COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Notice the following from Ecumenical News<\/em> and the World Council of Churches News<\/em> related to the Evangelical Church of Germany:<\/p>\n The guidance put out by the EKD as the main Protestant denomination in Germany is known is based on the insights of the Ten Commandments in the Bible, one of the world’s best known set of guiding principles.<\/p>\n The publication \u2013 Digital Freedom: The Ten Commandments in Times of Digital Change \u2013 is structured around 10 sections.<\/p>\n Each takes one of the Ten Commandments, exploring its insights for understanding the opportunities and dangers of digital technologies. …<\/p>\n The Ten Commandments in Times of Digital Change:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. Protect and live out freedom as God’s creatures in the digital realm.<\/p>\n I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Ex. 20: 2-3)<\/p>\n 2. Understand how the worlds of digital images shape identity and solidarity.<\/p>\n Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing . . . (Ex. 20: 4)<\/p>\n 3. Be aware of the options for religious communication in the digital world.<\/p>\n Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain . . . (Ex. 20: 7)<\/p>\n 4. Give (digital) life a wholesome rhythm.<\/p>\n Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. (Ex. 20:8)<\/p>\n 5. Make inter-generational relations more equitable digitally.<\/p>\n Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. (Ex. 20: 12)<\/p>\n 6. Stop digitalized violence.<\/p>\n Thou shalt not kill. (Ex. 20: 13)<\/p>\n 7. Give space for freedom and respect in intimate relationships in the digital sphere.<\/p>\n Thou shalt not commit adultery. (Ex. 20: 14)<\/p>\n 8. Encourage just participation in the digital economy.<\/p>\n Thou shalt not steal. (Ex. 20: 15)<\/p>\n 9. Promote truthfulness in the digital world.<\/p>\n Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. (Ex. 20: 16)<\/p>\n 10. Beware of covetousness in digital space.<\/p>\n Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor’s. It is one of the co-organizers of an international symposium on \u201cCommunication for Social Justice in the Digital Age\u201d in September, being jointly hosted by the World Council of Churches and the World Association for Christian Communication (WACC). 04\/22\/21 https:\/\/um-insight.net\/in-the-world\/advocating-justice\/german-protestant-church-publishes-10-commandments-for-the-d\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n The above digital list is a mixture of good (the 10th commandment is basically right above) and evil, mostly evil.<\/p>\n It misses the point of the Ten Commandments.<\/p>\n The Apostle Paul wrote:<\/p>\n 5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love (1 Timothy 1:5).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n It is NOT love to falsify the Ten Commandments, to encourage people to condone sin–which is what the re-written 7th command above, for one example, does.<\/p>\n The EKD is basically making a mockery of the Ten Commandments.<\/p>\n In 2022, the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development revealed its \u2018Ten Commandments\u2019:<\/p>\n November 13, 2022<\/p>\n Among the faith leaders expected to participate are Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople (Istanbul), Swami Chidanand Saraswati from India, Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf from the US, and Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg from London.<\/p>\n Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who is also known as the Green Patriarch due to his dedication to environmental issues, released a statement ahead of the event decrying the \u201cabuse of nature and the exploitation of its resources\u201d as a \u201csin against God the Creator and the gift of creation.\u201d \u2026<\/p>\n The \u201cTen Principles for Climate Repentance\u201d cited by the organizers are:<\/p>\n https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/multifaith-leaders-to-gather-in-israel-and-around-the-world-for-climate-repentance\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Originally, this group wanted to hold its \u2018Climate Repentance Ceremony\u2019 on Mt. Sinai and then bring down its \u2018Ten Commandments,\u2019 making a mockery of what the Bible shows in the Book of Exodus\u2013but the Egyptian government refused to allow that, citing security concerns.<\/p>\n Now the above \u2018Ten Commandments\u2019 are certainly not the biblical ones. And here is another list Newsweek<\/em> put out this past summer by Yosef I. Abramowitz<\/span> who is part of the group sponsoring the climate repentance ceremony:<\/p>\n August 25, 2022<\/p>\n A group of us, under the auspices of the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development and the Elijah Interfaith Institute, recently came together at Mount Sinai to envision what message of hope and transformation religions can offer to humanity as we grapple with the challenges of climate justice. One of the ideas was returning to the 10 commandments, given at Sinai. While not set in stone, here\u2019s my version (with a little bit of help from my friends):<\/p>\n Acknowledge a Higher Power<\/strong><\/p>\n Like in Alcoholics Anonymous, the first commandment is to acknowledge, with humility, that we are partners with and subservient to the Creator.