For example, welfare payment; for example, consumption coupons; for example, food stamps.\u201d [Emphasis added]<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy programming CBDC, those money can be precisely targeted for what kind of people can own and what kind of use this money can be utilized,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>So, while Lagarde says that central banks have no interest in programming CBDCs, central banks around the world are indeed exploring programmability, even if the central banks themselves are not the ones doing the actual programming. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Programmability is a key feature of CBDC, where governments, banks, and their customers could have total control over when, where, and how your money is spent. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/analysis\/wef-elites-admit-potential-for-darker-world-where-cbdcs-could-be-govt-controlled\/?utm_source=top_news&amp;utm_campaign=usa\">https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/analysis\/wef-elites-admit-potential-for-darker-world-where-cbdcs-could-be-govt-controlled\/?utm_source=top_news&amp;utm_campaign=usa<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While there are some pluses with a digital currency, biblically we know that the darker side, the controlling of buying and selling, is coming.<\/p>\n<p>Supposedly to prevent this,\u00a0European leaders interested in a digital euro have proposed some safeguard:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"Component-heading-0-2-43\">EU Publishes Digital Euro Bill Featuring Privacy Controls, Offline Guarantee<\/h2>\n<p>June 28, 2023<\/p>\n<p>BRUSSELS, Belgium \u2013 The European Commission\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/ip_23_3501\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published its legislative plans<\/a> to underpin a digital euro on Wednesday, saying it would ensure Europeans can pay digitally for free across the currency zone. &#8230;<\/p>\n<div class=\"common-textstyles__StyledWrapper-sc-18pd49k-0 eSbCkN\">\n<div class=\"typography__StyledTypography-owin6q-0 bYmaON at-text\">\n<p>\u201cThe euro is the most tangible symbol of European integration,\u201d said ECB President Christine Lagarde in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecb.europa.eu\/\/press\/pr\/date\/2023\/html\/ecb.pr230628~e76738d851.en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement to the press<\/a>. &#8220;We look forward to continuing working together with other EU institutions towards a digital euro to ensure our currency is fit for the digital age.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"common-textstyles__StyledWrapper-sc-18pd49k-0 eSbCkN\">\n<div class=\"typography__StyledTypography-owin6q-0 bYmaON at-text\">\n<p>The legal proposals seek to ensure the digital euro can be used offline, offering a level of privacy equivalent to that of cash. It forbids the CBDC from being \u201cprogrammed\u201d to limit the goods it can be used to buy, though officials say it could still be used to underpin conditional payments, such as a monthly payment for a utilities bill, or a more complex smart contract. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2023\/06\/28\/eu-publishes-digital-euro-bill-featuring-privacy-controls-offline-guarantee\/\">https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2023\/06\/28\/eu-publishes-digital-euro-bill-featuring-privacy-controls-offline-guarantee\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>June 28, 2023<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-1nhbny4-0 gVsmvl body-paragraph paywall\">The European Central Bank is due in October to decide whether to push ahead with a digital euro. The rules proposed on Wednesday would make it legal tender, meaning it would have to be accepted as a form of payment. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/business\/2023\/06\/28\/eu-gives-legal-backing-to-digital-euro\/\">https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/business\/2023\/06\/28\/eu-gives-legal-backing-to-digital-euro\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Notice something else from the ECB this past Summer:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"ArticleFull_title__MEgbb\">ECB Says Cash \u201cNot Fit\u201d For Digital Economy, Dismisses CBDC Privacy Concerns<\/h2>\n<p>August 24, 2022<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the digital economy, cash is no longer a useful tool, and a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-central-bank-digital-currency\">central bank digital currency<\/a>\u00a0(CBDC) is the \u201conly solution\u201d to continue the existing monetary system,\u00a0<\/strong>according to a new paper from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-european-central-bank\">European Central Bank<\/a>\u00a0(ECB).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>The eurozone\u2019s central bank recently published a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecb.europa.eu\/pub\/pdf\/scpwps\/ecb.wp2713~91ddff9e7c.en.pdf?79062191677f6bb6f617909e6a7a9ba8%C3%A4\">paper<\/a>\u00a0titled, \u201cThe Economics of Central Bank Digital Currency.\u201d Authors assessed the implications for the financial system and examined data privacy and digital payments.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers concluded that a CBDC, like\u00a0<strong>a digital euro, would be the \u201conly solution\u201d to facilitate a \u201csmooth continuation\u201d of the present monetary system<\/strong>. Despite widespread concerns that CBDCs would limit the credit supply and function as a disruptive force in the financial markets, the paper rejected these concerns as being unfounded.