The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said more than 300 Palestinians were injured, including 228 who were taken to nearby hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of Palestinians were wounded in violent confrontations with police in Jerusalem from Saturday night into Sunday, when Muslims marked Laylat al-Qadr, or the \u201cnight of destiny,\u201d the holiest period of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n<p>The skirmishes occurred at the gates of the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the Old City, a site known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary, considered the holiest site in Judaism and the third holiest in Islam.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that authorities \u201cwill not allow any extremists to destabilize the calm,\u201d after several days of clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israel police outside the Old City of Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli leader told a Cabinet meeting that he had met with security officials and vowed to \u201cenforce law and order decisively and responsibly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said Israel \u201cwill continue to maintain freedom of worship for all faiths, but we will not allow violent disturbances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Monday\u2019s clashes occurred hours before the annual Jerusalem Day parade,\u00a0a flag-waving display that marks Israeli claims to all of Jerusalem. The parade will pass through Jerusalem\u2019s Old City, part of east Jerusalem, which was captured and annexed by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war.<\/p>\n<p>But Israeli authorities have temporarily banned Jewish visitors from visiting the holy site in light of the hostilities. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/middle-east\/violence-renews-near-iconic-holy-site-old-jerusalem\">https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/middle-east\/violence-renews-near-iconic-holy-site-old-jerusalem<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A couple of days ago, I posted:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Palestinians are mad. And more troubles are expected. COGwriter, May 8, 2021)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sadly, we are already seeing more troubles&#8211;which is consistent with what Jesus predicted (cf. Mark 13:8).<\/p>\n<p>Here is a report from <em>Israel365News<\/em> that suggests these protests could be some type of Messianic sign:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>May 10, 2021<\/p>\n<p>Israel is undergoing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.israel365news.com\/190356\/ramadan-violence-raging-all-over-israel-but-focused-on-jerusalem\/\">a wave of attacks on all fronts<\/a> which includes rockets from Gaza, terrorist attacks in the Biblical homeland, and violent riots in the neighborhood surrounding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.israel365news.com\/190346\/jerusalem-enters-anniversary-of-6-day-war-with-worst-violence-since-its-liberation-a-battle-for-the-temple-mt\/\">the Tomb of Shimon the Righteous<\/a>, a Kohen Gadol (High Priest) during the Second Temple period. But the worst violence, that on the Temple Mount, highlights the true nature of the conflict; and end-of-days pre-Messiah battle for the Mountain of God purchased by King David for fifty shekels of silver 3,000 years ago. The violence crescendoed on Monday, Yom Yerushalayim, the 54th anniversary of the IDF victory in the 1967 Six-Day War that opened all of Jerusalem to the Jews for the first time in 2000 years. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no reason to panic,\u201d Rabbi Begon said. \u201cWe have been praying for this, three times a day, for 2,000 years. And the prophets all told us what will be. No force on earth, no matter how cruel or angry, can stop this. If the Arabs are acting like this now, it is because they are panicking. They know the prophecies are all coming true and their time ruling in Israel is about to end.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.israel365news.com\/190380\/on-anniversary-of-six-day-war-the-struggle-for-temple-mt-has-been-reignited\/\">https:\/\/www.israel365news.com\/190380\/on-anniversary-of-six-day-war-the-struggle-for-temple-mt-has-been-reignited\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Even IF the Jews get more access to the Temple Mount, 1) The Messiah has already come (see <span class=\"style182\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/ProofJesusistheMessiah.pdf\">Proof Jesus is the Messiah<\/a><\/span>)&#8211;though we are getting closer to Jesus coming back and 2) Jerusalem is prophesied to be divided, NOT fully controlled by the Jews.<\/p>\n<p>Many Arabs (and even Turks I have spoken to) believe that Jerusalem should be controlled by Muslims, not Jews.