As her tweet above shows, this was not intended as a personal visit, but an official Congressional visit. The <em>Associated Press<\/em> reported the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>August 3, 2022<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) \u2014 U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, meeting leaders in Taiwan despite warnings from China, said Wednesday that she and other members of Congress in <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/china-asia-beijing-malaysia-a5a6acc391511c99b1b4c2d69e67b133\">a visiting delegation<\/a> are showing they will not abandon their commitment to the self-governing island.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">\u201cToday the world faces a choice between democracy and autocracy,\u201d she said in a short speech during a meeting with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen. \u201cAmerica\u2019s determination to preserve democracy, here in Taiwan and around the world, remains ironclad.\u201d &#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">Pelosi\u2019s trip has <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/taiwan-biden-asia-united-states-beijing-e3a6ea22e004f21e6b2a28b0f28ec4c5\">heightened U.S.-China tensions<\/a> more than visits by other members of Congress because of her high-level position as leader of the House of Representatives. She is the first speaker of the House to visit Taiwan in 25 years, since <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/china-beijing-xi-jinping-hong-kong-2c2b95758dd6faa6eed87a7c5cf298d4\">Newt Gingrich in 1997<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">Taiwanese President Tsai responded Wednesday to Beijing\u2019s military intimidation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">\u201cFacing deliberately heightened military threats, Taiwan will not back down,\u201d Tsai said at her meeting with Pelosi. \u201cWe will firmly uphold our nation\u2019s sovereignty and continue to hold the line of defense for democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">Tsai, thanking Pelosi for her decades of support for Taiwan, presented the speaker with a civilian honor, the Order of the Propitious Clouds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">China\u2019s response has been loud and varied.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">Shortly after Pelosi landed Tuesday night, China announced live-fire drills that reportedly started that night, as well as the four-day exercises starting Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">The People\u2019s Liberation Army Air Force also flew a contingent of 21 war planes Tuesday night, including fighter jets, toward Taiwan. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng also summoned the U.S. ambassador in Beijing, Nicholas Burns, to convey the country\u2019s protests the same night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-342 Component-p-0-2-329\">Chinese state broadcaster CCTV published images of PLA drills and video Wednesday, although it was unclear where they were being conducted. <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/taiwan-asia-beijing-nancy-pelosi-taipei-938933cfaea62b31e7577b0a2a4f7006\">https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/taiwan-asia-beijing-nancy-pelosi-taipei-938933cfaea62b31e7577b0a2a4f7006<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While this visit will not spark World War III, there will be consequences. China has already put on a military display. China has also been taking steps to bypass the USA dollar, and will take more steps. China will also be quite willing to support the end of the USA, which is prophesied to come (cf. Daniel 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7). China is likely to take trade-related steps as well as take further steps in controlling more of the South China Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Russia has voiced concerned about this visit:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>August 3, 2022<\/p>\n<p>(Reuters) &#8211; The Kremlin said on Wednesday that the level of tension provoked by U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi&#8217;s visit to Taiwan &#8220;should not be underestimated&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to a question about whether the world was closer to war, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that he was not in favour of using that word but reiterated that the visit was a &#8220;provocation&#8221;. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aol.com\/news\/kremlin-tension-over-pelosis-taiwan-103320780-142712675.html\">https:\/\/www.aol.com\/news\/kremlin-tension-over-pelosis-taiwan-103320780-142712675.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Russia is supporting China&#8217;s position on this. And yes, there will be consequences.<\/p>\n<p>China may decide to put out a naval blockade around Taiwan as well as take other actions to reduce its independence.