Senate Judiciary Committee Approves Barrett Supreme Court Nomination Despite Democrats’ Boycott<\/h2>\n

October 23, 2020<\/p>\n

The Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee has approved Judge Amy Coney Barrett\u2019s nomination to the Supreme Court, sending the matter to the full Senate for consideration.<\/p>\n

Democrats on the committee boycotted the vote Thursday, resulting in a 12-0 vote in favor of the nomination. …<\/p>\n

Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham said the Democrats boycotting the vote \u201cdoes a disservice to Judge Barrett who deserves a vote, up or down.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Republicans holding a 53-47 majority in the Senate, Graham expressed optimism about the prospects for Barrett\u2019s nomination.<\/p>\n

\u201cJudge Barrett deserves to be on the Supreme Court and she will be confirmed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell plans to follow the Judiciary Committee\u2019s vote with a procedural vote in the full Senate on Sunday that could bring a final vote on Barrett\u2019s nomination on Monday.<\/p>\n

If Barrett is confirmed to the lifetime appointment, the Supreme Court would have a 6-3 conservative majority. https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/usa\/senate-judiciary-committee-approves-barrett-supreme-court-nomination-despite-democrats-boycott<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Although the framers of the US Constitution hoped that the judicial branch would not be political, it certainly has become so.<\/p>\n

And the judges themselves, often have political agendas.<\/p>\n

Notice biblical criteria for appointing judges:<\/p>\n

21 Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. (Exodus 18:21)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course, a woman is not a man, and being a person of truth does not seem to be a criteria for being nominated. Since neither the Republicans or the Democrats hate covetousness, they do not consider being covetous is a disqualifier.<\/p>\n

Now, I am not saying that Amy Coney Barrett is less honest or more covetous than the woman she is replacing–only that the biblical criteria were not stated as the initial reason to nominate Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s replacement.<\/p>\n

Amy Coney Barrett is considered to be anti-abortion. Plus in 2015, she signed a letter publicly stating that marriage is between a man and a woman, which enraged the LGBTQ crowd and its supporters.<\/p>\n

In general, Democrats and liberals are strongly opposed to her nomination for political reasons. More debates about her are to happen through the weekend:<\/p>\n

The full Senate will begin debate Friday on the confirmation of Supreme Court<\/a> nominee Amy Coney Barrett<\/a> ahead of an expected final vote on Monday.<\/p>\n

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell<\/a> said this week the Senate will remain in session over the weekend to debate Barrett’s appointment, President Donald Trump<\/a>‘s third to the high court since he took office nearly four years ago. https:\/\/www.upi.com\/Top_News\/US\/2020\/10\/23\/Senate-begins-debate-on-Supreme-Court-nominee-Amy-Coney-Barrett\/5981603447432\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This nomination has been another show of the deep division that is in the USA. As Jesus stated:<\/p>\n

25 … Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. (Matthew 12:25)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Bible itself warns that if the children of Israel sinned and did not repent, the following would happen:<\/p>\n

12<\/sup> As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, we see a specific biblical prophecy warning of a time where there will be female rulers. And actually, having had women like Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the US Supreme Court and Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, women have been rulers to a significant degree in the USA. Plus, if the Biden-Harris ticket wins, expect Kamala Harris to have a lot more influence than most of the past vice-presidents that the USA has had–her husband called her “the next President of the United States\u201d” (see DW: Final US presidential debate: \u2018A win for Trump\u2019<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Donald Trump, himself, is hoping to continue that ‘legacy,’ presuming he can get his Supreme Court nominee approved.<\/p>\n

Notice also the following about Amy Coney Barrett:<\/p>\n

In September 2017, The New York Times<\/a><\/i> reported that Barrett was an active member of a small, tightly knit Charismatic<\/a> Christian group called People of Praise<\/a>.[86]<\/a><\/sup>[87]<\/a><\/sup> Founded in South Bend, the group is associated with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal<\/a> movement; it is ecumenical<\/a> and not formally affiliated with the Catholic Church, but approximately 90 percent of its members are Catholic.<\/sup> (Amy Coney Barrett. The Bible warns against the ecumenical movement that is emerging in the world in Revelation 13.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, true Christians do not want to be part of it. Notice the following from the Apostle Paul:<\/p>\n

17 … “Come out from among them
\nAnd be separate, says the Lord.
\nDo not touch what is unclean,
\nAnd I will receive you.” (2 Corinthians 6:17)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yes, true Christians do not support the ecumenical movement.<\/p>\n

Getting back to leaders, the Bible also warns:<\/p>\n

16 <\/sup>For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed. (Isaiah 9:16)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We are in the last days and related to those, the Apostle Paul warned:<\/p>\n

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Many of those statements apply to modern political leaders, including judges and people who wish to be president.<\/p>\n

Without national repentance the USA is doomed (cf. Habakkuk 2:6-8).<\/p>\n

Another female judge or a possible female vice-president (Kamala Harris, who would be expected to often function as the de facto<\/em> president) will not truly fix the problems in the USA.<\/p>\n

Its British-descended allies of the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have all had female prime ministers, none of which believed truly obeying the Bible.<\/p>\n

It will take the return of Jesus Christ<\/a> and the establishment of the Kingdom of God<\/a> to solve the problems facing the USA, its British-descended allies, and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n