<\/p>\n Vote Climate<\/strong> \u2026<\/p>\n Do Not Murder<\/strong><\/p>\n Since we know that millions of people\u2014usually the poorest and indigenous\u2014will die and suffer from the effects of extreme heat and cold, wild-fires, rising sea levels, and super-charged storms, why doesn\u2019t the business-as-usual approach of most leaders make them accessories to murder?<\/p>\n Do Not Steal<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cClimate change is robbing our future,\u201d says Gili Berkovitz, \u2026<\/p>\n Do Not Bear False Witness<\/strong><\/p>\n There are sins of omission\u2014politicians not telling the truth about the real and immediate dangers of climate change; and there are sins of commission\u2014the same leaders at the annual world climate conference, COP 27, who are approving new drilling and pipeline licenses. \u2026<\/p>\n Keep the Sabbath<\/strong><\/p>\n Emissions are down 30 percent over the sabbath every week in Israel and are almost zeroed out on Yom Kippur (the Jewish Day of Atonement, the holiest of the year). A global weekly non-carbon day of rest could reduce emissions of the world by a seventh, and can be observed by different faith communities on different days.<\/p>\n You Shall Innovate<\/strong> \u2026<\/p>\n Technology can accelerate decarbonization; collaboration can accelerate implementation.<\/p>\n Honor Mother Earth<\/strong><\/p>\n Kristina Greer, 15, from California says that climate change is a form of arson against the very home that nurtures our lives and that of all living creatures.<\/p>\n You <\/strong>Need N<\/strong>ot <\/strong>C<\/strong>ovet<\/strong> \u2026<\/p>\n Do Not Continue to be Hoodwinked<\/strong><\/p>\n Oil and gas companies and disingenuous leaders want you to believe that reducing your carbon footprint through individual action is the key. Yet Alan Divack teaches we must not place the burden of solving climate change on individual action. https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/our-sin-emissions-101-climate-commandments-opinion-1736640<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n The above list is a mixture of evil and some good. It is, thus, a false and blasphemous list.<\/p>\n We put out a video related to the Interfaith climate people and the commandments:<\/p>\n On November 13, 2022, the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development had a ceremony in Egypt where they laid out \u2018Ten Principles for Climate Repentance.\u2019 Then two tablets were tossed down and broken in the traditional area that Moses broke the tablets of the Ten Commandments at the base of Mt. Sinai. The \u2018breaker\u2019 had also given Newsweek a set of climate \u2018Ten Commandments\u2019 in August of 2022. Furthermore, in the Spring of 2022, Ecumenical News and the World Council of Churches reported about a set of digital \u2018Ten Commandments,\u2019 which, while a mixture of good and evil, condoned sin. Are these actions helping to set the stage for the Beast who will change times and law (Daniel <\/span>7:25<\/a>)? Will the coming Beast and Antichrist promote the breaking God\u2019s Ten Commandments? Are the ecumenical and interfaith movements moving in that direction? Would actually keeping God\u2019s Ten Commandments solve weather matters that are blamed on \u2018climate change\u2019? Steve Dupuie and Dr. Thiel address these matters.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n Here is a link to our video: Interfaith Beast Commandments?<\/a><\/p>\n God\u2019s Ten Commandments did not change\u2013do not go along with those who think they have better ones for this world.<\/p>\n The prophetic reality is that the coming German Beast that the Bible warns about will break and\/or encourage others to break all of God’s Ten Commandments.<\/p>\n Here is a some information from our free online book The Ten Commandments: The Decalogue, Christianity, and the Beast<\/a> related to that:<\/p>\n The Beast Power Pushes Commandment Breaking<\/strong><\/p>\n The man of sin will promote sin. He is involved with the ‘mystery of lawlessness’ also called the ‘mystery of iniquity’ because he will feign being religious and moral. People who have not accepted the true faith, will follow him. He will not tolerate those who actually keep God\u2019s Ten Commandments.<\/p>\n The Bible provides support that the Beast power will violate each one of the ten commandments. This power will put himself above all gods.<\/p>\n As far as the first commandment, notice the following:<\/p>\n 36<\/sup> \u201cThen the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 37<\/sup> He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. (Daniel 11:36-37)<\/p>\n The king above is the King of the North, who is called the Beast \u201cof the sea\u201d in Revelation 13:1 and the \u201cfirst beast\u201d in Revelation 13:12.<\/p>\n The Antichrist is the second \u201cbeast,\u201d and is the beast \u201cof the earth\u201d (Revelation 13:11). The final Antichrist will be supporting the first Beast, and will try to force people against keeping the first commandment:<\/p>\n 12<\/sup> And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. (Revelation 13:12)<\/p>\n As far as the second commandment goes, notice the following the beast will do:<\/p>\n 38<\/sup> But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. (Daniel 11:38)<\/p>\n The Antichrist will try to force people against keeping the second commandment:<\/p>\n 14<\/sup> And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15<\/sup> He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. (Revelation 13:14-15)<\/p>\n Idolatry definitely is a mark of the beast (and the Beast power may use symbols, like crosses, that many will consider acceptable).