{"id":6443,"date":"2011-02-22T19:00:06","date_gmt":"2011-02-23T03:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/?p=6443"},"modified":"2011-02-22T19:28:32","modified_gmt":"2011-02-23T03:28:32","slug":"gaddafi-vows-to-fight-to-death-and-he-may-end-up-that-way","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/gaddafi-vows-to-fight-to-death-and-he-may-end-up-that-way\/","title":{"rendered":"Gaddafi Vows to Fight to Death, and He May End Up That Way"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/Muammar_al-Gaddafi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"312\" \/><br \/>\nMuammar al-Gaddafi<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/cogwriter.htm\">COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Libya&#8217;s problems seem to be getting even more violent:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2>Gaddafi refuses to cede power; protesters win backing of defectors<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"byline\">By <a title=\"Send an e-mail to Sudarsan Raghavan\" href=\"http:\/\/projects.washingtonpost.com\/staff\/articles\/sudarsan+raghavan\/\">Sudarsan Raghavan<\/a><\/div>\n<p>Washington Post Foreign Service<br \/>\nTuesday, February 22, 2011; 9:31 PM<\/p>\n<p>SANAA, YEMEN &#8211;  Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi defiantly vowed Tuesday to  &#8220;fight until the last drop of my blood&#8221; to maintain his 41-year hold on  power, and he called on supporters to reclaim control after a week of  rebellion that has left his government&#8217;s authority in tatters.<\/p>\n<p>Facing a violent popular revolt backed by high-level defections, Gaddafi  cast an ominous tone in a 70-minute address, referring to China&#8217;s forceful response in the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown to suggest  that his regime, too, would use as much force as necessary to stay in  power.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I will not leave the country,&#8221; Gaddafi declared in the rambling,  televised speech, delivered from the remains of a presidential palace  destroyed in a 1986 U.S. air raid. &#8220;I will die as a martyr at the end.&#8221;  He showed no remorse for attacks launched by his loyalists against his  citizens, vowing instead to &#8220;cleanse Libya house by house.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With rebels apparently controlling much of the eastern half of the  country, the violence engulfing Libya is already the worst in more than a  month of unrest that has toppled regimes in Tunisia and Egypt as it spread across North Africa and the Middle East.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2011\/02\/22\/AR2011022203488.html\">http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2011\/02\/22\/AR2011022203488.html<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"MAA4AEgBUABgAWoCdXM\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2011\/02\/22\/AR2011022207366.html\" target=\"_self\">In <strong>Libya<\/strong>, increasingly divergent views of Gaddafi<\/a> <a><\/a><br \/>\n<input name=\"star-id\" type=\"hidden\" value=\"AFQjCNGkp_SwCv_0C7Pcb8DdS_bsJJWU4Q\" \/> <input name=\"star-url\" type=\"hidden\" value=\"\/star?cf=all&amp;ned=us&amp;hl=en&amp;docUrl=http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2011\/02\/22\/AR2011022207366.html&amp;docId=5274815713338238545&amp;cid=8797663906825&amp;title=In+Libya,+increasingly+divergent+views+of+Gaddafi&amp;viewed=1298429595\" \/> <input name=\"unstar-url\" type=\"hidden\" value=\"\/star?cf=all&amp;ned=us&amp;hl=en&amp;docUrl=http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2011\/02\/22\/AR2011022207366.html\" \/><\/h2>\n<div>Washington Post\u00a0&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/news.google.com\/news\/search?cf=all&amp;ned=us&amp;hl=en&amp;q=author:%22Leila+Fadel%22&amp;scoring=n\">Leila Fadel<\/a> &#8211; \u200e16 minutes ago\u200e<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>TOBRUK, <strong>LIBYA<\/strong> &#8211; On <strong>Libya&#8217;s<\/strong> northeastern border, there are no visa procedures and no  passport-control officers. There&#8217;s just a gaggle of armed young men &#8211;  defected soldiers and police officers &#8211; waving people through&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Our leader is a tyrant and he&#8217;ll kill us all in cold blood,&#8221; said  Hassan el-Modeer, a British-educated engineer. &#8220;The world needs to  intervene as soon as possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Opposition supporters described this area to visitors as the &#8220;liberated  eastern region of Libya,&#8221; and anti-government sentiment here runs high.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>After watching the news on television late tonight, and seeing the first headline in the <em>Washington Post<\/em>, the following scripture came to mind:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>24 Then the fingers of the hand were sent from Him, and this writing was written.<\/p>\n<p>25 &#8220;And this is the inscription that was written:<\/p>\n<p>MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.<\/p>\n<p>26 This is the interpretation of each word. Mene: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; 27 Tekel: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; 28 Peres: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.&#8221;\u00a0 29 Then Belshazzar gave the command, and they clothed Daniel with purple and put a chain of gold around his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.\u00a0 (Daniel 5:24-29, NKJV)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now, I am not saying that he will be gone by tomorrow, but the protesters seem to want his head now.\u00a0 And they may end up getting it.\u00a0 On the other hand, Moammar Gaddafi&#8217;s history of brutality may result in having him hold out for a while, but the alignment of world events and end time prophecy continues to be fulfilled.\u00a0 The &#8220;handwriting is on the wall&#8221;.\u00a0 The King of the South is getting close to rising up.<\/p>\n<p>And while Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, in the past, has indicated that he wanted to lead Islam and Africa (see <a title=\"Permanent Link to Qaddafi Hailed as \u201cKing of Kings\u201d\" rel=\"bookmark\" href=\"\/news\/prophecy\/qaddafi-hailed-as-king-of-kings\/\">Qaddafi Hailed as \u201cKing of Kings\u201d<\/a>), I never really felt he would be the final <a href=\"\/south.htm\">King of the South<\/a>.  But in the current Middle East turmoil, the seeds seem to be being set for the rise of that leader.<\/p>\n<p>Watch (cf.
