Germany as Leading Power <\/a><\/h3>\n

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz wants the EU to play a \u201cgeopolitical role.\u201d<\/h4>\n

BERLIN\/BRUSSELS<\/span> (Own report) \u2013 The EU should play a \u201cgeopolitical role\u201d and therefore \u201cclose ranks\u201d and step up its militarization, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz demands in an op-ed published in the Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung. He promises \u201cconcrete proposals\u201d in the next few months and is already demanding the abolition of the right to veto on foreign policy issues, which enables smaller states to protect their vital interests against the pressure of the powerful member states. A similar view was recently expressed by SPD Chair Lars Klingbeil. \u201cAfter nearly 80 years\u201d of alleged \u201crestraint,\u201d Germany should claim \u201cthe role of a leading power,\u201d the SPD-Chair demanded. This would \u201crequire tough decisions by Berlin.\u201d Klingbeil also called for massive rearmament of the Bundeswehr. Scholz and Klingbeil are worried because the developing and emerging countries are refusing, to a growing extent, to follow the old West and are pursuing their own independent policy. …<\/p>\n

The Language of Power<\/h3>\n

By demanding that the EU \u201cplay a geopolitical role,\u201d[1] Chancellor Olaf Scholz is reiterating similar statements leading German politicians have made in previous years. In 2017, Foreign Minister at the time, Sigmar Gabriel, complained that the EU is not yet \u201ca real factor in the world\u201d and that it lacks \u201cpower projection.\u201d It is, therefore, all the more \u201curgent\u201d that Europe \u201cdefines its own interests and projects its power.\u201d[2] If a \u201cpolitico-strategic way of thinking\u201d were to take hold in Berlin and Brussels in the future, the \u201cjousting for power\u201d will begin, \u201cwhich will not be pleasant,\u201d according to Gabriel. In February 2018, the Minister reiterated that the EU needs to project its power in the world \u2013 on military level, as well. \u201cIn a world full of carnivores, vegetarians have a very tough time of it.\u201d[3] In November 2019, designated EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen chimed in. On the one hand, \u201cthis means building our own muscles in security policy.\u201d On the other, the Union must become \u201cmore strategic, in light of Europe\u2019s external interests.\u201d \u201cEurope must learn the language of power,\u201d declared von der Leyen.[4]<\/p>\n

To finally have the EU play a \u201cgeopolitical role\u201d Chancellor Scholz calls for political \u201ccohesiveness.\u201d \u201cPermanent disunity, permanent dissent among the member countries weaken us.\u201d Therefore, there must be \u201can end to the egotistical blockages by individual countries of European decisions.\u201d 07\/19\/22 https:\/\/www.german-foreign-policy.com\/en\/news\/detail\/8981<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Olaf Scholz has basically called for Europe to reorganize. The Bible shows that it will in Revelation 17:12-13:<\/p>\n

12 \u201cThe ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet<\/strong>, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.\u00a0 (Revelation 17:12-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The new German government must now face the fact that, after the change of regime, Central Europe, which has its own sphere of interest, has achieved a position of economic interdependence to some degree with Germany. Boris Johnson, the former Mayor of London, stated that the European Union wanted to be what Adolf Hitler and Napoleon Bonaparte tried to create. Duncan Smith agreed. But European Council President Donald Tusk called Johnson\u2019s comments absurd and then stated that the EU was the answer to the problems facing Europe. But what does the Bible teach about the future of Europe? Is European unity the answer or will it usher in something worse than Adolph Hitler? Dr. Thiel quotes Jesus and others in the Bible for those who truly want to know what will happen in a unified Europe.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To most at this time, Europe currently looks divided and unequal in various ways. Yet, the Bible prophesied that:<\/p>\n

41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter\u2019s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Bible is showing that there will be unity problems within Europe–and we see that now. It will take a strong leader to make Europe\u2019s coming, temporary unity stronger–but that is prophesied (cf. Revelation 17:13).<\/p>\n

