Germany: Far-right AfD expands political influence<\/h2>\n

Sunday’s election result<\/a>\u00a0in a small district in east Germany’s Thuringia region has triggered a political earthquake and a deluge of media and social media comments.<\/p>\n

The Sonneberg election marked the first time a candidate from the far-right populist\u00a0Alternative for Germany (AfD)<\/a>\u00a0was elected to head a government \u2014 albeit that of a small district of only 57,000 inhabitants.<\/p>\n

A district administrator does not have much clout, but jubilant AfD leaders are hoping the victory will herald far greater political success. According to the\u00a0latest opinion polls<\/a>, the AfD has realistic chances of becoming the strongest political force in three eastern German states in regional elections set for 2024. …<\/p>\n

And, voters in Thuringia seem undeterred by the fact that several party figureheads have made positive references to fascism and the National Socialist regime under\u00a0Adolf Hitler.<\/a>\u00a0Party co-leader Tino Chrupalla is confident that the recent election success is “just the beginning!”<\/p>\n

The AfD seems to be scoring points among voters on two political stances in particular: Opposing\u00a0immigration<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0climate protection<\/a>. For years, stirring up sentiment against refugees, immigrants and Muslims has been at the center of the AfD’s political campaign.<\/p>\n

“The AfD’s basic narrative has always been that there is a threat to German culture. For a long time, this came from the outside, through migrants,” political analyst Johannes Hillje told the\u00a0taz<\/em> newspaper. “Now the narrative is that this threat is also coming from within, through the transformation of society to climate neutrality \u2014 a central project of the center-left coalition in Berlin and the Green Party.” …<\/p>\n

AfD seen as ‘threat to democracy’<\/h2>\n

Although the AfD is still a small minority party, it reminds many people of Adolf Hitler\u2019s party.<\/p>\n

Somewhat to address those type of concerns, in 2018 AfD founding member Alexander Gauland said, \u201cHitler and the Nazis were no more than a speck of bird\u2019s {dung} in over 1,000 years of successful history\u201d (see https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/germanys-far-right-afd-marks-10-years-since-its-founding\/a-64607308<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Consider that Adolf Hitler\u2019s Nazi Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei<\/i>; NSDAP) rose from obscurity to win 18.3 percent of the vote and 107 parliamentary seats in the 1930 election when Germany had major economic problems. The main party in Germany at the time did not see it as a real threat and eventually made a deal with it. Then, everything in Germany changed and soon Adolf Hitler led the country.<\/p>\n

Will a change come again to Germany?<\/p>\n

Yes.<\/p>\n

The reality is many in Germany are upset about energy, economic, and immigration matters and essentially not being able to boldly talk about it. More and more want a strong leader.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that a militaristic totalitarian leader called the Beast will arise and become militarily successful (Revelation 13:1-4). Germans will be comfortable, for a time, with such a militarily, successful leader.<\/p>\n

Democracy will again be eliminated in the coming German-dominated Europe. A strong man will be in power.<\/p>\n

Notice some items from the old Radio\/Worldwide Church of God that were published decades ago (bolding<\/strong>\u00a0mine) regarding German\u2019s future:<\/p>\n

The prophecy of Daniel 11 \u2026 This is an important \u201cend-time\u201d prophecy. Following the chronological progression of the chapter, it becomes apparent that the phrase \u201cking of the north\u201d had at first referred to Syria under the Seleucid dynasty, and later, in the New Testament times, to the Emperor of the Roman Empire. \u2026 Thus,\u00a0in its final end-time application, the \u201cking of the north\u201d is the prophesied strong man who will lead a coming<\/strong>\u00a0union of ten European nations \u2014 the seventh and\u00a0final revival of the ancient Roman Empire<\/strong>\u00a0prophesied by Daniel and in the book of Revelation (see Revelation 17:12-13).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Finally feeling the chilling embrace of Moscow, the German people may yet call for the Bavarian strongman \u2014 the one they feared in good times \u2014 to rescue them from their impending doom. (Hogberg G. WHERE Is WEST GERMANY Headed? Plain Truth, December 1980).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A Bavarian strongman would be someone from Bavaria, which is in southern Germany (the southern border of Bavaria runs to the northern border of Austria). The strongman that Gene Hogberg had in mind back in 1980 (Franz Joseph Strauss) died. Yet, let me add that there is another Bavarian strongman who I have kept my eye on who may one day rise up. His name is Karl-Theodor zu-Guttenberg (see\u00a0Might German Baron Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg become the King of the North?<\/a>). A reader sent me a link a while back to a presentation that Herr Guttenberg gave in May of 2016 where he called for more passionate leaders in Europe. One such leader will arise.<\/p>\n

When the time comes for the final Beast leader to arise, he will most likely be at least partially German, as all the leaders of the old Holy Roman Empire were as well.<\/p>\n

