COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n UK’s Guardian<\/em> reported the following:<\/p>\n January 12, 2023<\/p>\n Support for leaving the EU has dropped significantly, and sometimes dramatically, in member states across the bloc in the wake of the UK\u2019s Brexit referendum, according to data from a major pan-European survey.<\/p>\n The European Social Survey (ESS)<\/a>, led by City, University of London and conducted in 30 European nations every two years since 2001, found respondents were less likely to vote leave in every EU member state for which data was available.<\/p>\n The largest decline in leave support was in Finland, where 28.6% of respondents who declared which way they would vote in a Brexit-style referendum answered leave in 2016-2017, but only 15.4% did in 2020-2022 \u2013 a fall of 13.2 percentage points.<\/p>\n Similarly stark declines between 2016 and 2022 were recorded in the Netherlands (a drop of 9.5 percentage points), Portugal (9.1), Austria (8.5) and France (8.3), with smaller but still statistically significant falls in Hungary (5.8), Spain and Sweden (4.6), and Germany (2.6).<\/p>\n Support for leave in the survey\u2019s most recent round was highest in the Czech Republic (29.2%), Italy (20.1%) and Sweden (19.3%), but even in those countries it had declined by 4.5 percentage points, 9.1 points and 4.6 points respectively since 2026-2017, the survey showed. Leave was least popular in Spain (4.7%). https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2023\/jan\/12\/support-for-leaving-eu-has-fallen-significantly-across-bloc-since-brexit<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n There are likely to worldly reasons for this.<\/p>\n The first is that Russia’s ‘special military operation’ into Ukraine and the devastation Ukraine has faced has persuaded more in Europe that they are better off united and not separate–Ukraine was not, and is not, a member of the European Union.<\/p>\n The second reason is that the United Kingdom is not obviously financially better because of Brexit. It has some areas that seem to be, but more that seem not to be. While COVID and other forces are factors there, the reality is that the UK has not done so well that most in Europe want to follow its example and leave.<\/p>\n Although there are movements for Italy and France to leave the EU, here is something I posted here in 2021;<\/p>\n So, will Italy or France depart from Europe?<\/p>\n No.<\/p>\n Even if they temporarily were to leave the EU, they would come back.<\/p>\n The Bible predicted that there would be problems with unity in Europe:<\/p>\n 41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter\u2019s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)<\/p>\n What about Italy and France?<\/p>\n The ancient Roman Empire was Italy-based. The old ‘Holy Roman Empire’ was France-based and included northern Italy. The final European Beast power will include France and Italy. Revelation 17 specifically includes the “great city” or “seven mountains,” which is Rome.<\/p>\n Whether or not the EU itself breaks-up, the Bible shows that Europe will reorganize and will essentially lose democracy:<\/p>\n 12 \u201cThe ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. At least some of Reuben will resist (see Revelation 7:1-5).<\/p>\n Ezekiel 5 shows that after the USA and probably its Anglo-Saxon descended allies are eliminated, problems will spread to “all the house of Israel”:<\/p>\n 1 “And you, son of man, take a sharp sword, take it as a barber’s razor, and pass it over your head and your beard; then take scales to weigh and divide the hair. 2 You shall burn with fire one-third in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are finished; then you shall take one-third and strike around it with the sword, and one-third you shall scatter in the wind: I will draw out a sword after them. 3 You shall also take a small number of them and bind them in the edge of your garment. 4 Then take some of them again and throw them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire. From there a fire will go out into all the house of Israel. (Ezekiel 5:1-4)<\/p>\n Notice that after 1\/3 is destroyed by fire (perhaps a reference to nuclear or other weapons of mass destruction), a third struck by other weapons, and one-third will be scattered, then there is other fire and after all of that, “fire will go out into all the house of Israel.” That includes France.<\/p>\n Some of wondered if Israelitish-descended nations such as France could be part of the final Beast power. History shows us that France was part of old Roman Empire and parts of it were part of the so-called ‘Holy Roman Empire.’<\/p>\n The fact that at least part of France was part of the beasts in Daniel 2:40-43 and 7:2-8, should show all that it, for a time, can be part of the final Beast power. But they will ultimately be hurt by it.<\/p>\n Here are some verses from Daniel 7:<\/p>\n The \u201cGreat Sea\u201d (Daniel 7:2) that bordered the ancient lands of Israel (Numbers 34:6-7; Joshua 1:4; 9:1; 23:4; Ezekiel 47:13-16) is the Mediterranean Sea–and that is the sea that Daniel was referring to. The ancient ROMAN Empire controlled the Mediterranean Sea. Eventually, the final European Beast power will control both the north and south (Daniel 11:40-43) as well. Despite some false claims by some, the Beast power is not a nation like Russia, which does not border the Mediterranean Sea, but Europe which does (Russia, however, will be a factor in eliminating the European beast power, see also The Eurasian Union, the Kings of the East, and Bible Prophecy<\/a>). A comparison of the beasts in Revelation 13 and Daniel 7 shows that they share many of the same characteristics (for some details, you may wish to watch the YouTube video Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?<\/a>).<\/p>\n Anyway, the fourth beast of Daniel 7:7 begins as the old Roman Empire, which then had many ‘revivals.’ Here is more from the Book of Daniel:<\/p>\n Thus, there was prophesied to be ‘ten kings’ as revived heads of the Roman empire. And the last different than the rest.