Big Tech\u2019s moves to muscle President Donald Trump off social media have been heralded by some as victory. But a corporate-run state with politicians serving as mere figureheads amounts to the very fascism they claim to oppose.<\/div>\n

The smug, palpable air of \u2018mission accomplished\u2019 emanating from Facebook, Twitter and Google in the weeks after the media called November\u2019s election for Democrat Joe Biden has been hard to ignore. Thanks to an iron grip on the political narrative and the heavy-handed suppression of any influential dissenting voices, these insanely wealthy companies and their partners in the media establishment have managed to successfully upend what was left of the US\u2019 democratic process.\u00a0 …<\/p>\n

By blocking Trump from even posting on Twitter and Facebook and live-streaming platform Twitch \u2014 Big Tech has made it clear they\u2019re no longer satisfied with a mere monopoly over one of the few profitable industries left in the US. They won\u2019t stop accumulating power until they run politics, from the presidency to the smallest local election. …<\/p>\n

Twitter late Friday afternoon permanently banned the accounts of several of his {Donald Trump’s} prominent allies, including lawyer Sidney Powell and his former national security adviser, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.<\/p>\n

The social media giant’s stated reason for banning the two and others was “behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm.” 01\/08\/21 https:\/\/www.wnd.com\/2021\/01\/4883461\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Potential to lead to offline harm”? Wow! That is very broad and really means that anyone can be removed for almost any reason by Twitter.<\/p>\n

Apple has given Parler, the social network favored by conservatives and extremists, an ultimatum to implement a full moderation plan of its platform within the next 24 hours or face expulsion from the App store. …<\/p>\n

On Parler, CEO John Matze struck a defiant tone. \u201cWe will not cave to pressure from anti-competitive actors! We will and always have enforced our rules against violence and illegal activity. But we WONT cave to politically motivated companies and those authoritarians who hate free speech!\u201d he wrote in a message.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who buys an Apple phone is apparently a user. Apperently they know what is best for you by telling you which apps you may and may not use,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Launched in 2018, Parler has become a safe haven for people that have been banned or suspended by popular social networks including Facebook and Twitter for violating those platforms’ rules. The Henderson, Nevada\u2013based company has billed itself as a free speech alternative to mainstream social networks and taken a more relaxed approach to content moderation … 01\/08\/21 https:\/\/www.buzzfeednews.com\/article\/ryanmac\/apple-threatens-ban-parler<\/a><\/p>\n

Parler, the alternative social media platform popular with conservatives, has been banned from the Google Play Store, Google told CNN Business Friday evening. …<\/p>\n

The decision marks a major blow to President Donald Trump’s supporters, many of whom have found a home on the Parler platform. But it does not completely deny them access to the app. Because Android allows for third-party app stores, Parler can still be hosted on app stores not operated by Google.<\/p>\n

Google’s decision follows a report by BuzzFeed News<\/a> that Apple has threatened to remove Parler from the iOS App Store. (Apple declined to comment on the report.)<\/p>\n

Parler is among a group of relatively new platforms that have billed themselves as free speech alternatives in hopes of courting conservatives who believe larger platforms are censoring their views. …<\/p>\n

Facebook (FB<\/a><\/span>) and Instagram banned Trump’s account from posting for at least the remainder of his term in office and perhaps “indefinitely” in the wake of the riot on the US Capitol. In what can be termed 21st century book burning, we see places like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple, and other big tech firms suppressing views that they do not like. But since they are private companies, they essentially can skirt the US Constitution. At the same time, representatives of big tech have blatantly lied to various US Congressional inquiries when they say that they are not biased on political speech–the hypocrisy is abhorrent.<\/p>\n

But more direct government involvement is expected–and not to increase freedom.<\/p>\n

Joe Biden has stated he would create a task force to deal with online threats and extremism. What does the first amendment, part of the Bill of Rights, to the US Constitution say? Is the Biden-Harris team committed to \u201cadvance LGBTQ+ equality in America\u201d? Has the Biden-Harris campaign posted that giving more religious freedom is \u201chate against LGBTQ+ individuals\u201d? What is the so-called \u201cEquality Act\u201d all about? Could Kamala Harris be more strident about this than even Joe Biden? Has the Biden-Harris teams appointed Richard Stengel to help deal with speech and communications and has Stengel called for the elimination of more aspects of free speech? Might he consider it wrong to quote scriptures that might be considered as \u201cinsults\u201d by those opposed to biblical sexual morality? What about Canada\u2019s position on some of this? In 2017, Lauri Skori of the Battle River School board told a religious school in Alberta, Canada that it could not teach\/read certain portions of the Bible. In 2002, a court in Canada ruled against one who referred to certain scriptures that some homosexuals objected to. In 2017, there was \u201cAn Act to Amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and Criminal Code\u201d related to those who wish to be considered transgendered. Government officials in Canada and elsewhere have been ruling against the Bible. Is any of this prophesied? Will this get worse? Many various government officials and those in Big Tech hate aspects of biblical morality and want to stop it.<\/p>\n