<\/p>\n<p>China, ultimately, will be at least confederate with Taiwan according to my read of prophecies in the Book of Revelation. This visit looks to be a spark for China to take more steps towards reunification. Nancy Pelosi&#8217;s visit may well be used as part of China&#8217;s justification in taking over Taiwan in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Here are two\u00a0 another reports about the visit:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>August 3, 2022<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Nancy Pelosi &#8230; has already departed on Wednesday, amid ongoing Chinese PLA military drills surrounding the self-ruled island on many sides, which are the result of her visit which Beijing has vehemently condemned, with the foreign ministry warning overnight the US will <strong>&#8220;pay the price&#8221;<\/strong>.\u00a0 &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, more of China&#8217;s outrage was on display throughout Wednesday, with Hua Chunying, a spokeswoman for the Chinese foreign ministry, previewing to a scheduled media briefing more repercussions and punishment to come.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As for the specific countermeasures, what I can tell you is that they\u2019ll include everything that should be included,&#8221;Hua <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/world.people.com.cn\/n1\/2022\/0803\/c1002-32493679.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a>. &#8220;The measures in question will be firm, vigorous and effective, and<strong> the U.S. side and Taiwan independence forces will continue feeling them<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A statement in state-run <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/page\/202208\/1272108.shtml\">Global Times<\/a> has declared the &#8220;median line&#8221; separating the Taiwan Strait will not longer be recognized.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Joint military exercises around the island of Taiwan by the Chinese People&#8217;s Liberation Army (PLA) continued Wednesday with <strong>a joint blockade, sea assault and land and air combat trainings<\/strong>, involving the use of advanced weapons including <strong>J-20 stealth fighter jets and DF-17 hypersonic missiles<\/strong> after the drills started on Tuesday evening, when US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi landed on the island which seriously violates China&#8217;s sovereignty,&#8221; the provocative statement says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The exercises are unprecedented as the PLA conventional missiles are <strong>expected to fly over the island of Taiwan for the first time<\/strong>, the PLA forces will enter area within 12 nautical miles of the island and that the so-called median line will cease to exist, experts said, noting that by surrounding Taiwan entirely, the PLA are completely blockading the island demonstrating the Chinese mainland&#8217;s absolute control over the Taiwan question,&#8221; the publication adds. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/pelosi-departs-taiwan-after-president-tsai-bestowed-highest-medal-china-preps-largest\">https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/pelosi-departs-taiwan-after-president-tsai-bestowed-highest-medal-china-preps-largest<\/a><\/p>\n<p>August 3, 2022<\/p>\n<p>In a reckless provocation that deliberately heightens war tensions with China, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi landed in Taiwan late last night aboard a military aircraft accompanied by her congressional delegation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Despite concerns over the potential for a military clash or conflict with China, the Biden administration came together with the entire US political and military establishment in backing Pelosi\u2019s trip. &#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>US officials, the American media and Pelosi herself promoted the lie that her trip and the accompanying military operation was \u201croutine,\u201d and her presence in Taipei did not deviate from decades of American policy and diplomacy.<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi\u2019s trip is anything but routine. She is the highest-ranking US official to visit Taiwan in more than a quarter century. Her visit is just the latest in calculated steps taken by the Trump and Biden administrations to undermine the One China policy that has been the foundation of political relations between the US and China since formal diplomatic ties were established in 1979.<\/p>\n<p>Under the One China policy, Washington de facto recognised that Beijing as the legitimate government of all China, including the island of Taiwan. It broke off diplomatic relations with the military dictatorship in Taipei and withdrew its military forces from the island. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As US imperialism prepares for conflict against China, it is winding up the same cynical and hypocritical \u201chuman rights\u201d propaganda used as the pretext for all its criminal interventions and wars of the past three decades. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsws.org\/en\/articles\/2022\/08\/03\/swuo-a03.html\">https:\/\/www.wsws.org\/en\/articles\/2022\/08\/03\/swuo-a03.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div id=\"contents\" class=\"style-scope ytd-shelf-renderer\">\n<div id=\"scroll-container\" class=\"style-scope yt-horizontal-list-renderer\">\n<div id=\"items\" class=\"style-scope yt-horizontal-list-renderer\">\n<div id=\"dismissable\" class=\"style-scope ytd-grid-video-renderer\">\n<div id=\"contents\" class=\"style-scope ytd-shelf-renderer\">\n<p>China believes that there is one China and that Taiwan is part of China. The USA officially has a &#8220;One China policy.