<\/p>\n As far as the third commandment goes, notice the following:<\/p>\n 25<\/sup> He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, (Daniel 7:25)<\/p>\n 36<\/sup> \u201cThen the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, (Daniel 11:36)<\/p>\n 5<\/sup> And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6<\/sup> Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. (Revelation 13:5-6)<\/p>\n As far as the fourth commandment goes, notice the following about the beast and the Antichrist:<\/p>\n 25<\/sup> He \u2026 shall intend to change times and law. (Daniel 7:25)<\/p>\n 16<\/sup> He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17<\/sup> and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Revelation 13:16-17)<\/p>\n 11<\/sup> \u2026 they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. (Revelation 14:11)<\/p>\n Perhaps the Beast will modify the calendar and change the days of the week somehow. Various Sabbath-keepers have felt that Sunday-keeping was the \u2018mark of the beast.\u2019 Christians will enter God\u2019s rest (Hebrews 4:9-11), the Beast\u2019s followers will not.<\/p>\n The \u2018mark of the beast\u2019 involves commandment breaking.<\/p>\n As far as the fifth commandment goes, notice the following:<\/p>\n 37<\/sup> He shall regard neither the God of his fathers . . . for he shall exalt himself above them all. (Daniel 11:37).<\/p>\n The context of this implies dishonoring his parents, though that is not fully explicit. Consider also that the beast will betray his harlot spiritual mother\u2014and not be repentant:<\/p>\n 16<\/sup> And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17<\/sup> For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 18<\/sup> And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth. (Revelation 17:16-18)<\/p>\n It should be pointed out that since we are to hallow the name of the Father (Matthew 6:9) and the Beast clearly blasphemes Him (Daniel 11:36), the Beast is promoting the violation of the fifth commandment.<\/p>\n As far as the sixth commandment goes, the beast will kill as a persecuting military leader (see also Daniel 7:25):<\/p>\n 4<\/sup> So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, \u201cWho is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?\u201d (Revelation 13:4)<\/p>\n 7<\/sup> It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. (Revelation 13:7)<\/p>\n The Beast will also cause others to be killed:<\/p>\n 15 <\/sup>\u2026 the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. (Revelation 13:15)<\/p>\n 32<\/sup> Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. 33<\/sup> And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. (Daniel 11:32-33)<\/p>\n As far as the seventh commandment goes, the beast will be among those that commit fornication with Mystery Babylon the Great:<\/p>\n 1<\/sup> \u2026\u201dCome, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2<\/sup> with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.\u201d<\/p>\n 3<\/sup> So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4<\/sup> The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. 5 <\/sup>And on her forehead a name was written:<\/p>\n MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. (Revelation 17:1-5)<\/p>\n The Beast will participate in and promote spiritual adultery (cf. James 4:4; Ezekiel 23:37).<\/p>\n As far as the eighth commandment goes, the beast will takeover other countries and take what they have:<\/p>\n 39<\/sup> Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.<\/p>\n 40<\/sup> \u201cAt the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through . . . 43<\/sup> He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. (Daniel 11:39-40, 43)<\/p>\n The Beast will take land and precious items.<\/p>\n As far as the ninth commandment goes, the beast will cause deceit to prosper:<\/p>\n 25<\/sup> \u201cThrough his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; (Daniel 8:25)<\/p>\n 23<\/sup> And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. (Daniel 11:23)<\/p>\n People who do not have proper \u201clove of the truth\u201d will believe the lie (2 Thessalonians 2:12). A lie encouraged by \u2018miracles\u2019 (2 Thessalonians 2:8-11; Revelation 13:11-15), economic blackmail (Revelation 13:16-18), and persecution (Daniel 11:31-35; Revelation 13:7).<\/p>\n As far as the tenth commandment goes, notice the following:<\/p>\n 25<\/sup> \u2026 He shall even rise against the Prince of princes; But he shall be broken without human means. (Daniel 8:25)<\/p>\n 24<\/sup> He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches; and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time. (Daniel 11:24)<\/p>\n The Beast is covetous of power and possessions and will devise plans to take what is not his. He even wants God\u2019s power.<\/p>\n The Beast will violate all of God\u2019s Ten Commandments and expect his followers to do so as well.<\/p>\n Scripture refers to the violation of each of the Ten Commandments as sin. e.g.: 1st<\/sup> 1 Samuel 15:24-25; 2nd<\/sup> Exodus 32:22-30; 3rd<\/sup> Job 2:9-10 (cf. Psalm 39:1); 4th<\/sup> Nehemiah 9:14, 28-29; 5th<\/sup> Luke 15:18 (NIV; cf. 1 Samuel 24:11); 6th<\/sup> Genesis 4:7; 7th<\/sup> Genesis 39:9; 8th<\/sup> Matthew 5:30 (cf.
