COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n ZeroHedge posted the following:<\/p>\n September 8, 2021<\/p>\n We\u2019ve all been so focused on the internal divisions in the U.S. and with\u00a0Davos\u00a0<\/em>trying to run the table here that we\u2019ve neglected somewhat old theses about the potential breakup of the European Union.<\/strong><\/p>\n The EU is a mess.<\/strong> \u00a0Everyone knows this. Its banks are zombies<\/strong>. \u00a0Its bond markets oxymorons<\/strong>. \u00a0Its trade relations with the world degrading<\/strong>. \u00a0And its relationship with the people it nominally governs is turning toxic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Moreover, it is led by a bunch of unelected, horrific women who are all the very definition of midwits and ideologues. …<\/p>\n Now these evil witches will, of course, ignore people taking to the streets in France or Italy. \u00a0They will suffer the salient criticisms from people like Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. They do this because they know that the system protects them and believe the momentum of the project is greater than that of the opposition.<\/p>\n But, that may also be a bad assumption on their part.<\/p>\n Because things look to be shifting in places where they think they have the most control and therefore gives them the power to stay on their righteous path. That place is Germany.\u00a0Because when I see German government house organ,\u00a0Die Welt<\/em>, declare fighting inflation is more important than what is happening in Italy<\/a>, there is a lot more going on than just German hysteria, as the mainstream European press (read:\u00a0Davos)<\/em>\u00a0would have you believe.<\/strong><\/p>\n DW\u00a0buries the lede<\/em>\u00a0about why Germans hate inflation at the end of the article even with the provocative headline:<\/p>\n The German citizens are particularly affected by the devaluation of money, as they prefer to put their assets into the savings book or the overnight money account. But these are forms of investment where inflation hits unhindered. Economists therefore ask how German citizens will react to this unfamiliar situation.<\/p>\n \u201cGermans have a particularly large amount of savings in cash and in non-interest-bearing bank accounts, the value of which is now threatened by rising inflation,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0says Schnabl. That could increase the willingness to spend money. This in turn could lead to the fact that the providers use the increased willingness to pay for stronger price increases. Then the risk of an inflation spiral would even increase.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Since cash for depositors in the EU is being taxed at 0.6% annually, 3% inflation in Germany is literally wiping out the middle class there. DW even reminds ECB President Christine Lagarde that she hasn\u2019t even mentioned inflation running ahead of her 2% target, because, well, like Powell she\u00a0believes<\/em>\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0\u201ctransitory.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n And shouldn\u2019t that necessitate ending all the alphabet QE programs? We\u2019ve reached her target, after all? …<\/p>\n Germany is at a crossroads financially. \u00a0It can\u2019t go forward without going backwards.<\/strong><\/p>\n Conversely, France, Italy and Spain all need low interest rates and a relatively strong euro to keep them where they are.<\/strong><\/p>\n To stay solvent they also need a compliant Germany who will monetize all the debt with the ECB acting as the go-between. \u00a0Remember the ECB doesn\u2019t have the capacity to keep up its various alphabet soup programs going (that all boil down to debt purchases) without the consent of the Bundesbanke in Germany.<\/p>\n The German political polling is therefore at odds with the needs of the German politically-powerful. <\/strong>\u00a0Because\u00a0Die Welt<\/em>\u00a0running an article that calls German inflation more important than Italy\u2019s future is like the New York Times saying Jerome Powell needs to raise interest rates by 200 bps tomorrow.<\/p>\n So, what does this all mean?<\/p>\n It means that we\u2019re rapidly approaching that moment Jim Rickards has been talking about for more than ten years, the breaking of the European Union into a Northern currency bloc led by the Germans, Dutch and Danes and the remnant EU led by those financially weakened by the euro\u2019s unstable structure for the past thirty years \u2014 Italy, France and Spain.<\/strong><\/em><\/u><\/p>\n Italy is the prize here. It\u2019s the one country both sides want to validate their vision of the future. \u00a0I don\u2019t know if there can be the compromise that will allow for a complete scrapping of the current system and replace it with a direct digital euro issued from the ECB that is acceptable to Germans.