Germany’s Alternative f\u00fcr Deutshland<\/em> party made some gains in yesterday’s election:<\/p>\n

The success of the AfD was a “double slap in the face” to Angela Merkel …<\/p>\n

The far-right\u00a0Alternative for Germany (AfD)\u00a0became the second biggest party in two eastern state elections Sunday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats (CDU) and the center-left Social Democrats (SPD) still managed to come out on top in Saxony and Brandenburg respectively.\u00a0 …<\/p>\n

Europe responds<\/strong><\/p>\n

The results were a “shock … but not the earthquake that everyone feared,”\u00a0as Italy’s\u00a0Corriere della sera <\/em>put it.<\/p>\n

La Repubblica <\/em>expressed deeper worries, “The nightmare that the far-right AfD would be the strongest party in two federal states in the former GDR and rattle the Merkel government was averted …But the extreme right is on a worrying advance…Fear, nationalism and xenophobia were the main instruments used in the election campaign.” …<\/p>\n

Poland’s left-leaning\u00a0Gazeta Wyborzcza<\/em> took a similar line, opining that “the populist attack was deflected …\u00a0but the AfD still recorded a record result in Saxony and Brandenburg. However, they did not manage to beat the governing CDU and\u00a0SPD.”<\/p>\n

France’s regional Les Derni\u00e8res Nouvelles d’Alsace <\/em>wrote, “Thirty years on, the reunification is still breathing, but feebly\u00a0…The right is getting closer,\u00a0they’re nibbling away, one election at a time, pushing and\u00a0shaking the foundations of social democracy.” The Alsace paper\u00a0added that as eastern Germany is in “economic despair,” the AfD\u00a0can “surf\u00a0on the wave of latent and historical racism, which was caused by the massive influx of migrants in\u00a02015.”<\/p>\n

French\u00a0daily Le Monde<\/em> called the AfD’s rise a “strong breakthrough,” saying that the party has “never scored as high,” while the Dutch De Telegraaf<\/em> said the results were “a double slap in the face for the unstable German coalition.”<\/p>\n

Volkskrant, another Dutch daily, said that while the right-wing populists were not the largest party in either state, the AfD can now “call itself the ‘People’s Party’ in the [former] East.” https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/how-the-world-press-viewed-the-far-right-surge-in-eastern-german-elections\/a-50255390<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While the AfD did not do as well as some thought it may, it made political gains.<\/p>\n

G\u00d6RLITZ, Germany … Wilhelmsplatz, and G\u00f6rlitz more broadly, have become a kind of symbol of the polarized debate about open societies, tolerance, and integration.<\/p>\n

On a broader level, what is happening in G\u00f6rlitz\u2014which just voted 37.8 percent<\/a> for the populist far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD)\u2014is similar to the debate that is playing out in cities and towns across eastern Germany. Voters here in Saxony, as well as in neighboring Brandenburg, handed the AfD significant victories in state elections on Sunday: the party won 27.5 percent in Saxony<\/a> and 22.2 percent in Brandenburg<\/a>, making them the second-strongest force in both states. On October 27 in Thuringia, another of the five former East German states, the party is also expected to do well. …<\/p>\n

when the influx of refugees arrived in Germany in 2015 and 2016, the AfD had the final trigger it needed to capitalize on widespread disillusionment: How is it, many here thought, that these newcomers are given the kinds of resources and support we never got? Though G\u00f6rlitz and Saxony more broadly have been governed by Merkel\u2019s center-right CDU for the past three decades, residents became skeptical of the party\u2019s ability to help them or willingness to listen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe CDU suffered a massive loss of confidence here,\u201d Uwe Walter, a journalist with the regional radio station Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, told me. \u201cCertain problems that are important to the people haven\u2019t been addressed, or were addressed arrogantly\u2026 No one was listening to them. The only ones who were there were the AfD, who said, \u2018We won\u2019t let our homeland be destroyed. We\u2019ll help you.\u2019\u201d https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/international\/archive\/2019\/09\/germany-far-right-afd-election-saxony-brandenburg\/597256\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

AfD has often been portrayed as intolerant of various races and religions.<\/p>\n

But it continues to make gains in Germany, particularly in much of the east.<\/p>\n

Although the AfD is a small minority party, it reminds many people of Adolf Hitler’s party.<\/p>\n

