COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Suicides continue to rise among US teens:<\/p>\n Suicides are on the rise among young Americans of all races, part of a grim national trend that has contributed to lower life expectancy overall<\/a>, according to new federal data. …<\/p>\n While suicide was the 10th most common cause of death<\/a> among Americans of all ages in 2017, it was the second leading cause of death among young Americans age 15 to 24, according to new data released Thursday<\/a> from the National Center for Health Statistics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. …<\/p>\n According to Heather Kelly, a clinical psychologist with the American Psychological Association, there is an urgent need for more research to seek out evidence-based ways to prevent suicide and help those who struggle with thoughts of self-harm, especially among veterans, the LGBTQ community, youth and young adults.<\/p>\n The results of another study published in the journal Pediatrics<\/a> earlier this week suggested black boys and girls are more likely than their peers in other racial and ethnic groups to report suicidal attempts \u2014 and that revelation has mental health experts working to turn those numbers around, and prevent further tragedy. 10\/18\/19 https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/health\/youth-suicide-rates-are-on-the-rise-in-the-u-s<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Michael Snyder reported about this and gave his ideas as to why:<\/p>\n As a society, we are deeply, deeply unhappy, and this is especially true for our young people.\u00a0 In fact, a report that was just released discovered that there was a 56 percent increase in suicide among Americans from age 10 to age 24 in just 10 years<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n We appear to be rapidly running in the wrong direction, and yet our leaders just keep pushing us even further down the same road.<\/p>\n I was particularly horrified to learn that the report had found that the suicide rate for Americans from age 10 to age 14 had \u201calmost tripled\u201d<\/a> between 2007 and 2017\u2026<\/p>\n How can things get that much worse in just 10 years? …<\/p>\n Our society is deeply, deeply broken, and if we continue going down the same path we are going to continue to get similar results. …<\/p>\n We have completely and utterly failed our young people, and it is because we are teaching them the wrong things.<\/p>\n Oh, we love to think that we have everything together, but the truth is that we are a complete mess and we are passing on our flawed views to the next generation with devastating results.<\/p>\n In addition to an unprecedented rise in suicide, rates of depression among our young people are escalating dramatically as well<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n It shouldn\u2019t be surprising that this is happening. We teach our kids that they came from monkeys and that the only thing they have to look forward to at the end is to return to the dust from whence they came. In between, we offer them all sorts of temporary pleasures that don\u2019t give them any sort of lasting meaning and purpose in order to pacify them and to keep them from asking too many hard questions. Because if you start asking hard questions, you quickly find out that virtually every major system in our society is broken. But we urge our young people to work really hard so that someday they can take their places as important cogs in a machine that is rapidly steamrolling toward oblivion. …<\/p>\n Our education system, the mainstream media, our entire entertainment industry and most of our national leaders are trying to take you in a direction that only leads to depression, despair and death. 10\/17\/19 http:\/\/endoftheamericandream.com\/archives\/why-has-there-been-a-56-percent-increase-in-suicide-among-young-americans-in-just-10-years<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Well, the teaching of the evolutionary lie has been going on for quite some time.<\/p>\n Yet, one major thing really has been the rise of the LGBTQ agenda in the past ten years. Also consider the rise electronic social media, more acceptance of pornography, and the decreasing importance of religion to Americans (see \u2018Three Decades Ago, America Lost Its Religion. Why?\u2019<\/a> and\/or watch Losing Religion (and HOW NOT TO!)<\/a>.<\/p>\n Many feel hopeless.<\/p>\n But since there is only one name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), are most of those who committed suicide doomed?<\/p>\n Since, few, if any, suiciders committed what could be called the “Unpardonable Sin<\/a>,” God\u2019s word says, \u201cNo!\u201d<\/p>\n The Bible shows us that the vast majority of human beings who have lived in this present age\u2014who have never heard the true Gospel of the Kingdom of God<\/a>, who have lived and died while blinded by Satan (the \u201cgod of this age\u201d per 2 Corinthians 4:4)\u2014will be raised again to physical life at the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11). This will be their first time to truly see God\u2019s plan of salvation. Most will accept God’s OFFER of Salvation<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Bible clearly teaches all will have an opportunity. Notice something that both the New Testament and the Old Testament teach:<\/p>\n 6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. (Luke 3:6, NKJV throughout except as where otherwise indicated)<\/p>\n 10 And all the ends of the earth shall see The salvation of our God. Hundreds of scriptures reveal God\u2019s plan of salvation.<\/a><\/p>\n Please check out the scriptures and believe what the Bible teaches.