The Biden administration has also imposed sanctions of its own on Russia, Myanmar, and Iran. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/16-countries-are-pushing-united-nations-condemn-us-unilateral-sanctions\">https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/16-countries-are-pushing-united-nations-condemn-us-unilateral-sanctions<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <em>New York Times <\/em>had the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"link-512463a1\" class=\"css-rsa88z e1h9rw200\" data-test-id=\"headline\">Europe Struggles to Defend Itself Against a Weaponized Dollar<\/h2>\n<p><em>Despite warm words from Biden, U.S. secondary sanctions against Iran, Russia and others punish European companies and prompt new calls for strategic autonomy.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-axufdj evys1bk0\">BRUSSELS \u2014 The new Biden administration is making nice with the European Union, talking of renewed cooperation and suspending retaliatory tariffs stemming from an old dispute between Airbus and Boeing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-axufdj evys1bk0\">But despite the warm words and efforts at rebuilding trust, the American willingness to punish its European allies and impose sanctions on them in pursuit of foreign-policy goals continues to rankle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-axufdj evys1bk0\">It is an underlying tension, a ready reminder of the asymmetric power of the United States. That is especially so when it comes to what are known as secondary sanctions. While Iran and Russia, for example, may be the primary target of sanctions, the secondary sanctions punish other countries and companies \u2014 very often European \u2014 that do business with them as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-axufdj evys1bk0\">Increasingly popular with Congress, secondary sanctions have been deployed to coerce allies to fall into line on any number of issues. In recent years, those have included the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline, Iran\u2019s nuclear program and the socialist governments of Venezuela and Cuba. The great fear is that they would some day be used by the United States against China \u2014 or even vice versa \u2014 leaving Europe squeezed in the middle.<\/p>\n<p>Secondary sanctions cut off access to the American banking system, an effective threat because of the centrality of that system and the global reach of the dollar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-axufdj evys1bk0\">The weaponization of the American dollar and the Treasury is <a class=\"css-1g7m0tk\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/RegData\/etudes\/STUD\/2020\/653618\/EXPO_STU(2020)653618_EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a marked vulnerability<\/a> for Europe, which depends on open markets. It has prompted serious discussions of how to defend Europe and the euro from Washington\u2019s whims, and it has become a central part of the argument about how to create \u201cstrategic autonomy,\u201d so Europe can protect its own interests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-axufdj evys1bk0\">Last month, the European Union announced efforts to strengthen an <a class=\"css-1g7m0tk\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/IP_21_601\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201canti-coercion instrument\u2019\u2019<\/a> against \u201cunfair trading practices.\u201d The main sources of them are China and Europe\u2019s self-professed ally and partner, the United States. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-axufdj evys1bk0\">European resentment about American secondary sanctions \u201cis linked to an awareness of our own internal and economic fragility,\u2019\u2019 said Nathalie Tocci, director of Italy\u2019s International Affairs Institute and adviser to Mr. Borrell. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/12\/world\/europe\/europe-us-sanctions.html\">https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/12\/world\/europe\/europe-us-sanctions.html<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Biden-Harris Administration is not the only one to weaponize the dollar. Weaponizing the dollar has long part of the so-called &#8220;soft power&#8221; of the USA that Hillary Clinton used to mention during the Obama-BIden Administration.<\/p>\n<p>Also, here are some items related to the Trump-Pence Administration:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>By weaponizing both trade and currency, President Trump has infected the global economy with deep uncertainty. In imposing sanctions and tariffs\u2014as well as banning American firms from doing business with a growing list of foreign companies on grounds of national security\u2014Trump has enfeebled world trade, turning it into a brake on global growth. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Trump is also weaponizing the U.S. dollar, instructing the U.S. Treasury to put more countries under surveillance for suspected \u201ccurrency manipulation,\u201d subjecting them to potential retaliatory sanctions. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s actions on trade and currency are now imposing a discernible drag on global economic growth. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I have argued earlier that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/yuwahedrickwong\/2019\/07\/19\/cheap-credit-and-lack-of-competition-gums-up-the-u-s-economy\/#30cc0c9550c7\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"InternalLink:https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/yuwahedrickwong\/2019\/07\/19\/cheap-credit-and-lack-of-competition-gums-up-the-u-s-economy\/#30cc0c9550c7\">U.S. economy is more fragile<\/a> than it seems. The \u201cweaponization\u201d of the dollar by President Trump is making countries increasingly wary of the greenback.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Twenty years after central banks in the West dumped gold in what many saw as the end of the metal\u2019s role in the global monetary system, their counterparts in emerging countries are hoarding gold at rates not seen in over 50 years.<\/p>\n<p>Central banks bought 145.5 tons of gold in the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 68% compared with last year and the strongest first quarter since 2013, according to the World Gold Council. In the past four quarters, these banks have hoarded over 715 tons of the precious metal \u2014 the highest that the industry-led body has ever recorded. \u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/us-vows-tariffs-on-mexico-until-it-stops-border-crossings\/a-48981990\">US President Donald Trump\u2019s weaponization of economic tools<\/a> in pursuit of foreign policy breakthroughs is also prompting countries to look for alternatives to the dollar as the preferred repository for world savings. 