Goldman Sachs Has Just Issued An Ominous Warning About Stock Market Chaos In October<\/h2>\n

Are we about to see U.S. financial markets go crazy?\u00a0 That is what Goldman Sachs seems to think, and it certainly wouldn\u2019t be the first time that great financial chaos has been unleashed during the month of October.\u00a0 When the stock market crashed in October 1929, it started the worst economic depression that we have ever witnessed.\u00a0 In October 1987, the largest single day percentage decline in U.S. stock market history rocked the entire planet.\u00a0 And the nightmarish events of October 2008 set the stage for a \u201cGreat Recession\u201d that we still haven\u2019t fully recovered from.\u00a0 So could it be possible that something similar may happen in October 2019?\u00a0 According to CNBC<\/a>, Goldman Sachs is warning that the stock market could soon \u201cgo crazy again\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n

For investors taking a breather from the chaos in August, buckle up as the market is about to go crazy again, Goldman Sachs warned<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Wall Street is now inches away from reclaiming its record highs, but a rockier ride could be around the corner as stock volatility has been 25% higher in October on average since 1928<\/strong>, according to Goldman. Big price swings have been seen in each major stock benchmark and sector in October over the past 30 years, with technology and health care being the most volatile groups, Goldman said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Goldman derivatives strategist John Marshall is the man behind this new warning, and he believes that there are some fundamental reasons<\/a> why the month of October is often so volatile\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe high October volatility is more than just a coincidence,\u201d<\/strong> John Marshall, equity derivatives strategist at Goldman, said in a note Friday. \u201cWe believe it is a critical period for many investors and companies that manage performance to calendar year-end.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Some have suggested that because the jubilee is not observed, that this is perhaps why there tends to be major economic problems every 50-60 or so years. Notice the following:<\/p>\n

\u201cKondratieff long wave cycle (K-wave)<\/strong> was originally used to explain long wave economic cycles. Its originator Nickolai Kondratieff was a Russian economist (1892-1938) in Stalin\u2019s Agricultural Academy and Business Research Institute (\u201cLong Waves in Economic Life\u201d \u2013 originally published in German in 1926). Kondratieff\u2019s major premise was that capitalist economies displayed long wave cycles of boom and bust ranging between 50-60 years in duration. Kondratieff\u2019s study covered the period 1789 to 1926 and was centered on prices and interest rates.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 50-60 year cycle of catastrophe and renewal<\/strong> had been observed and recorded by the ancient Mayans of Central America and by the ancient Israelites<\/strong>. Further studies have discovered similar long economic waves from the period of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Kondratieff identified four distinct phases the economy goes through. Some have seen major economic disturbances throughout history that seem to possibly correlate with not following the admonition of having a Jubilee year and\/or the Fall Holy Days.<\/p>\n

Jubilee years began with the Day of Atonement, which is often in October. For 2019, the Day of Atonement is October 9th. While I do not believe that 2019 is a Jubilee year, the “civil” year in the Jewish calendar begins on September 3oth this year–and that marks the beginning of the Fall Holy Days in 2019.<\/p>\n

We will see if Goldman Sachs’ concerns about this October will come to pass.<\/p>\n