YouTube uses terms like \u201ccommunity standards\u201d to try to cover up its biases and censorship.<\/p>\n

There are also more subtle forms of censorship such as shadow banning. Google, YouTube, Twitter, and others have been doing it for years (e.g. see Twitter\u2019s \u2018shadow ban\u2019 political bias exposed<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Speaking of tests and trials, YouTube has been making it more difficult for people to find, download, and watch our videos.<\/p>\n

Starting a few weeks ago, we began experiencing a type of censorship on both the ContinuingCOG (sermons) and BNP (sermonettes) YouTube channels.

The speed of both uploading and downloading on these two channels has been throttled back to about 3% of its previous available speed.\u00a0 Uploads and downloads that previously took about 30 seconds are now taking 16-20 minutes each.\u00a0 When testing with other youtube channels, we see no speed degradation.\u00a0 It seems that we have been singled out for some special attention.\u00a0 Initially, we thought that this was limited to just the uploading and downloading of videos.\u00a0 If that were the case, it would have little impact on our use of YouTube.\u00a0 However, it seems that this throttling affects the entire channel including the bandwidth required for viewers to watch videos.

What does this mean?\u00a0 Well, it would seem that given the bandwidth limitation, perhaps only 1 or 2 people can view videos on our channels simultaneously without speed \/ quality issues.\u00a0 Once 3 or more people are watching simultaneously, they would begin to experience speed or quality issues.\u00a0 A typical listener experiencing video quality issues might just stop watching and move on. \u00a0

There is no reason for this channel behavior other than we are being quietly censored.\u00a0 This is especially pernicious in that this implementation has the effect of limiting viewers of our content while doing so in a way intended to go unnoticed.\u00a0 As such, it is another form of shadow banning.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n

Bill told me he could not believe it at first, but the more he looked into this and did some tests, the more convinced he was that YouTube has intentionally been making it more difficult for people to watch us.<\/p>\n

Because of my distrust of YouTube and \u2018big tech,\u2019 we are also on other platforms (like BitChute<\/a>, COGTube<\/a>, Vimeo<\/a>, and Brighteon<\/a>) and we are also on COGAnimations<\/a> at Bitchute.<\/p>\n

However, YouTube is normally our most popular platform.<\/p>\n

But I have been convinced that what YouTube has been doing has prevented our videos going \u2018viral\u2019 in 2020.<\/p>\n

Yet, despite actual issues with YouTube, we continue to get new subscribers to our videos. As of January 6, 2021, we now have 2614 subscribers on the ContinuingCOG<\/a> channel\u2013this is up from 2,380 on April 30th. This is the channel that has our sermons, offertory messages, and some of our less prophetically-oriented sermonettes.<\/p>\n

We also have 5,493 subscribers to our Bible News Prophecy<\/a> channel. This is up only slightly from 5,480 on April 30th. This is our main sermonette channel. But this is the lowest rate of new subscribers we have gotten in a period of this length\u2013and that seems directly related to what YouTube has been doing. Our Bible News Prophecy<\/a> channel tends to have a broader audience than the sermon channel. Therefore, YouTube shadow banning actions would reduce that broader audience from being able to see it. While YouTube practices also affect our sermon channel, that program tends to have a more concentrated audience, thus YouTube\u2019s negative practices would not affect it quite as much.<\/p>\n

According to YouTube, subscribers watch more often than non-subscribers and our number of subscribers to these channels has continued to rise. Hence, our audience continues to expand\u2013but YouTube looks to have taken steps to slow the expansion.<\/p>\n

We are also on other YouTube channels such as CDLIDDSermones<\/a> (39 subscribers, up from 21 on April 30th), CCOG Animations<\/a> (100 subscribers, up from 83 on April 30th), and CCOGAfrica<\/a> (111 subscribers, up from 89 on April 30th).<\/p>\n

