In some instances, poorly framed headlines and cable news chyrons wrongly suggested that vaccinated Americans are just as likely to spread the disease as unvaccinated Americans. But that isn\u2019t quite the case. Vaccinated Americans still have a far lower chance of becoming infected with the coronavirus and, thus, they are responsible for far less spread of the disease.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe media\u2019s coverage doesn\u2019t match the moment,\u201d one of the Biden officials told me. \u201cIt has been hyperbolic and frankly irresponsible in a way that hardens vaccine hesitancy. The biggest problem we have is unvaccinated people getting and spreading the virus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the Biden officials explained to me, the administration is worried that the media\u2019s focus on these instances of breakthrough infections might lead to people being more hesitant to get a vaccine. Think about it: If you\u2019re a young person, and already believe you will be OK if you do get infected, why would you now get a vaccine, given that coverage suggests you can still just as easily become infected and spread the virus after receiving a shot?<\/p>\n<p>The worry about this line of messaging from major media sources worried officials so much, I\u2019m told, that they reached out to several major news organizations with the aim of getting them to dial back the coverage.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Let that sink in. Someone in the Biden administration is telling the media what to report and how to report it. And while this writer is not above making that assertion, in this instance, it is CNN that makes that assertion \u2014 backed up by \u201ctwo senior Biden administration officials.\u201d Granted, that someone is not likely Biden himself \u2014 that would require him to string words together into coherent sentences. But whoever it is, they have \u201creached out to several major news organizations with the aim of getting them to dial back the coverage\u201d that the White House doesn\u2019t like.<\/p>\n<p>Case in point: Darcy explains that occasionally \u201cpoorly framed headlines and cable news chyrons wrongly suggested that vaccinated Americans are just as likely to spread the disease as unvaccinated Americans.\u201d Darcy claims, \u201cthat isn\u2019t quite the case\u201d since \u201cvaccinated Americans still have a far lower chance of becoming infected with the coronavirus and, thus, they are responsible for far less spread of the disease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the very first headline Darcy cites for this is a <em>Washington Post<\/em> headline that read, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/health\/2021\/07\/30\/provincetown-covid-outbreak-vaccinated\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CDC study shows three-fourths of people infected in Massachusetts coronavirus outbreak were vaccinated<\/a>.\u201d This headline, which Darcy \u2014 having been set straight about his job description by the good folks over at the White House \u2014 describes as \u201cpoorly framed\u201d was an accurate summation of the CDC\u2019s report on the outbreak in Massachusetts. 08\/03\/21 <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/white-house-directs-media-on-what-to-report-on-covid-and-how-to-report-on-it\/\">https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/white-house-directs-media-on-what-to-report-on-covid-and-how-to-report-on-it\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As far as censorship goes, much of the censorship that is happening and is being proposed, in my opinion, is a clear violation of the first amendment of the US Constitution, which states:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First amendment \u2014 Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Despite what that amendment says, the USA has had real problems with federal courts as they have ruled against speech as well as religious freedom. And internet censorship is truly opposing freedom of the modern press.<\/p>\n<p>Related to losing freedom of internet speech\/press, a reader tipped me off that Joseph Mercola, D.O., posted the following<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div id=\"nmBreakingNewsCont\">\n<h2>Why I Am Deleting All Content After 48 Hours<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"artPgWrapperDiv\">\n<div id=\"artPgLeftWrapper\">\n<div>\n<div id=\"artPgHdLnWrapper\">\n<p>August 4, 2021<\/p>\n<p>Today, I have the most important announcement in the quarter of a century history of this newsletter. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>These were the times when many of the views I presented were criticized, but that&#8217;s to be expected. As you are aware, I was placed at the top of this list.<\/p>\n<p>The last week has brought a tremendous amount of reflections to me, and a lot of unacceptable threats to a company full of amazing people that have helped me support you in this journey.<\/p>\n<p>By now I am sure you know that there was a recent NY Times article attacking me and it was one of the most widely distributed stories in the world. The article was loaded with false statements made about me and my organization.<\/p>\n<p>The report would be laughed at if it were to be submitted for peer review, the groups that created it are funded by dark money and operated by an illegal foreign agent. The press never questioned it, but ran with their orders from above. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It is easy to dismiss the media pawns, but the most powerful individual on the planet has targeted me as his primary obstacle that must be removed. Every three letter agency is at his disposal, and the executive powers have grown beyond what an individual American&#8217;s rights can protect against.<\/p>\n<p>A dissenter of medical mandates is now a target and obstacle to be removed. I know \u2013 that&#8217;s 25 years&#8217; worth of blood, sweat and tears coming down.<\/p>\n<p>I can hardly believe these words are coming out of my mouth. It&#8217;s a testament of just how radical things have degenerated in the recent past. However, I will continue to publish new articles, BUT going forward, each article I publish will be available for only 48 hours and will then be removed from the website.<\/p>\n<p>We are at the crossroad where change is unavoidable. We all must make choices that determine our future. To many, this looks like a war &#8230; but what we need to find is peace. Sadly, cyberwarfare and authoritarian forces are beyond our abilities to withstand, and this is now our only way forward. