Police say he was shot by the officers as he left his vehicle and lunged at them with a knife.<\/p>\n Despite their investigation being in its early stages, police say they have so far ruled out terrorism as a motive. …<\/p>\n In the weeks leading up to the attack, Green wrote on Instagram that the US government was targeting him with \u201cmind control,\u201d<\/em> also claiming he had \u201cterrible afflictions\u201d<\/em> that were \u201cpresumably [caused] by the CIA and FBI, government agencies of the United States of America,\u201d according<\/a> to CNN. Another post described the federal government as the \u201c#1 enemy of Black people.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n On Green\u2019s Facebook page, moreover, he indicated that he was a follower of the Nation of Islam, a black nationalist interpretation of Islam that once counted Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali as members. Green described Farrakhan as \u201cJesus, the Messiah, the final divine reminder in our midst,\u201d and added, \u201cI consider him my spiritual father.
