As carbon pollution,temperatures,and climate destruction continue to rise, and public backlash mounts,the Summit has offered a turning point from inertia into momentum, action,and global impact \u2013if everyone gets on board. The UN estimates that the world would need to increase its efforts between three-and five-fold to contain climate change to the levels dictated by science \u2013a 1.5\u00b0C rise at most \u2013and avoid escalating climate damage already taking place around the world.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

World leaders are gathering Monday in New York for a United Nations summit on climate change as scientists warn much more ambitious action must be taken to meet targets to mitigate the effects.<\/p>\n

Some 60 presidents and prime ministers are due to address the day-long event on topics including shifting away from coal toward renewable energy sources, preventing and responding to disasters, and climate finance.<\/p>\n

U.S. President Donald Trump will not be among those attending the summit. …<\/p>\n

The 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, which has been ratified by 186 nations, calls for actions to prevent global temperatures from surpassing 2 degrees, and ideally remain within 1.5 degrees by cutting greenhouse gas emissions. The States of the world gathered at the United Nations for the one-day Climate Action Summit on September 23. …<\/p>\n

On Sept. 20 hundreds of thousands of young people<\/a>\u00a0peacefully protested climate change and the World Council of Churches walked alongside them in cities such as New York, Hamburg, Oslo, Nairobi, Johannesburg and Melbourne<\/p>\n

Lining up with the WCC are the ACT Alliance and the Lutheran World Federation, which together represent 580 million Christians globally.<\/p>\n

“As we focus on the interconnectedness of God’s creation, our churches are urging governments worldwide to take stronger measures and present concrete plans to address climate change \u2013 now,” the WCC said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Yes, many of the world’s churches are involved in this. The head of the World Council of Churches basically (and wrongly) equated not supporting the climate change agenda as the unpardonable sin.<\/p>\n

On September 7, 2016, Olav Fykse Tveit, Church of Norway Pastor, and the General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, essentially declared that those who ignore \u2018climate change\u2019 are committing the \u2018unpardonable sin\u2019 against the Holy Spirit. Pope Francis has endorsed the UN agenda. He attempted to assist with it by making an encyclical titled Laudato Si<\/a>. While it is not clear if he pushed the UN to accept his views or the UN got him to accept its views, but the reality is that both sides came up with the same views. And these views had a lot to do with economic and societal control and not a huge amount of pollution-related actions.<\/p>\n

A Different False Gospel<\/a><\/h3>\n

While there have been a variety of false gospels since at least the time of Simon Magus and the Gnostics, there is a relatively new one being pushed by major leaders of the world\u2019s churches. Essentially, leaders are teaching that \u2018climate change\u2019 is related to salvation, the unpardonable sin, and something called the \u2018social gospel.\u2019 This is being pushed by leaders including Pope Francis of the Church of Rome, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of the Eastern Orthodox Church, and Olav Tveit of the World Council of Churches. Is this a false gospel consistent with Galatians 1:6-11? Are these angels of light or something else (cf. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 )? While it is good to not pollute, will the ecumenical climate change agenda work according to the Bible? Dr. Thiel address these issues and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This false gospel is one that does not involve repentance towards God, does not require accepting Jesus as the only name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), nor does it embrace \u201cthe faith once delivered to the saints.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pope Francis and others are promoting a worldly view that without repentance, but through international cooperation of unconverted leaders, the world will be able to improve itself and solve its problems.<\/p>\n

The Bible says that will not work.<\/p>\n

Twice the Bible warns:<\/p>\n

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12, 16:25)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Instead of humans fixing the world\u2019s problems, Jesus warned:<\/p>\n

21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect\u2019s sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:21-22)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Bible teaches:<\/p>\n

1 Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; (Psalm 127:1)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While the WORLD’S churches are involved in “Climate Action,” they, most often, have not have sought to go about it God’s way. They are laboring in vain.\u00a0 This does not mean that humans should waste resources or pollute, and some steps should be taken, but the thrust of the agenda is not to be proper biblical stewards of the earth. Instead, the details tend to focus on various controlling methods that are often not consistent with biblical morals.<\/p>\n

Christians should try to pollute less and waste less. We should not litter. We should pick up after ourselves. We should try to insure our plastic trash does not blow into waterways or on the land. We should try to avoid, or minimize, the use of synthetic chemicals where it is feasible. And yes, we can separate trash for recycling, as well as try to reuse items instead of throwing them away and replacing them. We should live as Christian pacifists<\/a>–human wars have long been a factor in pollution and destruction and this will get worse. We should live as Jesus and strive not to sin, while we look forward to, and teach, about the coming Kingdom of God<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite UN and other goals on the environment, the Bible shows that the ecological system will get much worse as higher heat is coming:<\/p>\n

8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. (Revelation 16:8-9)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Note, however, the above prophecy is for several years into the future\u2013we are not too near that yet.<\/p>\n

Dealing with rising temperatures is NOT “A race we can win,” without repentance, as the UN Climate Action Summit slogan claims.<\/p>\n

But with international efforts to push towards globalism, often now without the USA, the world will try to create something claimed to fulfill the vision of Pope Francis, Europe, and the UN. Yet, it will not bring lasting peace\u2013it will end in death and destruction.<\/p>\n

The Bible is clear that a new world will then come. But that will be the millennial Kingdom of God<\/a>, not from the UN Climate Action Summit, pressure from the WCC, or the Vatican’s Laudato Si<\/a>.<\/p>\n

God can truly fix the disaster that humans are causing through sin. Something that many in the UN, WCC, and Vatican do not believe or understand.<\/p>\n
