COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n The Wall Street Journal <\/em>reported the following yesterday:<\/p>\n As if Things Weren’t Bad Enough, Russian Professor Predicts End of U.S.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In Moscow, Igor Panarin’s Forecasts Are All the Rage; America ‘Disintegrates’ in 2010<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Wall Street Journal<\/strong> – Dec 29, 2008<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n MOSCOW — For a decade, Russian academic Igor Panarin has been predicting the U.S. will fall apart in 2010. For most of that time, he admits, few took his argument — that an economic and moral collapse will trigger a civil war and the eventual breakup of the U.S. — very seriously. Now he’s found an eager audience: Russian state media.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In recent weeks, he’s been interviewed as much as twice a day about his predictions. “It’s a record,” says Prof. Panarin. “But I think the attention is going to grow even stronger.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Prof. Panarin, 50 years old, is not a fringe figure. A former KGB analyst, he is dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s academy for future diplomats. He is invited to Kremlin receptions, lectures students, publishes books, and appears in the media as an expert on U.S.-Russia relations…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n A polite and cheerful man with a buzz cut, Mr. Panarin insists he does not dislike Americans. But he warns that the outlook for them is dire.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n “There’s a 55-45% chance right now that disintegration will occur,” he says. “One could rejoice in that process,” he adds, poker-faced. “But if we’re talking reasonably, it’s not the best scenario — for Russia.” Though Russia would become more powerful on the global stage, he says, its economy would suffer because it currently depends heavily on the dollar and on trade with the U.S.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar. Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into six pieces — with Alaska reverting to Russian control.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In addition to increasing coverage in state media, which are tightly controlled by the Kremlin, Mr. Panarin’s ideas are now being widely discussed among local experts…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Mr. Panarin’s apocalyptic vision “reflects a very pronounced degree of anti-Americanism in Russia today,” says Vladimir Pozner, a prominent TV journalist in Russia. “It’s much stronger than it was in the Soviet Union.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Mr. Pozner and other Russian commentators and experts on the U.S. dismiss Mr. Panarin’s predictions. “Crazy ideas are not usually discussed by serious people,” says Sergei Rogov, director of the government-run Institute for U.S. and Canadian Studies, who thinks Mr. Panarin’s theories don’t hold water…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n At the end of the presentation, he says many delegates asked him to autograph copies of the map showing a dismembered U.S.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n He based the forecast on classified data supplied to him by FAPSI analysts, he says. He predicts that economic, financial and demographic trends will provoke a political and social crisis in the U.S. When the going gets tough, he says, wealthier states will withhold funds from the federal government and effectively secede from the union. Social unrest up to and including a civil war will follow. The U.S. will then split along ethnic lines, and foreign powers will move in.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n California will form the nucleus of what he calls “The Californian Republic,” and will be part of China or under Chinese influence. Texas will be the heart of “The Texas Republic,” a cluster of states that will go to Mexico or fall under Mexican influence. Washington, D.C., and New York will be part of an “Atlantic America” that may join the European Union. Canada will grab a group of Northern states Prof. Panarin calls “The Central North American Republic.” Hawaii, he suggests, will be a protectorate of Japan or China, and Alaska will be subsumed into Russia.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n “It would be reasonable for Russia to lay claim to Alaska; it was part of the Russian Empire for a long time.” A framed satellite image of the Bering Strait that separates Alaska from Russia like a thread hangs from his office wall. “It’s not there for no reason,” he says with a sly grin.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Interest in his forecast revived this fall when he published an article in Izvestia, one of Russia’s biggest national dailies. In it, he reiterated his theory, called U.S. foreign debt “a pyramid scheme,” and predicted China and Russia would usurp Washington’s role as a global financial regulator.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Americans hope President-elect Barack Obama “can work miracles,” he wrote. “But when spring comes, it will be clear that there are no miracles.” <\/span><\/span>http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB123051100709638419.html<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Of course, the Russian professor is in error.\u00a0 But the idea that the USA’s days are numbered is starting to be recognized by more and more around the world.\u00a0 It is also true that Mexico is likely to get some additional territory once the USA is gone (though I generally do not agree with the professor’s assessment of the USA split as he proposed as the Bible indicates more of an annihilation of many parts, which would also affect Canada).<\/p>\n Once past a certain debt tipping point, the USA will be no more per Habakkuk 2:6-8 and invaded and divided per Daniel 11:39.\u00a0 As I have quoted Habakkuk 2 many times here recently, let’s focus a bit more on Daniel 11:39 today.\u00a0 Notice what God inspired Daniel to write:<\/p>\n Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:39).<\/p>\n The “he” above is the King of the North<\/a>. The United States (and to a lessor degree, its Anglo-allies) has the “strongest fortresses” (the strongest military) in the world today.\u00a0 I have speculated in the past that the “foreign god” is a new religious order of a more ecumenical form of Catholicism.\u00a0 And notice that the King of the North<\/a> is to “divide the land for gain” (though not quite as the Russian professor has laid out–as much of the current USA will be dominated by, not simply a part of, the final European Beast power).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In Lamentations 4:16, the Bible states:<\/p>\n The face of the LORD scattered them; He no longer regards them.<\/p>\n The term translated as \u201cscattered them\u201d is the same Hebrew word (Strong\u2019s <\/em>2505) used in vs. Daniel 11:39 translated as \u201cdivide\u201d. It is also the same word used in Ezekiel 5:1-4 where the hair (apparently representing the U.S.A., etc.) is divided.<\/p>\n Furthermore, look at Lamentations 5:4-8:<\/p>\n 4 We pay for the water we drink, And our wood comes at a price. 5 They pursue at our heels; We labor and have no rest. 6 We have given our hand to the Egyptians And the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread. 7 Our fathers sinned and are no more, But we bear their iniquities. 8 Servants rule over us; There is none to deliver us from their hand\u201d.<\/p>\n Notice that the above passage mentions Assyria, which is who God will use to punish the certain descendants of Israel, such as the U.S.A., etc.<\/p>\n It may be of some interest to note that the Hebrew word translated as \u201cgain\u201d (Strong\u2019s <\/em>4242) in Daniel 11:39 is the term translated as \u201cprice\u201d in Lamentations 5:4. The word translated as \u201crule over them\u201d in v. 8, is the same Hebrew word that is translated as \u201crule over many\u201d (Strong\u2019s<\/em> 4910) in Daniel 11:39. Although this is not totally conclusive, Lamentations 5 is further scriptural evidence that the United States, etc. may be attacked in Daniel 11:39.<\/p>\n And that is when the Great Tribulation would begin. This is the time of Jacob\u2019s trouble\u201d (Jeremiah 30:7).<\/p>\n For those who disbelieve that the Europeans can do this, notice that the Bible states that the Assyrians, whose descendants are in Europe, will not intend to destroy, but will do it anyway:<\/p>\n 5 Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger Thus, despite not intending to destroy, the Europeans will.<\/p>\n And while the end of the USA and its Anglo-allies is coming, it will not be quite as the Russian professor stated (it will be worse).\u00a0 Nor can the end come in 2009 or 2010, but it may just a few years later.<\/p>\n Several articles of possibly related interest may include:<\/em><\/p>\n Why Prophecy?
