US President Donald Trump has said he wants to punish Germany for insufficient military spending by reducing US troop presence in that country:<\/p>\r\n

US President Donald Trump on Monday said he is cutting the number of US troops in Germany because Berlin is \u201cdelinquent\u201d in its contributions to Nato and treats the US \u201cbadly\u201d on trade.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

\r\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a tremendous cost to the United States,\u201d he said. \u201cSo we\u2019re removing a number down to, we\u2019re putting the number down to 25,000 soldiers.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

\r\n

There are around 34,500 US soldiers currently stationed in Germany along with additional civilian personnel.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

\r\n

The president complained to reporters that Germany does not spend enough on defence as required by the Nato alliance. Be careful what you wish for. The Germans are not happy about this:<\/p>\r\n

The troop withdrawal plan raised fresh questions about Trump’s commitment to longstanding cooperation agreements with European allies and the Western military alliance itself.<\/p>\r\n

Earlier this month, US media reports said Trump was planning to pull some troops stationed in Germany. The reports caused alarm among some German politicians …<\/p>\r\n

German Ambassador to the US, Emily Haber, responded to Trump’s announcement saying that the US troops were in Europe to defend trans-Atlantic security and help the US project its global power.<\/p>\r\n

“US troops…are not there to defend Germany. They are there to defend the trans-Atlantic security. They are also there to project American power in Africa, in Asia,” Haber said at a virtual event hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations. 06\/16\/20 https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/trump-to-cut-us-troop-numbers-in-germany\/a-53822850<\/a><\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The USA will not like what will happen in Europe regarding its military spending. And it recently objected to some of the military projects that the Europeans wish to spend money on (see US warns EU against projects like PESCO: This will not turn out well for the US<\/a>).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The USA is pushing Germany towards World War III and the Apocalypse. Now, let me add that the idea that WWIII will be led by a German-dominated Europe is not a new one.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The old Radio and Worldwide Church of God long expected Germany to rise up militarily and dominate Europe. Here are some quotes from the last century:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Germany and World War III<\/strong> … Germany is … going to spark World War III! Notice the prophecies! “O Asshur, the rod of Mine anger,” declares God. Here is a prophecy concerning Germany \u2014 the descendants of Asshur today! “The staff,” says God, “in their hand is Mine indignation. I will send him against an hypocritical nation (that is, Israel \u2014 America and Britain today), and… I will give him a charge to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets” (Isaiah 10:5-6). Our sins are mounting to heaven itself.<\/blockquote>\r\n
And God is going to punish us by the very nation whom we have tried to buy for an ally! It is God who is going to permit the revival of Germany \u2014 this time in a gigantic union of 10 European powers united with a great religious power \u2014 to punish us in World War III. We won two major wars against Germany in one generation. But the third time God is going to punish us as we have never been punished before! The sword of war is going to strike us “the third time” (Ezekiel 21:14), and we are going to be led away captive to Assyria and to all nations (Isaiah 11:10-12). (Hoeh H. If you were God, and the nation of Israel had rebelled against you, and you wished to punish them for that rebellion -and you were going to use another nation<\/em> as a rod in your hand to punish them-what nation would you<\/em> pick? What nation would be best equipped <\/em>to deal the crushing blow, that would grind us under its heel in cruel oppression until we turned our hearts to God and asked Him to forgive us for OUR sins, and asked Him to save us?<\/blockquote>\r\n
The nation God picked was Germany!<\/em><\/blockquote>\r\n
Just as the modern nations of the United States and Great Britain are refer red to in the Bible as Israel, so the modern nation of Germany is referred to as ancient Assyria! \u2026 \u201cO Assyrian, the rod of MINE anger<\/em>, and the staff in their hand is MINE indignation<\/em>, I WILL SEND HIM against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath (rebellious Israel) will I give him a charge (command), to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets<\/em>\u201d (Isa. 10:5,6).<\/blockquote>\r\n
Yes , God is going to rake the nation of Germany as the head of a United Europe into his hand as a club<\/em> to punish the nations of Israel for their rebellion against Him! Howbeit he meanth not so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy<\/em> and cut off nations not a few\u201d (vs. 7). Germany, those living in Germany, even the German government, may not yet know that they are going to join in a treaty with the Russians to destroy the United States and bring it to its knees-it is not in his \u201cheart\u201d to think so, but on the other hand it IS in his \u201cheart\u201d to destroy-the very characteristic of the Assyrian, the modern German, is a harsh, cruel, iron, dedication to militarism and destruction!<\/em> This is just the kind of nation God needs to use as a rod in His hand to punish His people!<\/blockquote>\r\n
Does this then mean that the Germans at the head of a United Europe do have a spiritual mission to perform? Does this mean that they are right<\/em> in claiming to be the \u201cDefenders of the West\u201d and the champions of Christianity!?<\/blockquote>\r\n