Notice something reported here back in 2019:<\/p>\n

AfD has often been portrayed as intolerant of various races and religions.<\/p>\n

But it continues to make gains in Germany, particularly in much of the east. …<\/p>\n

Germans and other Europeans will get sufficiently frustrated with democracy (as well as will be deceived by various signs and lying wonders\u20132 Thessalonians 2:8-12) that they will support a dictatorial leader over Europe.<\/p>\n

And yes, now we see more concerns that some in Germany are less supportive of democracy. World events continue to align with properly understood biblical prophecies.<\/p>\n

European Unity to be like Hitler?<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Boris Johnson, the former Mayor of London, stated that the European Union wanted to be what Adolf Hitler and Napoleon Bonaparte tried to create. Duncan Smith agreed. But European Council President Donald Tusk called Johnson\u2019s comments absurd and then stated that the EU was the answer to the problems facing Europe. But what does the Bible teach about the future of Europe? Is European unity the answer or will it usher in something worse than Adolph Hitler? Dr. Thiel quotes Jesus and others in the Bible for those who truly want to know what will happen in a unified Europe.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There were unity problems in Germany, but many appeared to be gone with Adolf Hitler in charge. The AfD seems to have similar goals.<\/p>\n

The Bible, itself, teaches that there will be unity problems in Europe:<\/p>\n

41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter\u2019s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It will take a strong leader to make Europe\u2019s coming, temporary, unity stronger.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that the\u00a0European beast<\/a>\u00a0leader, also called the\u00a0King of the North<\/a>, will arise promising peace.<\/p>\n

21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. (Daniel 11:21-23, NKJV)<\/p>\n

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and\u00a0he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many<\/strong>: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Daniel 8:25, KJV).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Bible specifically shows that a reorganization will come to Europe and power will be given to that dictator:<\/p>\n

12 \u201cThe ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Revelation 17:13 is clearly talking about a dictator\u2013one the Bible calls the beast.<\/p>\n

The Bible also shows that religion will be used by the King of the North:<\/p>\n

36 \u201cThen the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. 39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.\u00a0 (Daniel 11:36-39)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The AfD has pushed religion:<\/p>\n

A motion presented by far-right party Alternative f\u00fcr Deutschland (AfD) to establish an International Day against the Persecution of Christians was struck down by the German parliament, with the other parties in the assembly criticizing the proposal as propaganda. \u2026<\/p>\n

The proposal called for German federal government to promote on the international stage the battle against \u201cChristianophobia\u201d and the importance of Christianity in Germany and in Western world as whole. AfD also proposed February 15th<\/sup> as the possible date for the remembrance day. On that date in 2015 militants of ISIS released a video showing the decapitation of 21 Coptic Christians in Libya. ,,,<\/p>\n

The AfD has a hard anti-immigration stance and for its ties with far-right movements it is ostracized by other parties. Ruling party SPD called the proposal a \u201chate\u201d one, with junior coalition partners from the Green Party agreeing, adding that the move was propaganda to make AfD \u201cdefenders of Christianity\u201d.\u00a0https:\/\/www.europeaninterest.eu\/article\/afds-proposal-on-christian-persecution-receives-no-support-in-german-parliament\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It remains my view that the King of the North Beast will feign adherence to a changed version of Roman Catholicism. That is something that many in the AfD will accept.<\/p>\n

The King of the North Beast will also push out Islam (cf. Daniel 11:40-43) and lead a powerful European military (cf. Revelation 13:3-4; Daniel 11:39-43). These are things that many in the AfD want!<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that the\u00a0European beast<\/a>\u00a0leader, also called the\u00a0King of the North<\/a>, will arise promising peace:<\/p>\n

While the AfD has its own problems, its rise is demonstrating that Germans are becoming less tolerant of democracy than many thought.<\/p>\n

AfD: Prelude to a Hitler Beast?<\/a><\/h3>\n

Germany\u2019s Alternative f\u00fcr Deutshland (Alternative for Germany in English) party celebrated its 10th anniversary on February 6, 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

It objects to:

\n\u274cMore asylum abuse
\n\u274cMore crime
\n\u274cMore housing shortage
\n\u274cMore Cancel Culture<\/span><\/p>\n

The AfD also asserts, \u201cNow it\u2019s time to change that. And that\u2019s only possible with us.\u201d Many are concerned that the AfD\u2019s growing political influence will impact Germany. Can a strong man worse than Adolf Hitler, that the Bible calls the Beast rise up from Germany? Could Europe reorganize with a small backing to put this leader into place? Does the AfD want to make a deal with Russia? Will Germany make a future deal with Russia that would be opposed to the USA? Does the AfD want religion involved to meet its objectives in such a way that it could support the coming King of the North Beast power that the Bible warns will arise in Europe?