The old Radio and Worldwide Church of God published the following decades ago (bolding<\/strong> mine):<\/p>\n

These nations are ENJOYING their economic recovery and they will let nothing stand in its way \u2014 they will stop at nothing to keep \u2018What they have, and, GO ON TO MORE! SO it is that a blueprint has been drawn up by the Six, that demands meetings among themselves to decide the MILITARY AND FOREIGN POLICY questions that come up regarding Europe! \u2026<\/p>\n

The prophecy of Daniel 11 details events \u2014 at that time, still future \u2014 from the remaining days of the Medo-Persian empire, through the reign of Alexander the Great and his successors in Syria and Egypt, and on through to the second coming of Christ! Beginning in verse 40 we read of a conflict between two great powers: \u201cAnd at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is an important \u201cend-time\u201d prophecy. Following the chronological progression of the chapter, it becomes apparent that the phrase \u201cking of the north\u201d had at first referred to Syria under the Seleucid dynasty, and later, in the New Testament times, to the Emperor of the Roman Empire. \u2026 Thus, in its final end-time application, the \u201cking of the north\u201d is the prophesied strong man who will lead a coming<\/strong> union of ten European nations \u2014 the seventh and final revival of the ancient Roman Empire<\/strong> prophesied by Daniel and in the book of Revelation (see Revelation 17:12-13). … the \u201cking of the north\u201d of Daniel 11 \u2014 the leader of the German-led European union<\/strong> \u2014 will ultimately turn against the Arab \u201cking of the south,\u201d with disastrous consequences for the entire Middle East \u2014 both Jew and Arab alike. And the Bible?<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that the European beast<\/a> leader, also called the King of the North<\/a>, will arise promising peace.<\/p>\n

21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. (Daniel 11:21-23, NKJV)<\/p>\n

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many<\/strong>: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Daniel 8:25, KJV).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Prior to Daniel 11:39-43, Europe will one day support a dictatorial strongman. The Bible calls him the Beast of the Sea (Revelation 13:1-10) and the King of the North<\/a> (Daniel 11:40).<\/p>\n

What about the view of some Worldwide Church of God writers that this dictatorial leader will be German?<\/p>\n

Well that is consistent with biblical prophecies in places like Isaiah 10:5-12 (see also Germany in Biblical Prophecy<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, people are starting to notice that Europe is already being dominated by Germany (see also \u2018Undemocratic\u2019 European Union has become a German empire<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Now consider something else that the old Worldwide Church of God published in 1980:<\/p>\n

Finally feeling the chilling embrace of Moscow, the German people may yet call for the Bavarian strongman \u2014 the one they feared in good times \u2014 to rescue them from their impending doom. (Hogberg G. WHERE Is WEST GERMANY Headed? Plain Truth, December 1980).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A Bavarian strongman would be someone from Bavaria in Germany. The one that Gene Hogberg had in mind back in 1980 (Franz Joseph Strauss) died. Yet, let me add that there is another Bavarian strongman who I have kept my eye on who may one day rise up. His name is Karl-Theodor zu-Guttenberg (see Might German Baron Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg become the King of the North?<\/a>). A reader sent me a link a while back to a presentation that Herr Guttenberg gave in May of 2016 where he called for more passionate leaders in Europe. One such leader will arise. And we see that concerns about Russia have been a factor in Germany and others in Europe taking military and other steps.<\/p>\n

After Russia’s ‘special military operation’ into Ukraine, Germany declared it would increase its military spending to the third highest level of any nation on the planet? German-Foreign-Policy.com reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz wants the European Union to play a powerful and more unified geopolitical role. Does what he is stating consistent with prophecies in the Book of Revelation about Europe reorganizing and turning power over to one called the Beast? Are some in Poland and Hungary (like Peter G. Feher) concerned about the domination of Europe by Germany? Is a European\/German leader prophesied as the “King of the North” to make some type of a deal with a leader of nations in the Middle East and North Africa called the “King of the South”?
