A stark reminder from the\u00a0National Weather Service<\/a>, as dangerous heat envelopes the East and West coasts through the start of the weekend, placing nearly half the country under heat alerts and potentially breaking daily record temperatures.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018The Pacific Northwest and Northeast can expect daily record highs to be broken both Thursday and Friday while even more locations have a better chance to observe daily record warm minimum temperatures,\u201d the\u00a0Weather Prediction Center said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nearly 58 million people are under\u00a0excessive heat warnings<\/a>, with major cities like New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Kansas City, Seattle and Portland, included in this highest-level alert.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday features numerous Heat Advisories and some Excessive Heat Warnings from the central Plains to the Northeast. Heat indices in these areas will range between 100-110 degrees with some locations as high as 115 degrees,\u201d the WPC said. https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/08\/12\/weather\/heat-forecast-seattle-portland-new-york-thursday\/index.html<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Of course, temperatures normally rise in the summer.<\/p>\n

But now notice the following about Europe:<\/p>\n

Sicily appears to smash European heat record as temperature soars to nearly 120 degrees Fahrenheit<\/h2>\n

Temperatures soared to nearly 120 degrees Fahrenheit (48.8 degrees Celsius) in a historic town in Sicily on Wednesday, hitting a possible new heat record for Europe.<\/p>\n

Giulio Betti, a meteorologist with the Sicilian Agrometeorolgical Information Service,\u00a0tweeted<\/a>\u00a0that the service verified the temperature in Syracuse, Sicily, on Wednesday. Betti said that it marks the highest temperature ever officially documented in Europe, and the service said it’s the\u00a0highest temperature recorded<\/a>\u00a0by the entire SIAS network since it was installed in 2002. https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/sicily-european-heat-record-120-degrees\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Irrespective of how one views the climate and it is possible that sunspot activity could be involved currently (see High heat in parts of Europe and the USA: Sunspots affecting the Earth?<\/a>), the Bible shows that sin causes problems and facts demonstrate that we have had severe weather.<\/p>\n

As regular readers of this page are aware, I have repeatedly warned of weather problems coming. Back in 2009, in my book, 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect<\/em>, I wrote that the following was about to happen:<\/p>\n

Odd weather patterns result in food shortages and natural disasters.<\/td>\nMatthew 24:7<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Since that was published, we have had record smashing heat and odd weather problems. These weather issues should serve as a wake-up call.<\/p>\n

Record Heat: Is it Biblical?<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Heat records were set in over 118 locations during the Summer of 2018. Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America all had major heat waves. The hottest recorded rain also occurred in the Summer of 2018. Beyond heat related deaths and discomfort, there were other impacts on flora, fauna, and the environment. Does God control the weather? Does God promise good weather for obedience and warn of fire and other weather problems for disobedience? Is what has been happening consistent with the beginning of sorrows and troubles Jesus spoke about? Is worse heat coming according to Bible prophecy? What about sin and repentance? Does the United Nations have the answer? What about the good news of the Kingdom of God? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Since that video, it seems like each summer, more heat records are happening.<\/p>\n

The Bible is clear that God controls the weather and various calamities, but wants people to heed His prophets:<\/p>\n

6… If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it?<\/p>\n

7 Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. (Amos 3:6-7)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Bible tells of weather-related blessings for obedience and weather-related curses for disobedience. Weather is not as random as many people seem to want to believe.<\/p>\n

The Bible warns that God uses weather to send a message. Sometimes God uses drought and then sometimes sends mildew if people will not turn to Him as the following show:<\/p>\n

7 “I also withheld rain from you,
\nWhen there were still three months to the harvest.
\nI made it rain on one city,
\nI withheld rain from another city.
\nOne part was rained upon,
\nAnd where it did not rain the part withered.
\n8 So two or three cities wandered to another city to drink water,
\nBut they were not satisfied;
\nYet you have not returned to Me,”
\nSays the Lord.<\/p>\n

9 “I blasted you with blight and mildew.
\nWhen your gardens increased,
\nYour vineyards,
\nYour fig trees,
\nAnd your olive trees,
\nThe locust devoured them;
\nYet you have not returned to Me,”
\nSays the Lord. (Amos 4:7-9)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While many humans often seem to think otherwise, God is in charge and controls the weather.<\/p>\n

7 Praise the Lord from the earth,
\nYou great sea creatures and all the depths;
\n8 Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
\nStormy wind, fulfilling His word; (Psalms 148:7-8)<\/p>\n

26 “Behold, God is great, and we do not know Him; Nor can the number of His years be discovered. 27 For He draws up drops of water, Which distill as rain from the mist, 28 Which the clouds drop down And pour abundantly on man. 29 Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds, The thunder from His canopy? 30 Look, He scatters His light upon it, And covers the depths of the sea. 31 For by these He judges the peoples; He gives food in abundance. 32 He covers His hands with lightning, And commands it to strike. 33 His thunder declares it, The cattle also, concerning the rising storm. (Job 36:26-33)<\/p>\n

25 For He commands and raises the stormy wind, Which lifts up the waves of the sea. 26 They mount up to the heavens, They go down again to the depths; Their soul melts because of trouble. 27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits’ end. 28 Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. 29 He calms the storm, So that its waves are still. 30 Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven. 31 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 32 Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, And praise Him in the company of the elders. 33 He turns rivers into a wilderness, And the watersprings into dry ground; 34 A fruitful land into barrenness, For the wickedness of those who dwell in it. 35 He turns a wilderness into pools of water, And dry land into watersprings. 36 There He makes the hungry dwell, That they may establish a city for a dwelling place, 37 And sow fields and plant vineyards, That they may yield a fruitful harvest. 38 He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly; And He does not let their cattle decrease. (Psalms 107:25-38)<\/p>\n

17 He casts out His hail like morsels;
\nWho can stand before His cold?
\n18 He sends out His word and melts them;
\nHe causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow. (Psalms 147:17-18)<\/p>\n

3 He sends it forth under the whole heaven, His lightning to the ends of the earth. 4 After it a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain them when His voice is heard. 5 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. 6 For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. 7 He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work. 8 The beasts go into dens, And remain in their lairs. 9 From the chamber of the south comes the whirlwind, And cold from the scattering winds of the north. 10 By the breath of God ice is given, And the broad waters are frozen. 11 Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds. 12 And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, That they may do whatever He commands them On the face of the whole earth. 13 He causes it to come, Whether for correction, Or for His land, Or for mercy. (Job 37:3-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God controls the weather. As the Book of Job records above, weather is sometimes used by God for correction.<\/p>\n

Weather is not as random as most seem to want to believe.<\/p>\n

What about high heat?<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that it will get much worse later:<\/p>\n

8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. (Revelation 16:8-9)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But, the above prophecy is for several years into the future–we are not too near that yet. But I believe that this will happen in the 21st century.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows:<\/p>\n

30 God … commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And weather problems are one tool that God uses to urge people to repent (cf. Haggai 2:17; Amos 4:7-12). But most will not. Nor will most Christians as they should (cf. Revelation 3:14-18; see also The Laodicean Church Era<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Most will ignore weather changes and simply believe that weather changes all the time and the changes do not have to do with God or disobeying His laws.<\/p>\n

Yet, the Bible shows that weird, severe, and odd weather patterns are part of the warning messages that God gives.<\/p>\n
