We also have had wildfires again:<\/p>\n August 17, 2020<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Now, there is a report of even higher temperatures in California:<\/p>\n 17 August 2020<\/p>\n What could be the highest temperature ever reliably recorded on Earth – 130F (54.4C) – may have been reached in Death Valley National Park, California.<\/p>\n The recording is being verified by the US National Weather Service.<\/p>\n It comes amid a heatwave on the US’s west coast, where temperatures are forecast to rise further this week.<\/p>\n The scorching conditions have led to two days of blackouts in California, after a power plant malfunctioned on Saturday.<\/p>\n Sunday’s reading was recorded in Furnace Creek in Death Valley.<\/p>\n Before this, the highest temperature reliably recorded on Earth was 129.2F (54C) – also in Death Valley in 2013.<\/p>\n A higher reading of 134F, or 56.6C a century earlier, also in Death Valley, is disputed. It is believed by some modern weather experts to have been erroneous, along with several other searing temperatures recorded that summer. https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-53788018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Whether or not this is the highest temperature ever in the world can be debated. But what cannot be debated is that what was just recorded was very hot.<\/p>\n The Bible shows that God uses weather to get people’s attention. Sometimes to punish, sometimes to lead to repentance, and other times to consider that God, not humankind, is in control.<\/p>\n DO NOT THINK THAT WEATHER ISSUES ARE LIMITED TO CALIFORNIA!<\/p>\n Heat will one day be much worse around the world:<\/p>\n 8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. (Revelation 16:8-9)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Notice also the following about heat:<\/p>\n 23 \u2018The whole land is brimstone, salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah<\/strong>, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and His wrath.\u2019 24 All nations would say, \u2018Why has the Lord done so to this land? Shortly after the start of the Thomas Fire, then California Governor Jerry Brown warned that the US President did not have \u201cthe fear of the wrath of God.\u201d Does God use fire to encourage people to change? Here are some examples:<\/p>\n 11 The Lord said:<\/p>\n “Surely it will be well with your remnant; 12 O house of David! Thus says the Lord:<\/p>\n “Execute judgment in the morning; 13 “Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, 11 The Lord has fulfilled His fury, 15 There the fire will devour you, My prayers are with those affected by the fires.<\/p>\n I, who also live in California, also pray that those in California will repent as worse problems are ahead if it continues to go in a moral direction away from the Bible. California set a bad standard when it became the first USA state to outlaw attempts to convert homosexuals from that ‘lifestyle’ (see California\u2019s Brown Signs Anti-Homosexual Conversion Bill<\/a>). Additionally, the State of California has made a bunch of anti-biblical anti-truth laws to promote the LGBTQ agenda (see \u2018California To Have Harsher Penalty For Pronoun Violations Than For Knowingly Spreading HIV\u2019<\/span><\/a> and Ba\u2019al-ifornia: California\u2019s intent to change gender definitions<\/a>). Plus California has other issues where it is also setting very bad examples (such as the production of pornographic entertainment).<\/p>\n Weather problems can be a warning to people that society is going in the wrong direction (Amos 4:7-12). Notice also God’s use of fire between three thousand and four thousand years ago:<\/p>\n 24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n And why did it happen?<\/p>\n 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah<\/strong>, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example<\/strong>, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Why mention this in the 21st century? Because God turned:<\/p>\n 6\u2026the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes<\/strong>, condemned them to destruction, making them an example<\/strong> to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Notice also the following:<\/p>\n 11 \u201cI overthrew some of you, 12 \u201cTherefore thus will I do to you, O Israel; Fires should get people to consider. But will people in the USA or the other Anglo-descended areas heed?<\/p>\n As regular readers of this page are aware, I have repeatedly warned of weather problems coming. Yes, it is rare to have a thunderstorm here in August. The above Lake Fire was NOT the only wildfire in California in the past couple of days. There was one in Nipomo, which is about 10 miles away from where I am writing this post. My wife and I smelled the smoke from it.<\/div>\nWhat were the previous records?<\/h2>\n