&#8221; Meaning that it officially does not recognize Taiwan as independent from China.<\/p>\n<p>Notice:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The <b>One China principle<\/b> is the position held by the <a title=\"China\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/China\">People&#8217;s Republic of China<\/a> (PRC) that there is only one sovereign state under the name China, with the PRC serving as the sole legitimate government of that China, and Taiwan is a part of China.<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/One_China#cite_note-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/One_China#cite_note-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup> It is opposed to the idea that there are <a title=\"Two Chinas\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Two_Chinas\">two states holding the name &#8220;China&#8221;<\/a>, the People&#8217;s Republic of China (PRC) and the <a title=\"Taiwan\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Taiwan\">Republic of China<\/a> (ROC); as well as the idea that China and Taiwan <a title=\"One Country on Each Side\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/One_Country_on_Each_Side\">form two separate countries<\/a>. &#8230;<sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ILfuVd\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hgKElc\">The One China policy refers to a United States policy &#8230; It &#8220;acknowledges that all Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China&#8221; and &#8220;does not challenge that position.&#8221; (One China. Wikipedia, accessed 08\/03\/22)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"justify\">The issue here is USA hypocrisy.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Since Nancy Pelosi is visiting Taiwan in an official US government capacity, and the USA position is that Taiwan is part of China, and since China said Nancy Pelosi was not to come, then the USA looks to have violated its own policy and violated Chinese sovereignty.<\/p>\n<p>That is not posted here to justify any military action by either side.<\/p>\n<p>But it is posted to point out that much of the USA media and political class has failed to see USA hypocrisy here.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible, KJV translation, predicts the end of \u201can hypocritical nation\u201d (Isaiah 10:5-11).<\/p>\n<p>The Bible also warns:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>12 As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed (Isaiah 9:16).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As far as Nancy Pelosi herself goes, she has been accused of hypocrisy before. She is a professed Roman Catholic, while also being a staunch supporter of abortion and sexual perversion &#8220;rights.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here are some comments related to her and this trip from &#8216;Simon Black&#8217;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Now, obviously it\u2019s not up to China to dictate US policy or actions. But like Alcibiades\u2019 trip to the Peloponnese in 418 BC, there is absolutely zero benefit in Pelosi going to Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>The US economy is in a tailspin. &#8230; Inflation is raging. People are suffering.<\/p>\n<p>What exactly does this woman hope to achieve? Will her visit to Taiwan somehow make inflation miraculously retreat? &#8230; It\u2019s all risk and no reward\u2026 just so that Pelosi can showboat in front of the cameras before her retirement next year.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019d think that someone with decades of political experience\u2013 an \u2018expert\u2019 in international diplomacy\u2013 would understand such a simple reality, and then rationally choose the course of action which will benefit her country the most. But that\u2019s a laughable proposition.<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi has a multi-decade track record of deceit, disloyalty, cowardice, and arrogance. She\u2019s even despised by prominent members of her own party. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Something is clearly wrong with this system that produces such bizarre, lopsided outcomes from serially corrupt and incompetent candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi is just one of countless examples\u2013 a #mefirst, self-centered hypocrite who has become the modern day Alcibiades. Understand that because the USA has an official &#8220;one China policy&#8221; that it told China it would adhere to, it should abide by its policy. If not, it should have changed its policy.<\/p>\n<p>There are many ways that the USA has shown itself to be hypocritical.<\/p>\n<p>And the Bible teaches destruction will come to &#8220;an hypocritical nation&#8221; (Isaiah 10:6, KJV).<\/p>\n<p>The USA and its Anglo-Saxon-Celtic allies will not last to the end of this century.<\/p>\n<p>And maybe not to the end of this decade (watch also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/usa-gone-2028.htm\">Might the U.S.A.
