The Imperial College London team found the number of people testing positive for antibodies has fallen by 26% between June and September.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

They say immunity appears to be fading and there is a risk of catching the virus multiple times.\u00a0 …<\/p>\n

“Immunity is waning quite rapidly, we’re only three months after our first [round of tests] and we’re already showing a 26% decline in antibodies,” said Prof Helen Ward, one of the researchers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Antibodies stick to the surface of the coronavirus to stop it invading our body’s cells and attacking the rest of the immune system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Exactly what the antibody drop means for immunity is still uncertain. There are other parts of the immune system, such as T-cells, which may also play a role, directly killing infected host cells and calling to other immune cells to help out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

However, the researchers warn antibodies tend to be highly predictive of who is protected. …<\/p>\n

Professor Paul Elliott, director of the REACT-2 study, said …: “The vaccine response may behave differently to the response to natural infection.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The arrival of the first COVID-19 vaccine will not mean people can throw their masks away, experts say.<\/p>\n

Face coverings, social distancing and rigorous hand-washing still will be required for some time. How long depends on factors including how good the vaccines are and how long protection lasts \u2014 questions that will not be answered when the first shots arrive.<\/p>\n

For starters, a vaccine may not be 100% effective.<\/p>\n

“This vaccine is not likely to be a suit of armor,” said Vanderbilt University Medical Center infectious disease professor William Schaffner.<\/p>\n

Seasonal influenza vaccines<\/a>, for example, have ranged from 60% effective at best to 10% at worst in recent years.<\/p>\n

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration<\/a> has set the bar for COVID-19 vaccine efficacy at 50%.<\/p>\n

A partially effective vaccine might help high-risk groups such as front-line health workers or those with underlying health problems, but it might not be right for the general population, said former U.S. Food and Drug Administration Chief Scientist Jesse Goodman, an infectious disease professor at Georgetown University.<\/p>\n

“Certainly that’s not the vaccine you would ideally immunize 300 million people with,” he said. “Even if everybody was immunized, that’s probably not enough immunity in the population to stop the virus from spreading.”<\/p>\n

Vaccinated but infectious\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the plus side, even a less-than-perfect vaccine could help if it means people get less severe illnesses and stay out of the hospital, experts noted. People who get flu shots tend to get milder cases than the unvaccinated, even when the vaccine is not very effective.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, “there is the risk that even the vaccinated people may unconsciously spread infection,” Goodman said.<\/p>\n

Some experts call this a “worst-case scenario”: a vaccine that works well enough to prevent patients from getting sick, but not well enough to stop them from spreading the virus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The vaccine could produce an immune response that does not completely block the virus, but tamps it down enough so that the patient does not develop symptoms.<\/p>\n

However, asymptomatic patients can still be infectious. That is one of the factors that makes COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, so hard to control.<\/p>\n

Also, the vaccine may not protect everyone equally.<\/p>\n

There may be “big, big differences” in how children, adolescents, adults and seniors respond to a vaccine, said University of Pittsburgh Center for Vaccine Research Director Paul Duprex. Influenza vaccines tend to not work as well in older people, for example.<\/p>\n

People with some underlying health conditions may respond better or worse than others. Also, there may be differences among different ethnic groups.<\/p>\n

Governments have liked having lockdown and other powers, so do not expect all COVID-blamed restrictions to go away immediately. But because many restrictions were more political than scientific, we may see the media’s attitudes change towards COVID after the USA election next week.<\/p>\n

As far as vaccines go, notice that a study found that those over 65 who got the flu vaccine were more likely to die from COVID-19:<\/p>\n

Positive Association Found Amongst COVID Deaths & Flu Shot Rates Worldwide In Elderly<\/h2>\n

A recently published study<\/a> in\u00a0PeerJ<\/em>\u00a0 by Christian Wehenkel, a Professor at\u00a0Universidad Ju\u00e1rez del Estado de Durango in Mexico, has found a positive association between COVID-19 deaths and influenza vaccination rates in elderly people worldwide.<\/p>\n

According to the study, \u201cThe results showed a positive association between COVID-19 deaths and IVR (influenza vaccination rate) of people \u226565 years-old. There is a significant increase in COVID-19 deaths from eastern to western regions in the world. Further exploration is needed to explain these findings, and additional work on this line of research may lead to prevention of deaths associated with COVID-19.\u201d<\/p>\n

To determine this association, data sets from 39 countries with more than half a million people were analyzed.<\/p>\n

The study was published on October 1st, and two weeks later a note from the publisher appeared atop the paper emphasizing that correlation does not equal causation, and that this paper \u201cshould not be taken to suggest that receiving the influenza vaccination results in an increased risk of death for an individual with COVID-19 as there may be confounding factors at play.\u201d<\/p>\n

The paper provides evidence from others which have recently been published that ponder if the flu shot could increase ones chance of contracting and dying from COVID-19.<\/p>\n

