The Middle East remains ablaze with rebellion fever and Islamic passion.\u00a0 Every day now brings more news of demonstrations being met with deadly force and all kinds of mayhem.\u00a0 Yemen is back in the current news, with a shelling attack on the presidential palace killing seven and wounding the Yemeni president Saleh.\u00a0 For many consecutive days we\u2019ve heard reports of escalating street battles, scores shot dead.\u00a0 Reuters<\/em> reports, \u201cMore than 370 people have been killed, at least 155 of them in the last 10 days, since a popular uprising began in January against Saleh\u2019s long rule. (33 years)\u00a0 \u201cGlobal powers are worried that Yemen, home to a wing of militant al Qaeda known as AQAP and bordering the world\u2019s biggest oil exporter Saudi Arabia, could become a failed state raising risks for world oil supplies.\u201d\u00a0 Ah, just another beautiful day in the so-called \u201cArab spring\u201d that has so enraptured the mainstream media and benefited from encouragement from our current U.S. administration.<\/p>\n

News out of Syria is similarly worrisome.\u00a0 Demonstrators numbering an estimated 100,000 flooded the streets of Hama, where in 1982 Hafez al Assad sent in the army to crush an Islamic Brotherhood uprising killing over 10,000 and destroying much of the city.\u00a0 Now protestors are commemorating that event, trying to bring down the regime of the son, Bashir al Assad.\u00a0 The protest was broken up with gunfire that killed a reported 34.\u00a0 Reports have come from Syria every day of protesters shot down in the streets, some kidnapped and tortured with no end in sight.\u00a0 It is developing as another \u201chumanitarian disaster\u201d, and calls are intensifying for western intervention like we see in Libya…<\/p>\n

The Muslim Brotherhood has condemned the killing of bin Laden.\u00a0 Reports from the Jerusalem Post<\/em> show that Egypt\u2019s mosques now serve as political party headquarters for Muslim Brotherhood activists.\u00a0 Their line of logic holds that terrorist attacks are legitimate \u201cacts of resistance\u201d so long as Israel remains intact.<\/p>\n

All this pressure is ultimately building against Israel.\u00a0 It appears that anarchy will continue to escalate under the pretext that all would be well if only Israel would give up Jerusalem.\u00a0 Just two weeks ago, President Obama even made the suggestion that the key to peace would be for Israel to retreat behind the pre-1967 lines.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Something not mentioned above is that there are now problems in Kuwait and that the Muslim Brotherhood is rising in many Middle Eastern countries.<\/p>\n

I would add that “all this pressure” that Mark Armstrong alluded to will not just affect Israel (some of what will affect Israel is in the article Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel<\/a>), but will result in the rise of the final prophesied King of the South<\/a>.\u00a0 Now that Osama bin Laden is dead, the Arab World, and not just those who are part of the more extremist side of Islam, are looking for such a leader.<\/p>\n

As it turns out, one considered to have been Osama bin Laden’s potential replacement was killed last night:<\/p>\n

So, al-Qaida is having problems, yet notice another headline from today’s news:<\/p>\n

So, despite al-Qaida’s problems, the Muslim Brotherhood appears top be in a growth mode.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, if the Muslim Brotherhood gets a lot of politicians in elected in Egypt (and it has a lot of candidates officially running for various positions, for some examples, see Muslim Brotherhood Trying for 1\/2 of Egypt\u2019s Parliament<\/a>), it will likely build a power-base in Egypt that will influence other Islamic states (and that has already started to happen).<\/p>\n

We in the Living Church of God<\/a> (LCG) expect a pan-Arabic leader, and believe it may involve the Muslim Brotherhood:<\/p>\n

The fact is that food prices, the Muslim Brotherhood or any number of other political or religious factors are only contributing reasons<\/em> for the current Arab-world turmoil. The underlying reason<\/em> is that the Almighty Creator God is allowing geopolitics to align according to His will, and according to His time! Scripture is clear that God supremely reigns over all<\/em> nations and all<\/em> empires (2 Chronicles 20:6, Daniel 4:25), and He sometimes allows demonic principalities<\/em> to influence people, nations, and rulers (Daniel 10:20, Ephesians 6:12).<\/p>\n

Is the current Arab crisis setting the stage for a future king of the South? While the timing <\/em>is entirely up to God, the simple answer is that yes<\/em>, Arab geopolitics are moving ahead exactly<\/em> as Bible prophecy has long foretold! Read more <\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