<\/p>\n<p>Digital money is critical in a digital economy, the ECB noted. Since \u201ccash is losing its appeal as efficient means of payment,\u201d a CBDC is a necessary tool to install. Although the research identified drawbacks of instituting a uniform digital monetary system, such as the sluggish pace of settlements, market developments, and adoption, the paper noted that \u201ca digital update of cash\u201d is crucial to advancing \u201cthe two-layer system of public and private money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ultimately, cash possesses \u201clarge economic costs without clear benefits,\u201d so \u201cit is by construction not \u2018fit\u2019 for the digital age.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Digital money might generate privacy concerns, authors warned. \u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>The paper also rejected cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, calling them a \u201cthreat to monetary sovereignty.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/crypto\/ecb-says-cash-not-fit-digital-economy-dismisses-cbdc-privacy-concerns\">https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/crypto\/ecb-says-cash-not-fit-digital-economy-dismisses-cbdc-privacy-concerns<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Although some have claimed with a digital euro that:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>No one will be able to control how you use your euros (see\u00a0<a title=\"Permanent Link to \u2018EU proposes giving legal backing to digital euro\u2019\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/eu-proposes-giving-legal-backing-to-digital-euro\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">\u2018EU proposes giving legal backing to digital euro\u2019<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Perhaps it is somewhat true now but the proposed privacy guarantees, according to scripture, will not remain in place. Europe is prophesied to reorganize and turn power over to a dictator the Bible calls the Beast:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>12 &#8220;The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Biblically, moves toward a digital euro appear to be a step towards &#8216;666&#8217; control.<\/p>\n<p>Others realize that control looks to be the objective as the following suggest:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2>The digital euro could usher in total state control<\/h2>\n<p>April 20, 2023<\/p>\n<p>CBDC stands for \u201cCentral Bank Digital Currency.\u201d PR consultants and journalists prefer to use the term \u201cdigital euro,\u201d\u00a0 &#8230; behind all of this, total surveillance awaits.<\/p>\n<p>The ECB\u2019s planned\u00a0<a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.welt.de\/kultur\/plus244867036\/EZB-Mit-der-digitalen-Waehrung-droht-die-totale-Ueberwachung.html\">digital euro<\/a> works like Bitcoin on the basis of blockchain technology, but with a few key differences. &#8230; the blockchain on which the digital euro is based is not public and is managed centrally. All transactions go through the European Central Bank (ECB) network, which means there is no transparency whatsoever. Already, no one really knows how many euros are in circulation because they can be printed at will by the ECB. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In the future, each of us will have a personally assigned account with the central bank. Every transaction can be tracked by the central bank and its associated authorities. The authorities can and will collect information about anyone who sends money to your wallet, who you send money to, how much money you spend, when you spend it, where you spend it, and on what. The authorities will know how often you go to the hairdresser, whether you have a subscription to the gym, whether you like to eat bananas, and how much money you spend on cat food. <a href=\"https:\/\/rmx.news\/germany\/the-digital-euro-could-usher-in-total-state-control\/\">https:\/\/rmx.news\/germany\/the-digital-euro-could-usher-in-total-state-control\/<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>The Danger Lurking Behind Government Digital Currency<\/h2>\n<p>The fact that \u201conly\u201d the government will have access to transaction information should not be comforting. Many people use cash in transactions exactly because they want the transaction to remain anonymous. Governments don\u2019t like things they can\u2019t control, and that\u2019s a big impetus for the war on cash.<\/p>\n<p>The government can easily track digital payments made with its own digital currency. 03\/01\/21 <a href=\"https:\/\/schiffgold.com\/key-gold-news\/the-danger-lurking-behind-government-digital-currency\/\">https:\/\/schiffgold.com\/key-gold-news\/the-danger-lurking-behind-government-digital-currency\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Biblically, it is certain that massive state control over buying and selling will come to Europe (cf. Revelation 13:16-18)&#8211; as I have written for many years, some type of electronic currency will be involved. Other prophecies also point to persecution and censorship.<\/p>\n<p>For years, Europe has been taking steps moving towards control and surveillance, including that of buying and selling.<\/p>\n<p>Back in November 2018, the European Union announced it would spend a billion euros on a quantum computer and several billion more on related matters (see <a title=\"Permanent Link to EU to spend one billion euros on quantum tech to compete with USA and China; France\u2019s Macron wants European military spending to go to European firms; \u2018Europe Must Rebel\u2019\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/eu-to-spend-one-billion-euros-on-quantum-tech-to-compete-with-usa-and-china-frances-macron-wants-european-military-spending-to-go-to-european-firms-europe-must-rebel\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">EU to spend one billion euros on quantum tech to compete with USA and China; France\u2019s Macron wants European military spending to go to European firms; \u2018Europe Must Rebel\u2019<\/a>). This will assist with surveillance.