For example, this<\/a> study published in April of 2020, reported a negative correlation between influenza vaccination rates (IVRs) and COVID-19 related mortality and morbidity.\u00a0Mar\u00edn-Hern\u00e1ndez, Schwartz & Nixon (2020)<\/a> also showed epidemiological evidence of an association between higher influenza vaccine uptake by elderly people and lower percentage of COVID-19 deaths in Italy, which directly contradicts the author\u2019s own findings and suggests that the flu shot may help prevent COVID-19 related deaths. https:\/\/www.collective-evolution.com\/2020\/10\/25\/positive-association-found-amongst-covid-deaths-flu-shot-rates-worldwide-in-elderly\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now, this does not prove that vaccines are the cause. It may be that those who are less healthy tend to get vaccines. But, the study supports the view that getting a vaccine is not sufficiently boosting overall immunity.<\/p>\n

Of course, the mainstream is highly pushing flu shots this year. And a study of hospital workers (as opposed to say, older retired people) suggests that those who get the flu shot may be less likely to get COVID:<\/p>\n

U.S. health officials are urging Americans to get their flu shots this year in the hopes of thwarting a winter \u201ctwindemic<\/a>\u201d\u2014a situation in which both influenza and COVID-19 spread and sicken the public. But a new study suggests that there could be another key reason to get a flu jab this year: it might reduce your risk of COVID-19<\/a>. The research, released as a preprint that has not yet been peer-reviewed, indicates that a flu vaccine against the influenza virus may also trigger the body to produce broad infection-fighting molecules that combat the pandemic-causing coronavirus. …<\/p>\n

In the new study, Mihai Netea, an infectious disease immunologist at Radboud University Medical Center in the Netherlands, and his colleagues combed through their hospital\u2019s databases to see if employees who got a flu shot during the 2019\u20132020 season were more or less likely to get infected by SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind COVID-19. Workers who received a flu vaccine, the researchers found, were 39 percent less likely to test positive for the coronavirus as of June 1, 2020. …<\/p>\n

\u201cAs far as telling people, \u2018You should go get a flu vaccine because it can protect you from COVID,\u2019 that’s a little bit of a stretch at this point,\u201d Foxman says. But, she adds, people should still go get the flu shot … https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/a-flu-shot-might-reduce-coronavirus-infections-early-research-suggests\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Perhaps the flu shot reduces the risk of getting COVID for some, but it is not proven to reduce the risk of dying from COVID as the other report pointed out.<\/p>\n

For what it\u2019s worth, I do not get the flu shot. When I was in the US military in the 1970s, I was required to get it once or twice (I tried to object, but military rules forced it)–but I have not gotten one since. Nor have has my wife nor any of our children.<\/p>\n

Superbugs, antibiotics, and vaccines<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released a report in November 2019 that stated that an American died every 15 minutes from an antibiotic-resistant infection. It reported that an additional one dies about every 45 minutes from Clostridioides difficile. Another CDC report warned of the superbug Candida auris. In China, two recently died of the pneumonic plague, whereas in May 2019, to Mongolians died from the bubonic plague after eating a rodent kidney. Dr. Thiel explained that the flu is often associated with pigs and the Ebola virus from eating fruit bats. He also cited scriptures about which animals God said could be eaten and some of which should be avoided. Dr. Thiel also went over an NPR report which stated that more who get the live polio vaccine are paralyzed from that type of polio than the \u2018wild\u2019 kind. Dr. Thiel explains some scriptures about preventing disease as well as those that show that humans will not sufficiently repent and solve infectious disease problems before Jesus returns.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Though government ‘public health experts’ tend to push fear and vaccines, there really are specific things people can do to support and enhance their innate immune systems.<\/p>\n

As regular readers of this COGwriter Church of God page are aware, I have written about several ways to do that.<\/p>\n

As far as things people can consider during this time of much of the media pushing fear, notice the following which I updated today:<\/p>\n

  1. People should decrease their consumption of junk food. Instead that has increased in many places because of COVID lockdowns and many Americans have gained unhealthy weight (see Using scale for weight loss? Americans gain weight during COVID-19 shut downs<\/a>) which will not bolster their innate or adaptive immune systems.<\/li>\n
  2. Exercise is beneficial for the immune system (watch The Plain Truth About Exercise<\/a>), yet during the corona\/COVID lockdowns, many have gotten less exercise. Gyms have been closed in many places.<\/li>\n
  3. Avoiding smoking (see also Should Christians Smoke Tobacco or Marijuana?<\/a>) and polluted air (watch Air Pollution, Autism, and Prophecy<\/span><\/a>) help the immune function.<\/li>\n
  4. People should increase their consumption of high vitamin C fruits (like citrus and berries) and vegetables (like tomatoes and bell peppers) as vitamin C is proven to bolster the immune system, help protect tissues (like lungs), and fight viruses (see also COVID-19 and Vitamin C: The truth, the myth, and the hype<\/a>).<\/li>\n
  5. Ten years ago it was reported in a scientific journal that zinc was effective against coronaviruses to reduce their replication (see\u2018CDC Triples Number of Possible CCP Virus Symptoms;\u2019 Don\u2019t swallow Lysol to fight COVID-19! What about Zinc? Bloodclots?<\/a>). Food like pumpkin seeds supply zinc.<\/li>\n
  6. Substances like methylene blue and hydroxychloroquine help improve zinc absorption (see also Donald Trump taking zinc and hydroxychloroquine to prevent COVID-19: Mainstream media aghast! Vitamin D? Vitamin C?<\/a>).<\/li>\n
  7. Sunlight helps convert cholesterol into vitamin D and vitamin D looks to be helpful for those facing the coronavirus (see Donald Trump taking zinc and hydroxychloroquine to prevent COVID-19: Mainstream media aghast! Vitamin D? Vitamin C?<\/a>). Even the CDC’s Dr. Fauci has admitted that vitamins D and C can be helpful (see COVID interview: Dr. Fauci takes isolated vitamin D and synthetic vitamin C<\/a>; see also Fasting aids longevity and provides other benefits<\/a>).<\/li>\n