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercola.com\/newsletter-announcement.htm\">https:\/\/www.mercola.com\/newsletter-announcement.htm<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Of course, Dr. Mercola is not the only one that various ones have ganged up against and used censorship as well as false and misleading ways to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Regular readers of this COGwriter Church of God News page are aware that for over a decade I have warned about censorship coming from the government regarding the internet.<\/p>\n<p>We have seen this not only with COVID (last year, Vimeo and Facebook both improperly removed accurate items I posted), but also on aspects of biblical morality (this year, YouTube improperly removed one of our videos for quoting a lot of scriptures on this).<\/p>\n<p>Now, although I have not been a follower of Dr. Mercola, he is correct that we have entered a new dark age.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Mercola is also correct that that various people who made wrong allegations were properly &#8216;peer-reviewed&#8217; prior to publication that false reports would not be accepted.<\/p>\n<p>But we live in a time when many people love to believe certain lies.<\/p>\n<p>For example, the latest post by Gary Leonard at the anti-COG <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/banned-by-hwa.htm\">Banned by HWA<\/a> website has the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bob Thiel. &#8230; His <i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblenewsprophecy.net\">Bible News Propehcy Radio<\/a><\/i> site has him describing himself as thus:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Dr. Bob Thiel\u2019s writings have made him a sought-after expert in the fields of philosophy, religion, research, science, and prophecy. Dr. Thiel has received several awards for his research. He is also a regular radio guest on various AM\/FM and internet radio channels and is the Pastor and Overseer for the Continuing Church of God. It was written by someone in New Zealand that runs the internet radio site. But yes, I have done hundreds of radio interviews, have received research awards, and am the overseeing pastor of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccog.org\"><em>Continuing<\/em> Church of God<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>My point is that false statements are posted and then others latch on to them. In this case, I glanced over the related comments at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/banned-by-hwa.htm\">Banned by HWA<\/a> website&#8211;and those I saw were supportive of false statements about me.<\/p>\n<p>While endorsing commandment-keepers, which would include all true Christians, the Bible also warns about those who believe and love lies:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (Revelation 22:12-15)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Loving and practicing lies looks to be a feature of this time of the 2020s.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible shows that false statements, by those who do not love the truth, were expected to increase in these end times. Notice the following scriptures:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: \u2026 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:1,7)<\/p>\n<p>13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (2 Timothy 3:13, KJV)<\/p>\n<p>18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness \u2026 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:18,22)<\/p>\n<p>20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: (1 Timothy 6:20, KJV)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yes, the Bible warns of lies, suppression of truth, not realizing truth, and false oppositions called science.<\/p>\n<p>More and more in the USA government, which is SUPPOSED to stand for freedom of speech, have called for suppression of free speech related to matters, such as COVID.<\/p>\n<p>We have seen that much of this related to COVID-19 has caused great harm to the world.<\/p>\n<p>There is a major cost for suppression of truth.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, the response to COVID by many governmental authorities was also not based on science but on a fear-promoting agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Pray for God\u2019s <span class=\"style182\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/kingdom.htm\">Kingdom<\/a><\/span> to come as Jesus said (Matthew 6:10).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"style182\"><a title=\"The Kingdom of God is the Solution\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ggfT_8W7oyU\" data-sessionlink=\"ei=FbUHWL2iG9GScvO9lNAB&amp;feature=c4-overview&amp;ved=CDkQ0h4YACITCP2A-ta5588CFVGJHAod8x4FGiibHA\">The Kingdom of God is the Solution<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Isaiah was inspired to record the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever:<\/p>\n<p>9 That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the law of the Lord; 10 Who say to the seers, \u201cDo not see,\u201d And to the prophets, \u201cDo not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. 11 Get out of the way, Turn aside from the path, Cause the Holy One of Israel To cease from before us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:<br \/>\n\u201cBecause you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them, 13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. (Isaiah 30:8-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There are severe consequences prophesied against those that despise the word of God and the type of censorship that the government of the USA and others are working towards.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Bible prophesies a time when a \u2018famine of the word\u2019 is coming (Amos 8:11-12, see also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/short-work.htm\">Preparing for the \u2018Short Work\u2019 and The Famine of the Word<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>We are getting closer to that.<\/p>\n<p>Consider also that the Bible warns:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>12 There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes,<br \/>\nYet is not washed from its filthiness.<br \/>\n13 There is a generation \u2014 oh, how lofty are their eyes!<br \/>\nAnd their eyelids are lifted up.
