The United States said it was ready to recognise Israel’s annexation of much of the West Bank, but asked the new unity government also to negotiate with the Palestinians.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has reached a power-sharing deal to remain in office after three inconclusive elections, has vowed to press ahead with annexations that the Palestinians say will shut the door on a two-state solution.<\/p>\n

A Middle East “vision” unveiled in January by US President Donald Trump gave a green light to annexations. Netanyahu’s coalition deal with centrist Benny Gantz agreed the cabinet would consult Washington before moving forward. …<\/p>\n

Palestinians have flatly rejected the Trump proposal, partly because it awards Israel most of what it has sought during decades of conflict, including nearly all the occupied land on which it has built settlements.<\/p>\n

The Palestinians have already threatened to cancel existing peace agreements if Netanyahu moves forward with his plan, while the EU foreign policy chief said annexation would be a violation of international law and force the bloc to “act accordingly”.<\/p>\n

The UN’s Middle East envoy said such a step would “ignite” the region.<\/p>\n

The Palestinians and much of the international community regard Israel’s settlements in the occupied West Bank as illegal under the Geneva Conventions that bar settling on land captured in war.<\/p>\n

Israel disputes this, citing security needs and biblical, historical and political connections to the land.<\/p>\n

A U.S. State Department spokesperson said …\u201cAs we have made consistently clear, we are prepared to recognize Israeli actions to extend Israeli sovereignty and the application of Israeli law to areas of the West Bank that the vision [U.S. President Donald Trump\u2019s \u201cPeace to Prosperity\u201d plan] foresees as being part of the State of Israel,\u201d the AFP quoted the spokesperson as saying.The spokesperson added however that this support would be \u201cin the context of the government of Israel agreeing to negotiate with the Palestinians along the lines set forth in President Trump\u2019s vision.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the terms of the unity agreement reached by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his main rival Benny Gantz of the Blue and White Party, the issue of extending Israeli sovereignty can be brought to the Knesset for a vote on July 1 at the earliest.<\/p>\n

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said last week that it was up to Israel whether or not to annex territory in Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley, and that discussions on the issue are taking place through private channels with the Israeli government. https:\/\/www.breakingisraelnews.com\/149367\/us-prepared-to-recognize-application-of-israeli-law-to-areas-of-judea-and-samaria\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Netanyahu Vows to Annex Jewish Settlements in West Bank<\/h2>\n

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that if re-elected, he would annex Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank.<\/p>\n

In an interview Saturday with Israeli Channel 12 News, Netanyahu said Israel would “go to the next stage” and retain control of the West Bank, imposing Israeli sovereignty without uprooting existing settlements.<\/p>\n

“I will give sovereignty, but I don’t differentiate between the settlement blocs and the isolated settlements, because from my perspective, any point of settlement is Israeli, and we have responsibility, as the Israeli government. I will not uproot anyone, and I will not transfer sovereignty to the Palestinians,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we have learned anything,\u201d Netanyahu continued, \u201cit is that when we abandon territories, Islamic extremism emerges immediately and slaughters us, and I won’t give them the heart of the state of Israel.”<\/p>\n

Netanyahu\u2019s comments appealed to small far-right parties and hardline voters, who object to ceding lands to the Palestinians.<\/p>\n

Settlements are one of the most heated issues in efforts to restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, frozen since 2014.<\/p>\n

A spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Nabil Abu Rdainah, told Reuters news agency that “any measures and any announcements will not change the facts. Settlements are illegal and they will be removed.” https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/a\/netanuahu-vows-to-annex-jewish-settlements-in-west-bank\/4865308.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That pledge by Benjamin Netanyahu came on the heels of US President Donald Trump’s endorsement of the Golan Heights being Israeli-controlled, instead of ‘Israeli-occupied’, territories (see Syria condemns Donald Trump\u2019s Golan Heights position as \u2018irresponsible.\u2019 Is destruction there prophesied during the Day of the Lord?<\/a> and US State Dept. Drops \u201cOccupied Territory\u201d From Golan Description & U.N. Human Rights Council set to condemn Israel for Golan \u2018occupation\u2019<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Benjamin Netanyahu has felt emboldened by various Trump Administration announcements.<\/p>\n

But he has basically only been ‘acting’ Prime Minister for quite some time as Israeli elections (there have been four) were indecisive–but after the fourth, Benjamin Netanyahu made a power-sharing deal with his main opponent Benny Gantz.<\/p>\n

