Armed police, who had disappeared from the streets of Cairo as the uprising gained momentum, waited behind metal fences…

Thursday’s demonstrations unfolded with vigor despite escalating fears of a government crackdown. Key government officials have sought to portray an immediate departure for Mubarak as a recipe for absolute mayhem and warned of military intervention.

“Do we want the armed forces to assume the responsibility of stabilizing the nation through imposing martial law and the army in the streets?” Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said on PBS’ “NewsHour” Wednesday.

“For the army to rule, to step in, to put its friends on the scene, that would be a very dangerous possibility,” he said. http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/africa/02/10/egypt.protests/

Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak has said he will stay in office and transfer all power only after September’s presidential election. All of this is likely to end up with an interim government that ultimately will be replaced by some type of Islamic government that will ultimately support a pan-Arabic leader. The coming King of the South, apparently referred to as the Imam Mahdi and/or Caliph in various Muslim writings, is getting closer to rising up.

Some articles of possibly related interest may include:

Prophecies of Barack Obama? This article has eight reasons why Barack Obama is apocalyptic and eight reasons why Barack Obama is not the Antichrist.
