Parents of newborns will describe in detail, to anyone willing to listen, the wonder that is their baby\u2019s smell \u2013 and they might not be in the wrong. A new study by researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot have revealed that sniffing a particular body-odor molecule excreted in abundance from the heads of newborn babies has an opposite effect on women and men. It reduces aggression in men but increases it in women.<\/p>\n

This finding is among the first to provide a direct link among human behavior, a brain mechanism and a single molecule picked up through the sense of smell. The study shows that the molecule plays an important social role \u2013 regulating aggression in adults. …<\/p>\n

Moreover, the study, published today in Science Advances<\/i> under the title \u201cSniffing the human body volatile hexadecanal blocks aggression in men but triggers aggression in women\u201d found that the molecule affects women one way, and has the opposite effect on men. The molecule, the researchers found, decreases connectivity in parts of the brain that regulate social decision-making in women, while in men it increases this connectivity. These brain differences may underlie the different behavioral outcomes. …<\/p>\n

\u201cI am very sensitive to matters of gender, and it was very important for me to include women in our study,\u201d notes Mishor. We tend to assume that men and women have, overall, similar brains. But when the researchers took sex into account, they discovered that the different behaviors followed a clear logic: HEX affects men and women differently. Humans have an additional pair of sex chromosomes for a total of 46 chromosomes. The sex chromosomes are referred to as X and Y, and their combination determines a person’s sex. That\u2019s because there are at least 6,500 genes that contain sex-specific instructions for males and\u00a0females.<\/p>\n

For the study by Israel\u2019s Weizmann Institute of Science<\/a>, professor Shmuel Pietrokovski and Dr. Moran Gershoni, both researchers from the institute\u2019s Molecular Genetics Department, \u201clooked closely at around 20,000 protein-coding genes, sorting them by sex and searching for differences in expression in each tissue. They eventually identified around 6,500 genes with activity that was biased toward one sex or the other in at least one tissue, adding to the already major biological differences between men and women.\u201d …<\/p>\n

The new findings are further evidence that biological males cannot simply \u201ctransition\u201d into females and vice versa, argues Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis recent study from Israel\u2019s Weizmann Institute of Science further proves that you cannot fool Mother Nature,\u201d Staver said. \u201cThe saying, \u2018I think, therefore, I am\u2019 is best left to philosophy and not science. Gender confusion is mental, not physical or biological. God made male and female, and no amount of protestation will change the natural created order.\u201d<\/p>\n

Staver called the idea that a person can choose his or her gender \u201cfiction.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a\u00a0scientific first, researchers claim to have found that differences between men\u2019s and women\u2019s brains start in the womb.<\/p>\n

The conclusion is likely to be controversial, with some experts claiming social influences are more important.<\/p>\n

But scientists who did brain scans of 118 foetuses in the second half of pregnancy to analyse the links between gender and the connectivity of a developing brain believe the differences are biological. \u2026<\/p>\n

According to the US study, published in the journal Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, female brains growing in the uterus produced \u2018long-range\u2019 networks.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While I do not think that this is necessarily \u201ca scientific first\u201d (as others noted brain development differences between male and female brains in utero<\/em>), it is at least additional proof that boys and girls are biologically different in a way that is not clearly visually seen.<\/p>\n

Since this study involved the unborn, it also helps negate the false narrative that ‘gender’ is not biological, but the result of societal environmental factors.<\/p>\n

Of course, many ‘moderns’ want to act like there is no difference, but the Bible is clear that men and women are different. God warned that there would be those “who suppress the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18). But the truth is still the truth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The New Testament is also clear that God created marriage from the beginning:<\/div>\n

Notice that God made humans male and female from the beginning.<\/p>\n

And they are different.<\/p>\n
