COGwriter<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Are we about to enter a new time of destruction?<\/p>\n The Jews began celebrating a new civil year, which they call 5783 A.M. last evening.<\/p>\n Could it be related to a ‘super shemitah’ year and destruction?<\/p>\n Before answering that, let’s get some scriptural background.<\/p>\n The first day of the seventh month (Ethanim\/Tishri) of the Hebrew calendar, which we call the Feast of Trumpets, was considered the beginning of the civil year. This is similar to how the first month (Nisan) was considered to be the beginning of God’s sacred year (cf. Exodus 12:2).<\/p>\n The beginning of each month for ancient Israel was to be marked with the blowing of trumpets per Numbers 10:10.<\/p>\n Every seven years there was a rest for the land–starting with the first year the children of Israel came into the promised land –and every seven years thereafter:<\/p>\n 1 And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord. 3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit; 4 but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard. (Leviticus 25:1-5)<\/p>\n 10 “Six years you shall sow your land and gather in its produce, 11 but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave, the beasts of the field may eat. In like manner you shall do with your vineyard and your olive grove. (Exodus 23:10-11)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The land rest helped the land become more productive as well as provided assistance to the poor.<\/p>\n According to the Jews, the a “Shmita year” occurred in “2021-2022 (5782)” (Wikipedia).<\/p>\n However, the Jews have a problem counting years as that was NOT the year 5782 nor is the current one 5783, but more like approximately 5989-5992 (see Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?<\/a>). Basically, this is because they did not want prophecies in the 9th chapter of the Book of Daniel to point to Jesus, so they made changes–changes that were recorded in a book called the Seder Olam–which Jewish scholars have long admitted is inaccurate.<\/p>\n That being said, the just ended Jewish Shemita year was accepted by the Messianic Jew<\/a>\u00a0Jonathan Cahn and certain other Protestants<\/a>.<\/p>\n Some said the claimed<\/em> Shemitah year running from sunset September 6, 2021 through sunset September 25, 2022 would bring disaster.<\/p>\n The idea of disasters coming from\/during a Shemitah year was popularized nine or so years ago by Jonathan Cahn, who is perhaps best known for his book The Harbinger<\/em>. I looked into the timing of this before and posted that I DID NOT BELIEVE THAT starting with sunset on September 6, 2021 we would be a Shemitah year, thus stated that any claims based upon that were irrelevant.<\/p>\n Jonathan Cahn was wrong about what he taught would\/might happen at the end of his previously claimed on last one (see September \u2018convergence\u2019: a harbinger of potential disaster?<\/a>)<\/p>\n I also never accepted\u00a0Jonathan Cahn’s belief that the Shemitah was from Trumpets 2014 to Trumpets 2015 (and denounced him for his inaccuracies there; e.g.\u00a06000 years up and Jesus to return in 2016?<\/a>)–but it seemingly helped him sell books.<\/p>\n Years ago, I saw an interview on\u00a0CBN<\/em>\u00a0by Pat Robertson of Jonathan Cahn that was first broadcast 02\/05\/2013.<\/p>\n The interview screen at one point showed something that resembled two Power Point slides, apparently from Jonathan Cahn or one of his books. The first slide had the following information:<\/p>\n PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE\u00a0\u00a0 2015 Sep 13<\/p>\n ELLUL 29\u00a0\u00a0 SEPTEMBER 13, 2015<\/p>\n GLOBAL COLLAPSE?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n So, the above was a prediction of a possible global collapse at the end of a year that was likely NOT the Shemitah year.<\/p>\n The second had the following information:<\/p>\n TETRAD ELLUL 29<\/p>\n THIS SOLAR ECLIPSE IS WITHIN THE TRIBULATION TETRAD<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Now if by tribulation, Jonathan Cahn meant the Great Tribulation, I wrote that it was not at all possible to begin then.<\/p>\n In September of 2015, he seemed to cautiously ‘double-down’ on his prediction as he stated:<\/p>\n I can tell you now that if Almighty God continues His pattern of judgment on the USA, the financial collapse of the US dollar, will happen on Sunday, the 13th of September 2015. http:\/\/projectavalon.net\/forum4\/showthread.php?73382-MARKET-CRASH-DATE-PREDICTED-In-line-with-Christine-Legarde-s\u2013Luck-7s-..<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Of course, that did not happen.<\/p>\n Before Jonathan Cahn was proven wrong on some of this, the well-known Protestant Pat Robertson said:<\/p>\n God \u2026 has ordained this young man as His prophet \u2026 Jonathan \u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Is Jonathan Cahn God\u2019s prophet as Pat Robertson stated?<\/p>\n No, he is not. If Jonathan Cahn is any type of a prophet, I would have to say that he is a false prophet.<\/p>\n Jonathan Cahn does not meet the New Testament criteria, plus his errors and misunderstanding of various matters disqualify him (to learn more about prophets, please see the article How To Determine If Someone is a True Prophet of God<\/a>\u00a0and\/or watch the video also titled\u00a0How to determine if someone is a true prophet of God<\/a>).<\/p>\n WND also called Jonathan Cahn a \u2018watchman\u2019 (see\u00a0WND claims \u2018Harbinger Man\u2019 is a \u2018watchman\u2019<\/a>), but he was most certainly not God\u2019s watchman. However, God does use watchmen (see\u00a0Go, Set a Watchman<\/a>).<\/p>\n Jonathan Cahn needs to publicly repent before it is too late. Various Protestants need to stop promoting him as a prophet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Jonathan Cahn wrote a book on the Shemitah, then when it was, in my view quite wrong, he updated it.<\/p>\n The 2018 updated book is titled:\u00a0The Mystery of the Shemitah Updated Edition: The 3,000-Year-Old Mystery That Holds the Secret of America\u2019s Future, the World\u2019s Future…and Your Future!<\/em>\u00a0The back cover of the book states:<\/p>\n WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT? … Understanding this seven-year pattern is essential for understanding the prophecy and the mysteries of the Bible that are still applicable today … the rise–and possibly the fall–of America can be linked to the year of the Shemitah.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n If this was ESSENTIAL for Christians to understand prophecy, then in my view, Jesus would have so stated. Instead, He pointed to various signs in the Gospels as well as to the Book of Daniel. The USA did not, in a massive way, rise or fall in this last claimed Shemitah year.<\/p>\n It is not just Jonathan Cahn who has pointed to the recently claimed Shemitah year for possible upheaval.