Consider that it got between 22.2 – 37.8 percent of the vote. Consider that Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei<\/i>; NSDAP) rose from obscurity to win 18.3 per cent of the vote and 107 parliamentary seats in the 1930 election when Germany had major economic problems. Before this election AfD had 91 parliamentary seats.<\/p>\n

The reality is many in Germany are upset about immigration matters and essentially not being about to boldly talk about it. More and more want a strong leader to stand up against crime, terrorism, and Islam.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that a militaristic leader called the Beast will arise and become militarily successful (Revelation 13:1-4). Germans will be comfortable, for a time, with such a militarily successful leader.<\/p>\n

Europe will one day support a dictatorial strongman.<\/p>\n

Although some see the AfD gains as a shock, notice some items from the old Radio\/Worldwide Church of God that were published decades ago (bolding<\/strong> mine):<\/p>\n

The prophecy of Daniel 11 … This is an important \u201cend-time\u201d prophecy. Following the chronological progression of the chapter, it becomes apparent that the phrase \u201cking of the north\u201d had at first referred to Syria under the Seleucid dynasty, and later, in the New Testament times, to the Emperor of the Roman Empire. \u2026 Thus, in its final end-time application, the \u201cking of the north\u201d is the prophesied strong man who will lead a coming<\/strong> union of ten European nations \u2014 the seventh and final revival of the ancient Roman Empire<\/strong> prophesied by Daniel and in the book of Revelation (see Revelation 17:12-13).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Finally feeling the chilling embrace of Moscow, the German people may yet call for the Bavarian strongman \u2014 the one they feared in good times \u2014 to rescue them from their impending doom. (Hogberg G. WHERE Is WEST GERMANY Headed? Plain Truth, December 1980).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A Bavarian strongman would be someone from Bavaria, which is in southern Germany (the southern border of Bavaria runs to the northern border of Austria). The strongman that Gene Hogberg had in mind back in 1980 (Franz Joseph Strauss) died. Yet, let me add that there is another Bavarian strongman who I have kept my eye on who may one day rise up. His name is Karl-Theodor zu-Guttenberg (see Might German Baron Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg become the King of the North?<\/a>). A reader sent me a link a while back to a presentation that Herr Guttenberg gave in May of 2016 where he called for more passionate leaders in Europe. One such leader will arise.<\/p>\n

When the time comes for the final Beast leader to arise, he will most likely be at least partially German, as all the leaders of the old Holy Roman Empire were as well.<\/p>\n

Germans and other Europeans will get sufficiently frustrated with democracy (as well as will be deceived by various signs and lying wonders\u20132 Thessalonians 2:8-12) that they will support a dictatorial leader over Europe.<\/p>\n

And that will include not only those in Germany, but elsewhere. Austrians and others have issues with Islamic immigrants in Europe (see Austrian military wants to stop migrants as Central European nations face legal action for refusing Islamic migrants<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Adolf Hitler was actually Austrian-German.<\/p>\n

The Bible teaches that there will be a unity problem with Europe:<\/p>\n

41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter\u2019s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It will take a strong leader to make Europe\u2019s coming, temporary unity, stronger.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that the European beast<\/a> leader, also called the King of the North<\/a>, will arise promising peace.<\/p>\n

21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. (Daniel 11:21-23, NKJV)<\/p>\n

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many<\/strong>: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Daniel 8:25, KJV).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Bible specifically shows that a reorganization will come to Europe and power will be given to that dictator:<\/p>\n

12 \u201cThe ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He will push out Islam (cf. Daniel 11:40-43; cf. Revelation 13)!<\/p>\n

The situation with Islamic migrants in Europe as well as issues with the USA will be factors in Europeans turning towards a dictatorial power.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that the European beast<\/a> leader, also called the King of the North<\/a>, will arise promising peace.<\/p>\n

While the AfD has its own problems, its rise is demonstrating that Germans are becoming less tolerant of Islam than many thought.<\/p>\n

War is Coming Between Europeans and Arabs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But perhaps it should be noted that the Bible shows that particular war (Daniel 11:40-43) will come AFTER the Europeans successfully war against the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39) and its Anglo-Saxon dominated allies (cf. Daniel 8:24-25).<\/p>\n

The rise of AfD reminds many of pre-WWII. We are getting closer and closer to WWIII<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While many are likely to denounce what they believe the AfD stands for, the reality is that the situation with Islam and Europe will change–and Islam will NOT end up being the dominating power in Europe.<\/p>\n