<\/p>\n The Bible teaches to ‘choose life’ and not the way of death (Deuteronomy 30:19).<\/p>\n The late Herbert W. Armstrong<\/a> noted that some who seemed successful in this age, truly were not successful. Here is some of what he wrote many decades ago:<\/p>\n Every two minutes someone in the United States attempts suicide. Each day nearly 70 persons succeed<\/em>\u2014but is that success? The World Health Organization estimates that some one thousand<\/em> people commit suicide in the world\u2014every day!<\/em><\/p>\n Suicides now outnumber murders. Now various organizations for the prevention of suicide are a reality! But the cause<\/em> is individual failure!<\/strong><\/p>\n Only a minority, of course, go to this extreme, but the overwhelming majority do end their lives in failure…<\/p>\n People will ignore all their lives any idea of divine guidance and help\u2014yet if one should find himself on a foodless and waterless raft after a shipwreck in mid-ocean, it is remarkable how quickly he would begin to believe there really is a living God! In last-resort desperation most people will cry out to Him whom they have ignored, disobeyed, and set at naught all their lives.<\/p>\n Wouldn\u2019t it seem axiomatic that, if there is a compassionate beneficent Creator standing ready and willing to give us emergency help as a last resort, it would have been more sensible to have sought His guidance and help all along? Yet some have acquired wealth, lived luxuriously, and then, suddenly losing all, turned finally to God in their economic distress. Others have committed suicide…<\/p>\n Is it possible that the living GOD<\/strong> might be a factor in determining the success or failure of one\u2019s life? Few have thought so.<\/p>\n People will ignore all their lives any idea of divine guidance and help\u2014yet if one should find himself on a foodless and waterless raft after a shipwreck in mid-ocean, it is remarkable how quickly he would begin to believe there really is a living God! Even then the motive too often is selfish.<\/p>\n Yet, if we are to enjoy the good things of life\u2014freedom from fears and worries, peace of mind, security, protection, happiness, abundant well-being\u2014the very SOURCE<\/strong> of their supply is the Great God! Since all comes from Him anyway, why not tap the SOURCE<\/strong> from the very beginning?<\/p>\n But in our day of modern science, sophistication and vanity, it has not been fashionable to believe in a Maker. In this deceived world, knowledge of God has found little or no place in modern education.<\/p>\n The ALL-IMPORTANT<\/strong> seventh Law of Success<\/em>, nevertheless, is having contact with, and the guidance and continuous help of <\/em>GOD<\/em><\/strong>!<\/p>\n And the person who does<\/em> put this all-important seventh law last<\/em> is very probably dooming his life to failure at the end. (Armstrong HW. The Seven Laws of Success<\/a>,)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The Bible teaches that one is not to murder (Exodus 20:13). And that includes murdering oneself. Notice also the following:<\/p>\n Is suicide a crime?…<\/strong><\/p>\n God commands: \u201cTHOU SHALT NOT KILL\u201d (the sixth commandment). Webster defines the word kill as \u201cto deprive of life.\u201d To commit suicide, then, is breaking one of the Ten Commandments -and is definitely condemned by God. Paul admonishes us saying, \u201cKnow you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?<\/p>\n If any man DESTROY (KJV margin) the temple of God, him shall God DESTROY; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are\u201d (1 Cor. 3 : 16, 17 ) . \u201cWhat, know you not that your BODY is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own?\u201d (I Cor. 6: 19). No murderer-or suicide-has eternal life abiding in him (I John 3: 15). He has no hope unless and until in the general resurrection after the millennium he repents of his sin (Matthew 11 :20-24). (Plain Truth. January 1960, pp. 15-16)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n It is sad and disturbing when people commit suicide or commit other forms of murder.<\/p>\n Decades ago, a Worldwide Church of God minister told of experiences he had with three successive would-be suicides. Each time he said to them, “Well, go right ahead \u2014 but first you’d better learn what happens at the moment you die. So far as your consciousness goes, the next fraction of a second you will wake up in the resurrection \u2014 and if you commit this self-murder, you’ll still be facing all your problems, and the guilt of this SELF-MURDER crime in addition. Why not solve the problems NOW, before you commit this murder?” Not one of the three went through with his intended suicide!<\/p>\n While that may not work for everyone, the truth is that there’s nothing to gain by “ending it all,” thinking that is the easy way out. Death<\/em> only brings instant awakening in the resurrection. You will know absolutely NOTHING from the second you die, till the second you awake in the resurrection. These men, the minister explained, had supposed that suicide would END IT ALL \u2014 and they’d be out of their troubles, but when they learned they would still have their troubles plus a MURDER charge against them in THAT JUDGMENT, it no longer seemed that suicide was the “quick way out of it all.”<\/p>\n No, death<\/em> is not a friend to solve problems. Jesus <\/a>came to DESTROY DEATH<\/em> — to make a happy, peaceful, abundant life possible for all — for each in his own due time. He came that we might have LIFE, “and have it more abundantly.”<\/p>\n In today’s society, hopefully the depressed<\/a> and disappointed will not turn to suicide.