God\u2019s Destiny for Germany<\/strong><\/blockquote>\r\n
Despite the fact that it is God who will use Germany to destroy America, Germany must be destroyed as well for HER rebellion against God<\/em>\u2014\u201cI will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. For he saith, by the strength of my<\/em> hand I have done it, and by my<\/em> wisdom; for I am prudent!\u201d (Is. 10:12,13)<\/blockquote>\r\n
The leaders of a United Europe, when they succeed against the United States, will begin to think THEIR prudent planning, THEIR wise ideas and THEIR powerful might<\/em> have made them successful! They will not realize that they have only been used as a base<\/em> tool of destruction in the hand of the Almighty God! \u201cShall the axe boast itself against him that hews therewith? Or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod<\/em> should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood\u201d (Isa. 10:15). God explains here that despite the fact that He has used<\/em> Assyria to punish Israel, Assyria is also <\/em>rebellious against His law and government, His way, and since it will magnify itself against the very God of creation, as Dan. 11: 36 and 37 explain, GOD WILL HAVE TO PUNISH IT FOR THIS.<\/em> So GOD<\/em> says, \u201cThe Lord of hosts has sworn. saying, Surely as I have thought<\/em>, so SHALL IT COME TO PASS: and as I have purposed<\/em>, so SHALL IT STAND; That I will break the Assyrian in my land<\/em>, and upon my mountains TREAD HIM UNDER FOOT: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their (the Israelites) shoulders\u201d (Isa.14: 24,25).<\/blockquote>\r\n
Just shortly before Jesus Christ Himself intervenes in this world\u2019s affairs. He will take another nation as a punishing club in His hands and punish the proud Assyrians,<\/em> the modern Germans at the head of the United States of Europe. \u201cBehold, I will stir up the Medes<\/a><\/em> against them, which shall nor regard silver; and as for gold they shall not delight in it \u2026 Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children. And Babylon (the modern resurrected and revived Roman Empire, dominated by a fascist Germany), the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees\u2019 excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah!\u201d (Is. 13: 17-19.) \u2026<\/blockquote>\r\n

PESCO and a Great European Army<\/a> In November 2018, French President Macron called for a “true European army” because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted “a very strong Europe.” Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as “my friend” and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe’s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with “a great army”? Has Donald Trump’s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? There will be many unintended consequences from Donald Trump’s announcement. Consequences that few in the USA have any idea will happen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Consider that Lamentations 1:1-2, indicates that the USA will be betrayed and destroyed militarily by its “friends.” A German-dominated Europe does not have to be stronger in all areas than the USA, only strong enough to win when the USA is not expecting it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The late Herbert W. Armstrong<\/a> wrote about WWIII’s timing and how he thought it would begin:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

