Speaking at a campaign rally in North Carolina, the US president told supporters he had a duty to nominate a candidate to fill the supreme court vacancy created by the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. ‘It will be a woman,’ Trump said. ‘A very talented, very brilliant woman.’ https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/video\/2020\/sep\/20\/donald-trump-pledges-nominate-woman-supreme-court-video<\/a><\/p>\n

Trump Says He Will Nominate a Woman to Succeed Ginsburg on Supreme Court<\/h2>\n

President Donald Trump said he would nominate a woman to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court, following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.<\/p>\n

“I will be putting forth a nominee next week. It will be a woman,” Trump said Saturday at a campaign rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina. “I think it should be a woman because I actually like women much more than men.”<\/p>\n

As Trump spoke, supporters chanted: “Fill that seat.”<\/p>\n

Earlier, he praised two women as possible choices for the U.S. Supreme Court: conservatives he had elevated to federal appeals courts.<\/p>\n

Trump, with a chance to nominate a third justice to a lifetime appointment, named Amy Coney Barrett of the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and Barbara Lagoa of the Atlanta-based 11th Circuit as possible nominees.<\/p>\n

Ginsburg’s death on Friday from cancer after 27 years on the court handed Trump, who is seeking re-election on November 3, the opportunity to expand its conservative majority to 6-3.<\/p>\n

Any nomination would require approval in the Senate, where Trump’s Republicans hold a 53-47 majority. 09\/19\/20 https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/usa\/trump-says-he-will-nominate-woman-succeed-ginsburg-supreme-court<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Thus, according to US President Donald Trump, he will nominate a woman because he likes them more than men.<\/p>\n

So much for nominating the person with the best character to be considered.<\/p>\n

Notice biblical criteria for appointing judges:<\/p>\n

21 Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. (Exodus 18:21)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course, a woman is not a man, being a person of truth does not seem to be a criteria for Donald Trump. Also, since he does not hate covetousness, he would not be expected to consider that a disqualifier.<\/p>\n

Now, his Democratic presidential opponent, Joe Biden, stated earlier this year that he would select a woman to be his vice-presidential choice.<\/p>\n

Again, based first on gender and not on being the most qualified person. In the case of Joe Biden, he selected the staunch abortionist, Kamela Harris.<\/p>\n

We should reasonably soon see who Donald Trump selects.<\/p>\n

The Bible itself warns that if the children of Israel sinned and did not repent, the following would happen:<\/p>\n

12<\/sup> As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, we see a specific biblical prophecy warning of a time where there will be female rulers. And actually, having had women like Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the US Supreme Court and Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, women have been rulers to a significant degree.<\/p>\n

Donald Trump is hoping to continue that ‘legacy,’ if he can get his Supreme Court nominee approved.<\/p>\n

Getting back to scripture, the Bible also warns:<\/p>\n

16 <\/sup>For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed. (Isaiah 9:16)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We are in the last days and related to those, the Apostle Paul warned:<\/p>\n

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Many of those statements apply to modern political leaders, including judges.<\/p>\n

Without national repentance the USA is doomed (cf. Habakkuk 2:6-8).<\/p>\n

Politicians and judges will not truly fix the problems in the USA. It will take the return of Jesus Christ<\/a> and the establishment of the Kingdom of God<\/a> to do that.<\/p>\n
