Recent reports indicate that Iran has achieved an enrichment level of around <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/iran-politics-international-atomic-energy-agency-israel-government-benjamin-netanyahu-45b623742bb6bd4c7314de7df6c3f1e9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">84 percent<\/a>; it would need to reach only 90 percent and then would be within reach of a nuclear weapon. But, as Iran inches closer to having enough material for a weapon, it enters a period of diminishing returns.<\/p>\n<p>If the regime is using uranium enrichment to blackmail the West into some sort of concessions, it very soon will cross a point of no return, because it can only keep enriching so much material toward no end. On the other hand, if its intention is to actually build and test a nuclear weapon, it also soon will reach a point where it has to make this fundamental decision.\u00a0 &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Israel has often warned that there is a \u201cred line\u201d beyond which Iran would be endangering the region by trying to build a nuclear weapon. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>This creates a problem for the Iranian regime. As it nears the 90 percent enrichment mark, it knows that it reaches a kind of \u201cred line,\u201d where it will have enriched too much to not proceed toward making a weapon. However, if it isn\u2019t ready to \u201cweaponize\u201d the enriched uranium, it can\u2019t continue to enrich for no reason. <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/international\/3875861-irans-diminishing-returns-on-enriching-uranium\/\">https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/international\/3875861-irans-diminishing-returns-on-enriching-uranium\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text__text__1FZLe text__dark-grey__3Ml43 text__regular__2N1Xr text__large__nEccO body__full_width__ekUdw body__large_body__FV5_X article-body__element__2p5pI\" data-testid=\"paragraph-0\">WASHINGTON, Feb 28 (Reuters) &#8211; Iran could make enough fissile for one nuclear bomb in &#8220;about 12 days,&#8221; a top U.S. Defense Department official said on Tuesday, down from the estimated one year it would have taken while the 2015 Iran nuclear deal was in effect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text__text__1FZLe text__dark-grey__3Ml43 text__regular__2N1Xr text__large__nEccO body__full_width__ekUdw body__large_body__FV5_X article-body__element__2p5pI\" data-testid=\"paragraph-1\">Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl made the comment to a House of Representatives hearing when pressed by a Republican lawmaker why the Biden administration had sought to revive the deal, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text__text__1FZLe text__dark-grey__3Ml43 text__regular__2N1Xr text__large__nEccO body__full_width__ekUdw body__large_body__FV5_X article-body__element__2p5pI\" data-testid=\"paragraph-2\">&#8220;Because Iran&#8217;s nuclear progress since we left the JCPOA has been remarkable. Back in 2018, when the previous administration decided to leave the JCPOA it would have taken Iran about 12 months to produce one bomb&#8217;s worth of fissile material. I can tell you that I will do everything in my power to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.\u201d &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>By the end of 2023, Iran will have enough uranium enriched to 60% to produce 10 bombs, according to a senior Israeli official and a former senior US official. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The S-400s, which can hit aerial targets at a range of up to 250 kilometers (150 miles), would create a \u201cred zone for high-altitude aircraft,\u201d said Jeremy Binnie, Middle East defense expert at Janes, the UK-based defense intelligence firm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cThe more air defenses they have, the more difficult it is to hit them,\u201d said Yossi Kuperwasser, a former top Israeli military intelligence official and now a senior researcher at the Israel Defense and Security Forum, an association of former and reserve members of the security forces. \u201cWe are analyzing when is the most convenient time to take action.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-03-02\/israel-rethinks-iran-strike-scenarios-on-nuclear-program-because-of-russia-s-400?leadSource=uverify%20wall\">https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-03-02\/israel-rethinks-iran-strike-scenarios-on-nuclear-program-because-of-russia-s-400?leadSource=uverify%20wall<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So, yes, the Israelis want to take military action against Iran.<\/p>\n<p>As far as a &#8220;convenient time&#8221; goes, we may see that very soon.<\/p>\n<p>Yet if Israel attacks, an Iranian response will come.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">The Bible shows that God will allow what looks to be a Iranian-Syrian confederation to strike the nation of Israel&#8211;whether in response to an attack, or pre-emptively, is not stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"style4\">1 The burden against the Valley of Vision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops, 2 You who are full of noise, A tumultuous city, a joyous city? You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9 <strong>You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great<\/strong>; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool. 10 You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, And the houses you broke down To fortify the wall. 11 You also made a reservoir between the two walls For the water of the old pool. But you did not look to its Maker, Nor did you have respect for Him who fashioned it long ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">12 And in that day the Lord God of hosts Called for weeping and for mourning, For baldness and for girding with sackcloth. 13 But instead, joy and gladness, Slaying oxen and killing sheep, Eating meat and drinking wine: \u201cLet us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">14 Then it was revealed in my hearing by the Lord of hosts,\u201dSurely for this iniquity there will be no atonement for you, Even to your death,\u201d says the Lord God of hosts. (Isaiah 22:1-14 NKJV)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"style4\">Elam is a reference to at least some in Iran. The old Worldwide Church of God published the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"style4\">Iranians comprise nearly 70 percent of the country. Iranians, though Islamic, are totally distinct from the neighboring Arab peoples of the Middle East. They are a mixed people of the remnants of Media and Elam and other ancestors of Semitic and Hamitic stock. (Stump K. South Asia in Prophecy. Plain Truth, July\/August 1986, p. 5)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"style4\">The Bible tells that after Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took over Damascus, he moved Syrians to Kir (2 Kings 16:9-10). God&#8217;s word has the expression &#8220;the Syrians from Kir&#8221; (Amos 9:7), which is basically confirmation that Kir of Isaiah 22 would include Syrians. The Bible also tells of a time when Kir will be destroyed (Isaiah 15:1b) and also says that Syria&#8217;s capital Damascus will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1).While this does not mean that Kir must (or must only) be a reference to Syria, the fact that Syria is an ally of Iran is interesting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">In Isaiah 22: 8, \u201cJudah\u201d is a reference to those in the land commonly called Israel\u2013God will allow Israel to be attacked! In Isaiah 22:9, consider that \u201cthe damage to the city of David\u201d is a reference to at least part of Jerusalem\u2013and notice that the damage will be great.