  9. Fasting boosts the immune system (see Reuters: Why is New Orleans\u2019 coronavirus death rate seven times New York\u2019s? Obesity is a factor; BNP: \u2018How to Change Your Life in 5 Seconds\u2019<\/a>).<\/li>\n
  10. Blood clots can be destructive and even deadly with COVID-19, hence people who get it may wish to take nattokinase (see \u2018CDC Triples Number of Possible CCP Virus Symptoms;\u2019 Don\u2019t swallow Lysol to fight COVID-19! What about Zinc? Bloodclots?<\/a>).<\/li>\n
  11. Lung tissue damage is associated with COVID-19 and bovine lung tissue helps support healthy lungs (see CBS: Blood types may play role in which COVID patients get sickest; Isaiah: Eat what is good.<\/a>).<\/li>\n
  12. People should avoid consuming biblically unclean meat (see The New Testament Church, History, and Unclean Meats<\/a><\/span>), which look to have been implicated in the cause of COVID-19 (see NPR: Where Did The Coronavirus Originate? Virus Hunters Find Genetic Clues In Bats; WND: Biblically unclean animals responsible for pandemics<\/a> and Clean and unclean meat arguments, COVID-19, and the Bible<\/a>).<\/li>\n
  13. Humans can help maintain healthy kidneys and other organs with bovine kidney and other organ tissues (see https:\/\/doctorsresearch.com\/articles\/2759\/the-truth-about-glandulars-in-nutritional-supplements\/<\/a>). Plural glandular supplements can be helpful.<\/li>\n
  14. Reportedly, many of the vaccines being developed for the coronavirus involve aborted human tissues (https:\/\/www.naturalnews.com\/2020-05-21-coronavirus-vaccines-will-contain-aborted-human-babies.html<\/a>).<\/li>\n
  15. Even vaccine advocates think that the rushed vaccine will have safety risks (e.g. https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2020\/jun\/22\/trump-circle-pressure-fda-rush-covid-19-vaccine-election<\/a>) as well as possibly being ineffective for many–hence caution and wisdom are advised.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Many things have the potential to help support one\u2019s innate immune system, which helps the body fight many types of pathogens\u2013not just one.<\/p>\n

    Instead of doing the above, in places like the USA, more junk food has been consumed, many gyms have been shut down, many beaches and parks have been closed or limited (hence limiting sunlight exposure), and many have gained weight during the lockdowns (see Using scale for weight loss? Americans gain weight during COVID-19 shut downs<\/a>).<\/p>\n

    The idea of \u2018herd immunity\u2019 presumes that the \u2018herd\u2019 will have many with strong immune systems\u2013something that mask-wearing does not truly promote, but that healthy living does. It is not that there are no places for masks, but supporting the immune system needs to be emphasized much more than it has been by most.<\/p>\n

    While we should pray, not be fearful, rely on God\u2019s protection, and support the work of Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19-20, taking care to attempt to improve our health during a time with multiple strains of the coronavirus is something all should do.<\/p>\n

    The mainstream media has downplayed the vaccine risks, yet puts its hope in that and fear tactics. It tends to minimize telling people what they can do to help themselves other than hide\/cover up\/distance in fear.<\/p>\n

    Sadly, instead of focusing on how people can improve their health and strengthen their immune systems, we are seeing fear, ridicule, censorship for Facebook\/YouTube\/Twitter, and the expansion of government control over people\u2019s lives as the official means repeatedly pushed by much of the mainstream media to deal with aspects of the coronavirus. Facebook pulled two of my posts–one of which it later allowed when I provided LESS proof (Facebook was opposed to listing a particular reference)–and the other of which is still basically here at COGwriter (see COVID interview: Dr. Fauci takes isolated vitamin D and synthetic vitamin C<\/a>).<\/p>\n

    To the most faithful, Jesus said:<\/p>\n

    32 Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father\u2019s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:32)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    And that is the case. Christians should not live in fear. But we also realize that our confidence is not in a vaccine, but in Jesus.<\/p>\n