World War 3 brings with it THE GREAT TRIBULATION. That is now next in order. But Jesus, in foretelling this chain of world events, said the GREAT TRIBULATION would be preceded by the world-wide proclaiming of HIS Gospel. “The GOSPEL must first be published among all nations,” said Jesus (Mark 13:10), or, as recorded by Matthew (24:14): “This Gospel OF THE KINGDOM shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto ALL NATIONS; and THEN shall the END (of the world) come.” (Armstrong HW. Notice that the UK, USA, and Canada are mentioned in the above writing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Brexit will be a factor for the end of the UK. Donald Trump is a factor pushing Europe to one day end the USA. And Canada, as a strong ally of the USA and UK will essentially be collateral damage.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The vote by the United Kingdom to leave the European Union on June 23, 2016 (called the Brexit), shocked Europe as did the election of Donald Trump on November 8, 2016. Europe made progress on its Galileo satellite system (Schmidt F. Galileo navigation satellite system goes live. Deutsche Welle, December 15, 2016) and stellarator projects in late 2016. The fact that Donald Trump made statements in 2016 that the USA may not be under obligation to defend NATO members that do not pay their share also shocked Europe (Sanger DE, Haberman M. Donald Trump Sets Conditions for Defending NATO Allies Against Attack. New York Times, July 20, 2016).<\/blockquote>\r\n
Add to that the fact that since Donald Trump won the presidential election, various people in Europe are in an uproar. Notice: President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker has renewed calls for setting up a separate army for the European continent hours after Donald Trump was elected as the 45th President of the US. Juncker said that the EU cannot rely on America in the long run as Washington would not be able to ensure security of Europeans (Sridharan V. Juncker warns EU cannot rely on US and renews call for separate European army after Trump’s victory. IBT, November 10, 2016).<\/blockquote>\r\n
The United Kingdom, was an advocate for the USA and NATO, had vigorously opposed the development of a European army. Yet citing the Brexit vote and Donald Trump\u2019s election, we are seeing calls for an \u201cautonomous\u201d \u201cEuropean army\u201d (Biscop S, Lindley-French J. DEBATE: What are the real prospects for strengthened European defence? NATO magazine, December 21, 2016; Rettman A. Ceci n’est pas une EU army. EUObserver, January 3, 2017).<\/blockquote>\r\n
Notice also the following from the Washington Times<\/em>: A European Union army is not in America\u2019s interests<\/strong> Germany, France and Italy \u2014 cling to delusions of grandeur. They have drawn up plans for a European Union army and deeper EU defense integration, claiming that this will enhance European security. An EU army, however, is not the solution to Europe\u2019s problems. It will undercut NATO, reduce U.S. influence in Europe, and strengthen the strategic position of Vladimir Putin\u2019s Russia (Gardiner N. European Union army is not in America\u2019s interests. Washington Times, October 31, 2016).<\/blockquote>\r\n
While it is true that such an army will reduce U.S. influence and not work out in America\u2019s interests, it is not delusional to believe that there will be a European army. Since the Bible says Europe will have a \u201cgreat army\u201d (Daniel 11:25), Europe will end up with a great army. Donald Trump\u2019s rise has encouraged some in Europe to more publicly promote this idea. Donald Trump seems to be a catalyst for that and other militaristic moves in Europe. …<\/blockquote>\r\n
Donald Trump\u2019s rise has also spurred the Europeans to further unify among themselves, especially when combined with the Brexit vote that Donald Trump encouraged. While the Bible shows the Europeans will have difficulties being together (Daniel 2:41-43), it also shows that they will reorganize and unite (Revelation 17:12-13). Donald Trump has been pointed to by various European leaders as \u2018proof\u2019 that Europe needs more unification and distance from the USA. (Thiel B. Donald Trump and America\u2019s Apocalypse<\/a>. Nazarene Books, 2017)<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Donald Trump and Brexit are factors in Europe in general, and Germany in particular, developing its military. The Bible clearly teaches that Europe will have a “great army” (Daniel 11:25).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

World events are showing that we are getting closer to the start of the Great Tribulation (see also When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?<\/a>).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

WWIII will involve the destruction of the USA and its British-descended allies and steps are being taken by Germany and others in Europe. The USA will regret what it has pushed for (cf. Daniel 11:39).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