Could this ultimately trigger war?<\/p>\n

The Arab League (see Arab League summit condemns Trump administration\u2019s Golan Heights policy<\/a>) and the Europeans (see https:\/\/www.israelhayom.com\/2020\/04\/24\/un-eu-warn-israel-against-pushing-annexation-plans\/<\/a>) do not go along with this. I expect some type of condemnation from the Arab League after it meets concerning this, as well as some type of further condemnation from the European Union.<\/p>\n

As far as peace goes, ever since Donald Trump originally announced his intention to move the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem on December 6, 2017, Palestinian leaders have stated that they did not want to work with US efforts on a peace plan (e.g. African leaders and Hamas against Deal of the Century, while Netanyahu plans to officially annex more land<\/a> and Palestinians consider Donald Trump\u2019s peace \u2018deal of the century\u2019 worthless<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Now, according to biblical prophecy some type of peace deal will come to the region BEFORE Jesus returns.<\/p>\n

It will be a temporary<\/strong> \u2018peace deal\u2019 (see the article The \u2018Peace Deal\u2019 of Daniel 9:27<\/a>). It will likely come after some devastation to Israel and others. It is likely that neither the Israelis nor the Palestinians will like the deal very much\u2013but decide to agree to it anyway, especially since it will have a time element. Now, the prophetic reality is that it will not end well for Israel. Lands that Israel currently claims will end up under control by those who are currently in opposition to Israel according to the Bible.<\/p>\n

A European leader will also be involved in this deal.<\/p>\n

Palestinian objections to US involvement will help insure that Europe is involved. The declaration by the Trump Administration related to the Golan Heights, with an opposing position by the EU, is showing more in the region (other than the tiny nation called Israel) that Europe is more inclined to push Arab positions related to peace and territory.<\/p>\n

This is consistent with various biblical prophecies.<\/p>\n

Now, let\u2019s look at Daniel 9:26-27 which shows European involvement in a coming \u2018peace deal\u2019:<\/p>\n

26 And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The \u2018one week\u2019 has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven year deal, that is broken in the middle of it (after 3 1\/2 years).<\/p>\n

There are several reasons that this \u201cprince\u201d in Daniel 9 is referring to the leader of the developing European empire (see King of the North<\/a> and Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation<\/a>). One is that it was the people of the Roman Empire of the 1st century that fulfilled the portion of Daniel 9:26 as they destroyed the city (Jerusalem) in 70 A.D. The European Union includes much of the land and peoples that were part of the ancient Roman Empire. And it is the \u201cprince\u201d coming from that people that verse 27 is referring to. Thus, this prophecy tells us that a lower level European leader will somewhat officially start to rise up about 3 1\/2 years before the Great Tribulation<\/a> (and yes, according to Jesus, some \u201ctribulation\u201d does happen prior to the start of the Great Tribulation<\/a>). Another is the fact that the \u201cbeast of the sea\u201d (Revelation 13:1) fits with the beasts from the \u201cgreat sea\u201d (Daniel 7:2)\u2013and that is the Mediterranean Sea according to the Old Testament\u2013hence this is an empire like the old Roman one (for more details, please see Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation<\/a>).<\/p>\n

After the deal is in place, many will think it is great. Yet, notice something that the Apostle Paul warned:<\/p>\n

3 For when they say, \u201cPeace and safety!\u201d then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. (1 Thessalonians 5:3-4)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Many will NOT understand but will be deceived about the temporal peace that will come.<\/p>\n

Despite current peace hopes, real lasting peace will not occur until the establishment of the true Kingdom of God<\/a> (Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3, Revelation 21).<\/p>\n

Until then, the Bible warns of conflict (Matthew 24:4-8), as well as times of false declarations of peace (e.g. 1 Thessalonians 5:3; Ezekiel 13:10-14).<\/p>\n

Christians need to watch and pray (Luke 21:36) and not be deceived like the world will be (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12).<\/p>\n

Tensions are rising in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

And we are seeing more and more that nations in the world are not pleased with decisions by the USA.<\/p>\n

This will lead to the fulfillment of many biblical prophecies.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, beyond the land in the Middle East being called ‘Samaria,’ the Bible points to the tribe of Manasseh being called ‘Samaria’–and the prophecies do not end well for the USA (cf. Isaiah 9:8-12,21; for more details, watch USA in Prophecy: Samaria<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Supporting Israel’s annexation of Judea-Samaria will be one more factor that separates the Europeans from the USA. This will not end well for the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39).<\/p>\n