<\/p>\n<p>The Jews, however, hold a different view:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Will Jerusalem Be Divided Again?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>November 26, 2013\u2026<\/p>\n<p>For 19 years, Jerusalem was divided between Israel and Jordan with the Old City on the Jordan side. In 1967, the Six-Day War led to the reuniting of the city under Israeli sovereignty.<\/p>\n<p>Now, part of the U.S.-backed peace process seeks to split the city once again. Dividing Jerusalem is the most contentious issue in Middle East peace talks.<\/p>\n<p>Israel maintains Jerusalem is its eternal, undivided capital. Palestinians want the eastern part for the capital of a future state.<\/p>\n<p>CBN\u2019s Scott Ross recently asked Mayor Barkat and others about dividing the city. Barkat said dividing the city is impossible. <a title=\"http:\/\/www.cbn.com\/cbnnews\/insideisrael\/2013\/November\/Will-Jerusalem-Be-Divided-Again\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbn.com\/cbnnews\/insideisrael\/2013\/November\/Will-Jerusalem-Be-Divided-Again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.cbn.com\/cbnnews\/insideisrael\/2013\/November\/Will-Jerusalem-Be-Divided-Again\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When I visited Jerusalem in October 2013, my guide kept trying to explain to me why dividing Jerusalem was &#8216;impossible.&#8217; I repeatedly told him that it was not &#8216;impossible&#8217; and that it would be done.<\/p>\n<p>There already is a social division in Jerusalem. A political division, likely ultimately enforced by outside armies, is also likely. But while the armies supposedly will be there to &#8216;protect&#8217; Israeli interests, the Bible shows that Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles and Israelis taken captive (Luke 21:20-24).<\/p>\n<p>The Old Testament also shows that half of the city will be taken captive:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1 Behold, the day of the Lord is coming,<br \/>\nAnd your spoil will be divided in your midst.<br \/>\n2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;<br \/>\nThe city shall be taken,<br \/>\nThe houses rifled,<br \/>\nAnd the women ravished.<br \/>\nHalf of the city shall go into captivity,<br \/>\nBut the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (Zechariah 14:1-2)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The above seems to be saying that the Israeli or perhaps end time Palestinian half will be taken captive, but there will still be some, perhaps Christians, in or near the city, just before Jesus comes.<\/p>\n<p>If the above battle is before the Day of the Lord, this would seem to be a separation between the Jews and Palestinians. If the above battle is during the Day of the Lord, it could be a division of those who support the end time Beast power and those that will not.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Henry&#8217;s Commentary states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Zechariah 14:1-7<\/strong> God here appears against Jerusalem; judgment begins at the house of God. When the day of the Lord comes (v. 1) Jerusalem must pass through the fire to be refined. God himself gathers all nations against Jerusalem to battle (v. 2); he gives them a charge, as he did Sennacherib, to take the spoil and to take the prey (Isaiah 10:6), for the people of Jerusalem have now become the people of his wrath. And who can stand before him or before nations gathered by him? Where he gives commission he will give success. The city shall be taken by the Romans, who have nations at command; the houses shall be rifled, and all the riches of them taken away, by the enemy; and, to gratify an insatiable lust of uncleanness as well as avarice, the women shall be ravished, as if victory were a license to the worst of villanies, jusque datum sceleri\u2014and crimes were sanctioned by law. One-half of the city shall then be carried into captivity, to be sold or enslaved, and shall not be able to help itself, such is the destruction that shall be made in the great and terrible day of the Lord.<br \/>\n(from Matthew Henry&#8217;s Commentary on the Whole Bible, PC Study Bible Formatted Electronic Database Copyright \u00a9 2006 by Biblesoft, Inc. All Rights reserved.)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I cited the above as it seems to tie a statement in Isaiah 10:6 to this, which would put it towards the beginning of the Great Tribulation. On the other hand the statement in Zechariah 14:2 &#8220;Zechariah 14:1-7&#8221; could be consistent with the gathering at Armageddon that God allows Satan to do (cf. Revelation 16:12-16).