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2020, the European Union (EU) unveiled its Digital Services Act. I warned it had totalitarian implications then (see <a title=\"Permanent Link to \u2018EU \u2018regrets\u2019 new US tariffs\u2019 &amp; \u2018EU Unveils New Rules to Curb Technology Companies\u2019\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/eu-unveils-new-rules-to-curb-technology-companies\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">\u2018EU \u2018regrets\u2019 new US tariffs\u2019 &amp; \u2018EU Unveils New Rules to Curb Technology Companies\u2019<\/a>) and earlier this year (see <a title=\"Permanent Link to IL: Censor The Internet Act: EU Agrees to Expand Online Censorship With \u2018Digital Services Act\u2019\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/il-censor-the-internet-act-eu-agrees-to-expand-online-censorship-with-digital-services-act\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">IL: Censor The Internet Act: EU Agrees to Expand Online Censorship With \u2018Digital Services Act\u2019<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The EU keeps pushing faster and faster for monitoring and censorship.<\/p>\n<p>Europe wants to set the standards for digital tech for the world as the <em>euobserver<\/em> reported: <a href=\"https:\/\/euobserver.com\/democracy\/154207\">https:\/\/euobserver.com\/democracy\/154207<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Setting the standards will also lead to more controls and, ultimately, contribute to the actual apocalypse.<\/p>\n<p>Consider:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>WEF-star, The Netherlands, meanwhile is marching full steam ahead in the opposite direction. If Finance Minister Sigrid Kaag has her way, all transactions over 100 euros will be monitored by the banks in the future \u2013 a massive invasion of privacy. In addition, unsurprisingly, the minister is campaigning for the introduction of the digital euro.\u00a0 &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>ECB boss and WEF foundation board member Christine Lagarde has been harping on about the advance of foreign corporations in European payment transactions.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/freewestmedia.com\/2022\/11\/14\/cancelling-cash\/\">https:\/\/freewestmedia.com\/2022\/11\/14\/cancelling-cash\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Dutch Finance Minister, Sigrid Kaag has a close connection to the World Economic Forum&#8211;so despite some warning of dangers, the trend is towards a digital euro.<\/p>\n<p>Although various ones in the EU are warning against various controls and claiming to push for rights and privacy, the biblical reality is that Europe will become totalitarian itself (Revelation 13; see also <a title=\"Permanent Link to EU summits to push for \u2018European industry strategy\u2019 and \u2018proper\u2019 thinking\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/eu-summits-to-push-for-european-industry-strategy-and-proper-thinking\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">EU summits to push for \u2018European industry strategy\u2019 and \u2018proper\u2019 thinking<\/a> and <a title=\"Permanent Link to EU proposes billions for \u2018Digital Europe\u2019 surveillance: This would assist 666\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/eu-proposes-billions-for-digital-europe-surveillance-this-would-assist-666\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">EU proposes billions for \u2018Digital Europe\u2019 surveillance: This would assist 666<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Item number 13 of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/2023prophecies.htm\">23 items to prophetically watch in 2023\u00a0<\/a> was titled <em>CBDC and 666<\/em>. Related to that, last year I wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"style4\">While 2023 will not see a cashless world, expect to see more movements towards monitorable payments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Expect to see more steps related to Central Bank Digital Currencies in 2023.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is happening.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Europe wants to dominate big tech itself. It is working on many ways to bypass the USA (e.g. <a title=\"Permanent Link to Der Spiegel says Europe needs to employ \u2018clever resistance\u2019 as it works towards a post-USA world\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/der-spiegel-says-europe-needs-to-employ-clever-resistance-as-it-works-towards-a-post-usa-world\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">Der Spiegel says Europe needs to employ \u2018clever resistance\u2019 as it works towards a post-USA world<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Plus, it has already taken various steps in order to do so.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible shows that a European, totalitarian dictator will rise up (Revelation 13, 17:12-13)&#8211;and this will NOT end well for the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39), the Middle East (Daniel 11:40-43), or Europe itself (Daniel 11:44-45; Revelation 17:14; Revelation 18).<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Book of Revelation, also called the Apocalypse, has the following prophecy:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.<\/p>\n<p>18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
