COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n On June 1, 2017, US President Donald Trump announced his intention for the US to withdraw from the Paris climate accords known also as COP21:<\/p>\n \u201cThe Paris climate accord is simply the latest example of Washington entering into an agreement that damages the United States,\u201d Trump said. “… As of today the United States will cease all implementation of the non-binding accord.\u201d https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/a\/trump-announces-us-will-pull-out-of-paris-climate-accord\/3883090.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Yesterday, his Administration submitted the required formal notice:<\/p>\n UNITED NATIONS – The United States announced Monday that it has notified the United Nations that it will begin its withdrawal from the 2015 Paris climate agreement to lower greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n “President Donald Trump made this decision because the Paris Agreement unfairly burdens American businesses, workers and taxpayers while giving a free pass to other countries,” a State Department spokesman told VOA.<\/p>\n The United States is second only to China as the top emitter of greenhouse gas emissions globally.<\/p>\n U.S. President Donald Trump campaigned against the U.S. being a part of the Paris deal, though virtually every other country has signed up. Due to a 3-year waiting period since the agreement entered into force, Monday was the first day Washington could formally submit its official notification. It will take an additional year for the U.S. withdrawal to take effect. That date \u2014 Nov. 4, 2020 \u2014 is the day after the 2020 U.S. presidential election.<\/p>\n Democrat challengers to Trump do not support the withdrawal, and if one of them wins the presidency, that person could cancel the withdrawal after taking office Jan. 20, 2021.<\/p>\n “As the climate crisis worsens each day and California burns and Iowa floods, Trump continues to abandon science and our international leadership,” tweeted Joe Biden, one of Trump’s main political challengers. “He just notified the United Nations of our official withdrawal from the Paris Agreement. It’s shameful.”<\/p>\n The Paris Agreement aims to keep a global temperature rise this century under 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The deal also seeks to strengthen the ability of countries to respond to and mitigate the impacts of climate change.<\/p>\n A U.N. spokesperson confirmed receipt of the U.S. notification and said the U.N. would say something further soon.<\/p>\n The Trump administration says irrespective of the Paris Agreement, U.S. net greenhouse gas emissions dropped 13% from 2005 to 2017, while the economy grew over 19%. https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/usa\/us-notifies-un-it-will-withdraw-paris-climate-deal<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The European Union would like Donald Trump to change his position:<\/p>\n November 5, 2019<\/p>\n BRUSSELS (AP) \u2014 The European Union has voiced regret at the U.S. government\u2019s decision to pull out of the Paris climate agreement and expressed hopes that one of the world\u2019s biggest CO2 emitters will backpedal on its decision and rejoin.<\/p>\n European Commission spokeswoman Mina Andreeva said Tuesday that the global deal signed in 2015 remains \u201cthe most important international agreement on climate change\u201d and insisted that the EU will continue to \u201cfight global climate change under this legal framework.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the U.S. departure, Andreeva added that the 28-member bloc will continue working with various U.S.-based entities and stakeholders who remain committed to the deal.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Paris agreement has strong foundations and is here to stay. Its doors remain open and we hope that the U.S. will decide to pass (them) again one day,\u201d Andreeva said.<\/p>\n Germany said the U.S. government\u2019s decision<\/a> is \u201cregrettable\u201d but no surprise.<\/p>\n Environment Minister Svenja Schulze said the U.S. had announced its plan to withdraw from the pact two years ago and \u201cluckily it has remained alone in doing so.\u201d<\/p>\n Nearly 200 nations signed the landmark 2015 climate deal to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 Fahrenheit) by the end of the century, with each country providing its own goals for reducing emissions of greenhouse gases.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The USA is on outlier on this and has been called a “rogue nation” for its plan to withdraw (watch The USA Declared a \u2018Rogue Nation\u2019!<\/a>). The Europeans will consider the USA withdraw as part of their justification to take it over in the future–which they will one day do and surprise the world (cf. Daniel 11:39; Revelarion 13:1-4).<\/p>\n Now for some international background on this, back in December 2015, a major international agreement was announced in Paris at the COP21 meeting (Conference of the Parties, 21st meeting). The United Nations’ then Sectretary Ban Ki-moon pushed for this agreement and succeeded. The Vatican had done work for this as well, but mainly behind the scenes in Paris (see Role of Pope Francis \u2018transformative\u2019 for COP21 climate change conference<\/a>). Then US President Obama attended the first part of the conference and pushed for this global climate deal (see Ecumenalists push for COP21 \u2018climate change\u2019 agenda: a solution for terrorism? Barack Obama seemingly wants to stay the course<\/a>). Later Barack Obama and the Chinese signed something to accept it. But not something that Donald Trump could not get out of legally.<\/p>\n This COP21 Paris agreement was consistent with the Pope Francis’ Laudato Si<\/a> encyclical in areas of international cooperation, climate matters, and forced wealth redistribution in the Spring of 2015. The accord is basically a move towards socialism and world governance. Many want more of both.<\/p>\n As it turns out, Pope Francis gave Donald Trump a copy of his Laudato Si<\/a> encyclical to read when the two met in May of 2017. Pope Francis was not pleased with Donald Trump’s announcement to pull out of the Paris Accords shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n As regular readers of this page are aware, a rift between the USA and the Europeans over climate matters was expected. Here is something I wrote in my book, which came out a day or two before his inauguration, Donald Trump and America\u2019s Apocalypse<\/a>:<\/p>\n Donald Trump\u2019s view of climate change is expected to set up some type of issue between the USA and Europe. Europe will tend to see the USA as an irresponsible polluter of the planet, while Europe will claim to be the protector that the world needs. (Thiel B. Donald Trump and America\u2019s Apocalypse<\/a>. Nazarene Books, 2017, p. 45)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The Paris agreement, that many in Europe have pushed, is consistent with the “New Universal Agenda” that the 193 members of the United Nations approved in late September of 2015.<\/p>\n As I wrote in the past, this COP21 agreement is likely to greatly benefit Germany. Germany is a world leader in developing cleaner types of engines. Germany also appears to be in the lead to produce energy via helium fusion, and hence reduce the need for fossil fuels (see also German helium fusion stellarator may help propel Europe to dominate the world<\/a>).<\/p>\n The Bible prophesies that an economically-powerful Europe will arise (cf. Revelation chapters 13 and 18). This accord may help pave the way for nations to become wealthy trading with the end time power connected with Mystery Babylon the Great (Revelation 17:1-5), until it falls (Revelation 18:1-3).<\/p>\n The Bible also prophesies the end of the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a><\/span>) and that it will be taken over by a power that really did not think it intended to, but would do so anyway (cf. Isaiah 10:5-11).<\/p>\n We are seeing voices in that direction.<\/p>\n As far as the climate goes, the Bible shows that world efforts will not succeed and it will take the return of Jesus and the establishment of the Kingdom of God<\/a> to solve that (cf.
