COGwriter

The BRICS are trying to unify against the US dollar and its influence:

April 14, 2011

Sanya, China. The five BRICS nations took another step toward cementing their global influence on Thursday, calling for a broad-based international reserve currency system “providing stability and certainty.”

In a statement released at a summit on the southern island of Hainan, the leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa said the recent financial crisis had exposed the inadequacies and deficiencies of the current monetary order, which has the dollar as its linchpin…

The BRICS are worried about the long-term fate of the dollar because of America’s large trade and budget deficits. They also begrudge the privileges that come with being the leading reserve currency — hence the call for a revamped system that is more stable.

In another dig at the dollar, the development banks of the five BRICS nations agreed in principle to establish mutual credit lines denominated in their local currencies, not the US currency. http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/business/brics-target-dollar-in-call-for-global-monetary-reform/435468

BRICS leaders have agreed to prepare a package of proposals concerning the reform of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, President Dmitry Medvedev announced during a summit of the “big five” in China’s Sanya.

“We talked about the necessity of further reform of the international financial system,” Medvedev said addressing the participants of the summit which has brought together Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. http://indrus.in/articles/2011/04/14/brics_summit_pushes_for_imf_reform_12399.html

The BRICS nations are pushing for a financial order that is not dominated by the US dollar. And while they have legitimate economic reasons for this, they also seem to be pushing for this for political reasons. The BRICS want much more influence in the world’s monetary system.

The Bible teaches that during the time which it calls “the time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7) or the “great tribulation” (Matthew 24:21), that it will be the “times of the Gentiles” (Luke 21:24). This means that the influence of the Anglo-Israelite nations (like the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand) will be reduced, then eventually eliminated, while those of the Gentile nations (like Russia, China, India, Brazil, Germany, Arab block, etc.) will increase.

The Gentiles, through BRICS and through the German-backed Euro, are working hard to push the USA dollar aside as the world’s reserve currency. A status that the British pound once had, but also lost. The final time of the Gentiles is rapidly approaching.

Of course, it is not that the Gentiles do not have problems amongst themselves. The Bible is clear that the European King of the North will fight the Islamic King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43), despite making one or more false deals together (Daniel 11:27; Psalm 83:3-8) and that a coalition that includes at least three of the BRICS nations will ultimately rebel against the King of the North (cf. Daniel 11:44).

But the strongest fortresses of the USA and its Anglo-allies, during the time of Jacob’s trouble, will be eliminated first (Daniel 11:39).

The Bible also tells of a time when the kings of the east will send a 200 million man army into the Middle East:

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. (Revelation 16:12)

13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed–by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths (Revelation 9:13-18).

We in the Living Church of God have long felt that China and India would supply significant amounts of the troops:

China and India: More Military Cooperation...Joint military exercises between these two nations are important, given a couple of different factors. First, the combined population of these nations is about 2.5 billion—nearly 40 percent of the entire population of the earth. Second, prophetically, God tells of a time, just prior to the return of Christ, when a 200 million-man army will descend on Jerusalem from the east, and destroy an entire third of mankind (Daniel 11:44-45; Revelation 9:13-21). As we consider a joint military force of India and China, it would be very easy for these two nations to field a joint army of 200 million men. The final configuration of the armies from the east is likely yet to be established, but it is also likely that we are seeing the foundations of such a confederation being laid right now (World Ahead Weekly Update, LCG. January 2, 2008).

The Bible also warns that the King of the North will be affected by those of the north and the east. Three of the BRICS (Russia, China, and India) meet the geographic requirement, two of them (China and India) have the men for such an army, and three of them (Russia, China, and India) have the military hardware for such an army.

The Gentiles are stirring as their time for rising up seems to be beginning.

Some articles of possibly related interest may include:

Asia in Prophecy What is Ahead for Asia?