<\/p>\n The signs are there in Germany that is only possible if they control the purse strings. <\/strong>https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/markets\/will-germany-finally-start-eu-breakup<\/a> Many think Europe is doomed. Yet, the Bible shows that a monstrous superstate, called the Beast, will arise in Europe:<\/p>\n 1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns<\/strong>, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”<\/p>\n 5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months<\/strong>. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.<\/p>\n 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. (Revelation 13:1-10).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Notice something from Matthew Henry Commentary’s <\/em>on Revelation 13:1-10:<\/p>\n The apostle, standing on the shore, saw a savage beast rise out of the sea; a tyrannical, idolatrous, persecuting power, springing up out of the troubles which took place. It was a frightful monster!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Yes, the monstrous Beast power will rise up. Whether or not it will still be called the European Union is not specified in scripture.<\/p>\n But it will arise in Europe.<\/p>\n Notice the following from the Hebrew scriptures:<\/p>\n 2 Daniel spoke, saying, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea<\/strong>. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. (Daniel 7:2-3)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The \u201cGreat Sea\u201d that bordered the ancient lands of Israel (Numbers 34:6-7; Joshua 1:4; 9:1; 23:4; Ezekiel 47:13-16) is the Mediterranean Sea–and that is the sea that Daniel was referring to. Despite some false claims by some, the Beast power is not a nation like Russia, which does not border the Mediterranean Sea, but Europe which does (Russia, however, will be a factor in eliminating the European beast power, see also The Eurasian Union, the Kings of the East, and Bible Prophecy<\/a>). A comparison of the beasts in Revelation 13 and Daniel 7 shows that they share many of the same characteristics (for some details, you may wish to watch the YouTube video Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?<\/a>).<\/p>\n Europe is the power that will control the \u201cGreat Sea.\u201d And while the southern border of the Mediterranean Sea is currently under Arab control, the Bible shows that the King of the North will take over the Arab powers (Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:1-9).<\/p>\n Getting back to the Hebrew scriptures:<\/p>\n 7 “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns<\/strong>. (Daniel 7:7)<\/p>\n 23 “Thus he said:<\/p>\n ‘The fourth beast shall be The New Testament shows that this Beast power rises up after a reorganization:<\/p>\n 7 But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. (Revelation 17:7)<\/p>\n 12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Economic, political, religious, health, ethnic\/migrant, and military reasons\/crises will get Europeans to decide that they must support an autocratic superstate.<\/p>\n Some want an empire, and most nations in Europe are now supporting a European army called PESCO:<\/p>\n In November 2018, French President Macron called for a \u201ctrue European army\u201d because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted \u201ca very strong Europe.\u201d Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as \u201cmy friend\u201d and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe\u2019s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with \u201ca great army\u201d? Has Donald Trump\u2019s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? Is the idea of a United States of Europe and a European army a \u201cparanoid fantasy\u201d or a biblical reality? Will the USA regret Europe becoming a stronger military power? Will the USA be betrayed by \u201cfriends\u201d such as its continental European allies? Does the Bible teach any or all of this? The Europeans developed its PESCO (Permanent Structured Cooperation) military within a year of Donald Trump becoming USA president. Is current President Joe Biden changing that direction? Will Europe end up with any army of any significance? What does the Bible teach? But not full agreement. The Bible is CLEAR that there will be disunity in Europe (cf. Daniel 2:41-43). We continue to see that.<\/p>\n There will be economic and civil crises.<\/p>\n Then there will come a couple of prophesied reorganizations in Europe (Revelation 17:12-13, see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?<\/a>), and the militaristic superstate that the Bible refers to as the ‘Beast of the Sea’ (Revelation 13:1=10) will arise. The monstrous superstate will come–and it will destroy the United Kingdom (and the United States and others for that matter, cf.
