TEHRAN \u2013 Two major Iranian firms have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation in exporting water industry equipment and products to the members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and also to CIS countries, ILNA reported.<\/p>\n

Under the framework of the mentioned MOU, the companies, namely Sirang Tejarat Iranian (STI) and Hamoun Nayze Company (Hanyco), are going to cooperate for promoting the exports of various water industry items including cast iron pipes and fittings and electric cast iron bases to Eurasia and CIS countries. …<\/p>\n

The free trade agreement between Iran and this union has laid the ground for the expansion of trade ties between the two sides.<\/p>\n

TEHRAN \u2013 Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali has praised the level of ties between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union, underlining the importance of the economic body.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the first specialized Eurasian exhibition in Tehran on Sunday, Jalali said, \u201cThe Eurasian Economic Union is an important and promising union for economic actors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Serbia\u2019s free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) enters into force today.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s free trade agreement replaces current bilateral agreements with EAEU members, most notably Russia. Serbian bilateral trade with the EAEU\u2019s leader, Russia, amounted to $3.41 billion in 2019 and makes up roughly<\/a> 90% of Serbian trade with EAEU member states. Agricultural products account for more than half of Serbian exports to Russia.<\/p>\n

Once Serbia formally joins the EU, they will be forced<\/a> to withdraw from this new free trade agreement.<\/p>\n

The short-term free trade economic zone created today will make 99% of Serbian goods exported to the EAEU market duty free. Low-cost exports will very likely increase Serbian trade with Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and the Kyrgyzstan in the very short-term, especially in agricultural products.<\/p>\n

Opening further opportunities for Serbian-Russian agricultural trade is a key goal of this agreement. In the short-term, Russia will likely take advantage of the free trade zone to diversify exports to Serbia away from oil and towards<\/a> high quality food products. Serbia has long been a Russian ally and trading partner. But, also may have made this deal to increase pressure on the European Union to allow it to be a member of it.<\/p>\n

As far as Iran goes, US sanctions have been a motivating factor for it to deal with the EAEU. Plus, US sanctions have also motivated Russia and China to take various steps.<\/p>\n
