of the sacrifice and offering 3 1\/2 years after he confirms the covenant (the middle of a seven year prophetic week). Jesus did not destroy the city nor the sanctuary, nor is there a biblical record that He confirmed a seven-year covenant. The confirmation of a seven-year covenant by the one who will later become the King of the North<\/a> will begin the countdown until Jesus returns. Since seven 360 day prophetic years equal 2520 days, this could also be the official start of what could be considered the final fulfillment of the prophecies in Daniel 5 (see Can those in the USA\/UK see the Handwriting on the Wall<\/em>?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Why is this ‘covenant’ believed to be a type of \u2018peace deal\u2019?<\/p>\n

There are several reasons, but notice some other scriptures that discuss the rise of this ‘prince’ to become the Beast King:<\/p>\n

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many<\/strong>: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Daniel 8:25, KJV).<\/p>\n

23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully<\/strong>, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. 24 He shall enter peaceably<\/strong>, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches; and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time. (Daniel 11:23-24, NKJV)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So this ‘Man of Sin<\/a>‘ leader gives people the impression that there will be \u201cpeace\u201d and is involved in some type of deal. The word translated as \u201cpeace\u201d in Daniel 8:25 is from the Hebrew term shalvah<\/em> and essentially means security. In other words, this leader will destroy \u201cmany\u201d who are under the impression that they are secure because of some type of security and\/or trade arrangement. Such arrangements are now commonly referred to as peace deals or treaties. But as the prophesied one has not been confirmed, at least not publicly, the Great Tribulation<\/a> would seem to be at least 3 1\/2 years away (you may also wish to watch a YouTube video titled Might the Great Tribulation start in 2019?<\/a>). Verse 24 of the 8th chapter of Daniel also shows that this leader will somehow also be accumulating wealth. Perhaps to back up a European supported currency, he may end up with personal and\/or national gold reserves and\/or wealth from the Vatican. The Vatican has a vast amount of wealth and is prophesied to be improperly involved with the kings of the earth in the end times per Revelation 17. A pope will probably endorse\/encourage the deal (cf. Revelation 13:11-17). This \u2018prince\u2019 of Daniel 9:27 is not representing Russia as Russia is NOT the King of the North of biblical prophecy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although Jesus said that the \u2018peacemakers\u2019 are blessed (Matthew 5:9), He also warned about those who act like sheep\/lambs that are truly dangerous:<\/p>\n

15 \u201cBeware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep\u2019s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. (Matthew 7:15)<\/p>\n

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. (Revelation 13:11)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

People will be misled about the deal and will tend to believe it is good (1 Thessalonians 5:3; cf. Ezekiel 13:10-14). USA political leaders have long endorsed proposals for peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis that could be modified and perhaps temporarily adopted. Destruction of the USA will happen about three and 1\/2 years after the deal is confirmed by the European leader (cf. Daniel 9:27, 11:31-39).<\/p>\n

Notice something that the Apostle Paul wrote about:<\/p>\n

3 For when they say, \u201cPeace and safety!\u201d then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. (1 Thessalonians 5:3-4)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Many will NOT understand but will be deceived about the temporal peace that will come.<\/p>\n

As I have written for years, based upon what the Bible teaches about the seven churches of Revelation 2 & 3<\/a>, it is my position that the seven-year component of the deal in Daniel 9:27 will not be clear enough to Catholics<\/a>, Protestants<\/a>, nor most who claim to be in the Church of God<\/a> for them to realize this is the deal. Just like they do not consider certain prophetic matters clear enough (e.g. How To Determine If Someone is a True Prophet of God<\/a>), the vast majority will not truly understand the prophetic implications when the related deal is made.<\/p>\n

Russia could be involved. And that would also confuse some who believe that Russia is the King of the North<\/a> (see also Is Russia the King of the North?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

I also should add that there are also biblical reasons to believe that the Vatican will be involved in the peace deal and items that happen prophetically thereafter. The Vatican wants more access to certain sites in Jerusalem (such as Church of God on Jerusalem\u2019s Western Hill<\/a>) and wants to establish itself as an intermediary between more nations and has taken some steps related to this. When it did not get that a few years ago, the Vatican more officially \u2018recognized\u2019 the \u2018state\u2019 of Palestine (see Vatican recognizes Palestinian state<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Anyway, a peace deal will come, but it will only be temporary.<\/p>\n

Real lasting peace will not occur until the establishment of the true Kingdom of God<\/a> (Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3, Revelation 21).<\/p>\n

Until then, the Bible warns of conflict (Matthew 24:4-8), as well as times of false declarations of peace (e.g. 1 Thessalonians 5:3; Ezekiel 13:10-14).<\/p>\n

Christians need to watch and pray (Luke 21:36) and not be deceived like the world will be (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12).<\/p>\n