06\/11\/19 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/trumps-policies-add-luster-to-gold-at-dollars-expense\/a-49135607\">https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/trumps-policies-add-luster-to-gold-at-dollars-expense\/a-49135607<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Consider now the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>August 25, 2019<\/p>\n<p>It would take years to put compliance and regulatory structures in place to develop an electronic currency with the potential to challenge the dominance of the US dollar as the world&#8217;s preferred reserve currency, analysts say.<\/p>\n<p>The dollar is likely to reign supreme in the short-term despite trade tiffs dampening the global economic outlook and stoking fears of a possible currency war between the world\u2019s two biggest economies \u2013 the US and China. While central banks are stuck in a low interest rate environment, policymakers have begun suggesting radical ideas to tackle their fiscal challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Bank of England governor Mark Carney said the world\u2019s reliance on the US dollar \u201cwon\u2019t hold\u201d and should be replaced by a new international monetary and financial system. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Though he did not elaborate, Facebook\u2019s Libra comes closest to the digital currency Mr Carney described. The digital token &#8211; set to be rolled out next year and secured against a basket of reserve-backed currencies &#8211; would not be controlled by Facebook, but run by a consortium that includes Uber, Mastercard, Stripe, Visa, PayPal and Spotify, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Libra, or a token which JP Morgan plans to launch, could \u201ccarry the mantle of a global cryptocurrency which Mr Carney is talking about\u201d, said Mr Valecha.<\/p>\n<p>Yet how effective that currency will be in breaking the dominance of the US dollar on global level is a point of debate, Mr Valecha said. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.ae\/business\/economy\/mark-carney-s-proposed-digital-currency-to-challenge-greenback-still-years-away-1.902388\">https:\/\/www.thenational.ae\/business\/economy\/mark-carney-s-proposed-digital-currency-to-challenge-greenback-still-years-away-1.902388<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yes, completely dethroning the US dollar appears to be years away.<\/p>\n<p>But it will happen!<\/p>\n<p>Turning its dollar into a weapon will help destroy the USA.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, various ones are taking steps to dethrone the US dollar as the world&#8217;s reserve currency. <span class=\"author\">Michael Krieger <\/span>believes this may happen by 2025:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"post-title\">The Road to 2025 (Part 3) \u2013 USD Dominated Financial System Will Fall Apart<\/h2>\n<p>The USD is unique in that it grants the U.S. the<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Exorbitant_privilege\"> \u201cexorbitant privilege\u201d<\/a> of having a national currency which at the same time serves as the global reserve currency. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Pricing key commodities such as oil, which everyone in the world needs, in USD creates a massive structural support for the dollar versus other government fiat currencies. If other nations constantly have to convert to USD before purchasing commodities, there\u2019s a constant underlying global demand to buy USD on a daily basis. No other country has this sort of structural support for its currency, and it allows the U.S. to be far more fiscally irresponsible than other countries without suffering devastating currency devaluations on the global market.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the tremendous advantage such a system offers the U.S. on the world stage, there haven\u2019t been any rival countries that could realistically challenge it given American economic dominance. This is no longer the case. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><em>Still today, the US GDP accounts for 22% of world\u2019s GDP, while 80% of international payments are made in dollars.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Hence the United States receives goods from abroad always at comparatively very low prices, while the massive demand for dollars from the rest of the world allows to refinance the US public debt at very low costs. &#8230;<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is absolutely key. There\u2019s now a huge mismatch between the use of USD in the global financial system and the U.S. share of the world economy. China and Russia are acutely aware of this and have been taking major steps to transition to a more multi-polar currency world. There can be no multi-polar geopolitical world without a multi-polar currency world, which is why they\u2019re working toward dethroning the USD. I believe they will succeed.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, I think by 2025 the world will have a completely different global financial system from the one chaotically birthed in the 1970s. The USD will lose its total dominance on the world stage, resulting in major implications geopolitically as well as at home. <a href=\"https:\/\/libertyblitzkrieg.com\/2018\/04\/19\/the-road-to-2025-part-3-usd-dominated-financial-system-will-fall-apart\/\">https:\/\/libertyblitzkrieg.com\/2018\/04\/19\/the-road-to-2025-part-3-usd-dominated-financial-system-will-fall-apart\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While I am not certain of the date, if certain prophetic events take place within the next four years (e.g. Daniel 9:27; see <a href=\"http:\/\/cogwriter.com\/daniel-9-27-deal.htm\">The &#8216;Peace Deal&#8217; of Daniel 9:27<\/a>), it is possible that the US dollar will be worth no more than its scrap and burning value by 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Another factor that will lead to the collapse of the US dollar is the increasing amount of debt in the US (consider also Habakkuk 2:6-8) which officially looks to exceed USD$30 trillion in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The world will one day wake up to the fact that the USA cannot possibly pay back its debts and will take successful military actions against the USA (cf.