<\/p>\n Well, the rest included the ancient Roman empire as well as what has been called by historians as the ‘Holy Roman Empire.’ (Thiel B. Frexit or Italexit? \u2018EU Officials Unnerved by Strength of Italy\u2019s Radical Right\u2019<\/a>.COGwriter, June 3, 2021)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Notice something from the old Worldwide Church of God:<\/p>\n Throughout the Middle Ages, leaders considered the Church at Rome to be God’s chosen instrument in spiritual matters. The Holy Roman Empire was regarded as God’s chosen political organization over Western Christendom. Pope and Emperor were regarded as God’s vice-regents on earth. This intimate alliance of Church and State served the needs of both institutions. The Empire exercised its political and military powers to defend religion and enforce internal submission through religious uniformity. The Church, in turn, acted as a glue for Europe, holding together the differing nationalities by the tie of common religion.<\/p>\n This ideal in Church-State relations was never completely realized, as we have seen in the frequent conflicts between Emperors and Popes … numerous revivals of the Roman Empire have arisen in Europe in the centuries since the fall of ancient Rome.<\/p>\n In Revelation 17, these revivals are represented by the seven heads of a wild animal. Six have already occurred, from Justinian to Mussolini. One last restoration of this great political system is yet to arise. This confederated Europe will be an immense political, military and economic power \u2014 a great Third Force in world affairs, a superpower in its own right. Prophecy further reveals that this powerful church-state union will be composed of “ten horns” \u2014 meaning 10 nations or groups of nations (Rev. l7:3) \u2014 under the overall leadership of a single political figure (verse 13). Europe will again have a single political head of state!<\/p>\n Moreover, prophecy foretells that a religious figure of unprecedented power and authority will sit astride the “empire,” directing it as a rider guides a horse (Rev. 17:3). To counter the ongoing spread of atheism, secularism and consumerism, the Vatican \u2014 as in centuries past \u2014 will be forced to become a major power in the international arena. The political muscle of the Papacy will be reinvigorated. (Stump K. The History of Europe and the Church. Ambassador College Publications, 1984)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n As far as popes go, Pope Francis does have a plan for a Roman Empire and it includes Europe.<\/p>\n Pope Francis was given the 2016 ‘Charlemagne Prize’ (Pope Francis wins the \u2018Charlemagne Prize\u2019<\/a>)–a prize given to the one who is recognized for promoting the most European unity.<\/p>\n The idea of a united Europe with a type of revived ‘Holy Roman Empire’ is not just some ‘pipe dream’ or COG-only position.<\/p>\n Desmond A. Birch, a Roman Catholic writer, has made the following observations:<\/p>\n Several private prophecies of canonized Saints specifically state that there will be a latter restoration<\/em> of the Holy Roman Empire and that there will be at least one last Holy Roman Emperor. The authenticity of the authorship of such prophecies of canonized Saints (e.g., St. Hildegard, St. Vincent Ferrer, St. Francis of Paula, and St. John Vianney) at least over the last eight hundred years is scholastically unquestionable.<\/p>\n The Great King will be crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the reigning Pope \u2026 (Birch, DA. Trial, Tribulation & Triumph: Before During and After Antichrist. Queenship Publishing Company, Goleta (CA), 1996, pp.281, 555)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Roman Catholics expect that a pope will make someone the leader of the future \u2018Holy Roman Empire.\u2019 That leader, called the Great King above, is commonly referred to as the The Great Monarch<\/a><\/span> in Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox prophecies–but he shares many characteristics with an individual the Bible warns against (for some details, watch Great Monarch: Messiah or False Christ?<\/a><\/span> and Great Monarch in 50+ Beast Prophecies<\/a>).<\/p>\n The Bible shows an alliance between a European leader and the City of Seven Hills will take place. And what is prophesied sounds like a type of revival of the old Holy Roman Empire:<\/p>\n 1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:1-4)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Now, while this could also be referring to a leader who all thought was eliminated (someone like Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg<\/a> comes to mind), various Church of God leaders have felt that this is the old ‘Holy Roman Empire’ that was considered dead but will be revived in the end.<\/p>\n This will be a politico-religious, church-state, alliance as the following show:<\/p>\n So, a political-religious alliance will happen and people will be forced to at least feign some type of false religion.<\/p>\n Notice more about it:<\/p>\n So, there is an alliance prophesied to form between European and other leaders with a power that is in the city of seven hills (i.e. the city of Rome, this is even according to Roman Catholic commentators–see also What Do Roman Catholic Scholars Actually Teach About Early Church History?<\/a>).<\/p>\n How will it end?<\/p>\n Badly per Revelation 18.<\/p>\n In particular, and even prior to that end, the Bible shows that it will not end well for Israel (Daniel 11:31), the USA & its Anglo-Saxon allies (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a><\/span>), the Islamic countries of the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43), or even Europe (Daniel 11:44). The Bible also shows that the supporters of the Beast will turn against the Church of the City of Seven Hills (Revelation 17:16-17).<\/p>\n But despite that, many in Europe want some revival of the old ‘Holy Roman Empire,’ and some version will re-emerge–but not last (cf.