Perhaps it should also be pointed out that YouTube is owned by Google and Google itself looks to also be engaging in \u201cshadow banning\u201d items at COGwriter.com as its positions on COVID, vaccines, the LGBTQ+ agenda, have inclined it to attempt to suppress results that have views it does not share. Shadow banning is basically when a site like Google stops results that should be on the first few search result pages, and instead pushes them to later pages that few people will go to.<\/p>\n

Wikipedia defines shadow banning as follows:<\/p>\n

Shadow banning, also called stealth banning, ghost banning or comment ghosting, is the act of blocking or partially blocking a user or their content from an online community so that it will not be readily apparent to the user that they have been banned. And yes, YouTube and Google (and probably other sites) have been doing this for years. But it has worsened in this past year.<\/p>\n

So, I prayed about the situation with YouTube.<\/p>\n

As the church that best represents the Philadelphian remnant, we go through doors that Jesus opens (Revelation 3:7-8), while realizing that some doors can also close (Revelation 3:7).<\/p>\n

Or, to use an American expression, we try to turn lemons (representing a sour event) into lemonade (representing a sweet result).<\/p>\n

The various platforms we are on are all part of our efforts as we work to fulfill Matthew 24:14, Romans 11:23-25, Romans 9:28, Ezekiel warnings, and Matthew 28:19-20.<\/p>\n

Despite the fact that places like YouTube are not heeding warnings in the word of God (cf. (Isaiah 30:8-14), we continue to utilize many methods to reach those that we can.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Perhaps I should mention that Vimeo pulled one of our programs last year because it apparently did not like the tying in of certain world events with biblical prophecy (for details, see Censored: Vimeo removes Bible News Prophecy video \u2018COVID-19 Leading to 666?\u2019<\/a>).<\/p>\n

So, the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found. And that would seem to be because it will be taken off the internet. In 1949, the late George Orwell wrote a disturbing book about a totalitarian government called \u201cnineteen-eighty four.\u201d Despite laws that are supposed to protect freedom of speech and religion, we are seeing governments taking steps consistent with those that Geroge Orwell warned against. We are also seeing this in the media, academia, and in private companies like Google, Facebook, and Twitter. With the advent of technology, totalitarianism beyond what Orwell wrote is possible. Does the Bible teach the coming a totalitarian state similar to George Orwell\u2019s? What about the Antichrist and 666? Will things get worse? What is the solution? Many big tech companies are biased, not only against political leaders\/positions, but also against the Bible and those who claim to teach what it teaches.<\/p>\n

Jesus repeatedly condemned religious leaders for hypocrisy (e.g. Matthew 15:7-9; Luke 11:43-44). The major media in the USA are no less guilty of hypocrisy. This will not end well for the USA (Isaiah 10:5-12).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, 666 control and Orwellian suppression of the truth is coming.<\/p>\n

More stifling of religious speech will happen.<\/p>\n

The prophet Amos was inspired to record the following:<\/p>\n

But Matthew 24:14 will be fulfilled BEFORE the full \u2018famine of the word\u2019 happens.<\/p>\n

After the Gospel of the Kingdom of God<\/a> has sufficiently reached the world the end comes and the Beast will rise up (Matthew 24:14-22, Revelation 13) and more totalitarian controls will be put in place.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Censorship and surveillance is increasing. However, lawsuits against the censors will only slow some down and change some of their tactics.<\/p>\n

Although you might think that if you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear from surveillance or speech restrictions, consider that many in the governments of the West consider that those not supporting homosexual marriages<\/a>, etc. are extremist. If you accept that the Bible teaches that homosexuals can change (1 Corinthians 6:9-11), that is something certain so-called \u201cfact checkers\u201d disagree with. Let me add that I also saw someone once on a documentary that stated that people who believed in the millennium<\/a> could not be trusted and should be considered as potential terrorists. The fact that we in the Continuing<\/em> Church of God<\/a> would be considered pacifists<\/a>, does not change the fact that, since we hold to millennial and other biblical views, we can be improperly classified as extremist by government employees with various agendas. Having biblical views are becoming more problematic in the world (see ZH: Germany has killed freedom of speech and expects the rest of the EU to do the same<\/a>). Canada does not want certain biblical verses to even be quoted (watch Canadian censoring of the Bible<\/a>).<\/p>\n

While the Europeans and North Americans decry internet and speech restrictions, in various countries in Asia and elsewhere they are also implementing restrictions themselves.<\/p>\n

The Bible says to:<\/p>\n

1 Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And that warning includes telling of sins and prophecies that discuss punishment.<\/p>\n

That being said, more speech restrictions, censorship. and persecutions are coming (cf. Revelation 13; Amos 8:11-12).<\/p>\n