<\/p>\n<p>Here is something related to the Beast power and Jerusalem by the late <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/herbertwarmstrong.htm\">Herbert W. Armstrong<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>the coming Roman Empire shall establish its palace, as capital of the revived Roman Empire, and eventually its religious headquarters, at Jerusalem! Zechariah 14:2 says the city shall be taken! &#8220;Yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him&#8221;! This language signifies the end of the &#8220;beast&#8221; and the &#8220;false prophet&#8221; at the hand of God! You will find this end described in Revelation 19:19-20 and Zechariah 14:12. (Armstrong HW. The Middle East in Prophecy. Worldwide Church of God, 1972 edition).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Something else, however, may happen before that. Notice the following passages:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1 The burden against the Valley of Vision.<\/p>\n<p>What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops, 2 You who are full of noise, A tumultuous city, a joyous city? Your slain men are not slain with the sword, Nor dead in battle. 3 All your rulers have fled together; They are captured by the archers. All who are found in you are bound together; They have fled from afar. 4 Therefore I said, \u201cLook away from me, I will weep bitterly; Do not labor to comfort me Because of the plundering of the daughter of my people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>5 For it is a day of trouble and treading down and perplexity By the Lord God of hosts In the Valley of Vision \u2014 Breaking down the walls And of crying to the mountain. 6<strong> Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen<\/strong>, And Kir uncovered the shield. 7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots, And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.<\/p>\n<p>8 <strong>He removed the protection of Judah<\/strong>. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9 <strong>You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great<\/strong>; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool. 10 You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, And the houses you broke down To fortify the wall. 11 You also made a reservoir between the two walls For the water of the old pool. But you did not look to its Maker, Nor did you have respect for Him who fashioned it long ago.<\/p>\n<p>12 And in that day the Lord God of hosts Called for weeping and for mourning, For baldness and for girding with sackcloth. 13 But instead, joy and gladness, Slaying oxen and killing sheep, Eating meat and drinking wine: \u201cLet us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>14 Then it was revealed in my hearing by the Lord of hosts, \u201cSurely for this iniquity there will be no atonement for you, Even to your death,\u201d says the Lord God of hosts.\u00a0 (Isaiah 22:1-14)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Elam seems to be a reference to at least some in Iran. Kir is of interest as it has several possibilities.\u00a0 One is that the Bible tells that after Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took over Damascus, he moved Syrians to Kir.\u00a0 While this does not mean that Kir must (or must only) be a reference to Syria, the fact that Syria is an ally of Iran is interesting. Iran has claimed that it will take over Jerusalem and give it to one called the Imam Mahdi.\u00a0 This was the subject of a video years ago (for details, see <a title=\"Permanent Link to Iran\u2019s Ahmadinejad to Conquer Jerusalem?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/irans-ahmadinejad-to-conquer-jerusalem\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">Iran\u2019s Ahmadinejad to Conquer Jerusalem?<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, the point I wish to make is that the above shows that a time is coming when God will take away the protection of Judah and the City of David. The Bible clearly teaches that Jerusalem is the \u201cCity of David\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>28 And his servants carried him in the chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the City of David. (2 Kings 9:28),<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This, thus shows, that Isaiah 22:9 is a prophecy for future destruction occurring in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>Then the time will come when there will be a temporary &#8216;peace deal&#8217; (see the article <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/daniel-9-27-deal.htm\">The &#8216;Peace Deal&#8217; of Daniel 9:27<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The current protests are expected to get worse in the future, before a temporal peace deal is somewhat accepted.<\/p>\n<p><em>Some items of possibly related interest may include:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/daniel-9-27-deal.htm\">The &#8216;Peace Deal&#8217; of Daniel 9:27<\/a> This prophecy could give up to 3 1\/2 years advance notice of the coming Great Tribulation.
