The Green-led ministry is hoping to save time in the arms-buildup, by curtailing democratic processes. Last April, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) declared the \u201ctime factor\u201d to be the essential criterion in his reform of military procurement. In the current procurement reform, transatlantic voices are gaining the upper hand, favoring a rapid upgrading in the Bundeswehr\u2019s capabilities, at the expense of the promotion of an independent European arms industry. This is provoking new tensions with France. Germany is conducting its arms buildup largely within the NATO framework. The military alliance has recently confirmed its armament policy at its Vilnius summit. The NATO members agreed on further measures allowing them \u201cto respond faster and at a greater scale.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>No Time for Parliamentary Control<\/h3>\n<p>For major arms projects, the German government is still currently dependent on approval by the Bundestag\u2019s budget committee. In an expertise by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, advisors of Minister Robert Habeck have concluded that parliamentary controls tend to \u201cdrag out\u201d the procurement procedure,[1] and should thus be abandoned. In addition, the ministry is opposing privileged consideration for European arms manufactures in awarding contracts. \u201cProviders from other NATO countries, particularly from the USA,\u201d could be excluded under current rules, the experts note. The rapid and concrete upgrading of the Bundeswehr\u2019s capabilities would, however, be more important than the promotion of an independent European arms industry through special protectionist rules. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The German defense ministry had already arrived at similar conclusions in April. According to the ministry, the Bundeswehr must again be enabled to fight \u201cin larger formations.\u201d[2] &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Whereas transatlantic hardliners want to arm Germany in order to relieve the USA in European conflicts and reinforce the transatlantic block, supporters of a strategic autonomy seek a militarily stronger Germany at the center of the EU, which is capable of shedding its dependence on the USA.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yes, there are debates in Germany about it being more supportive of the USA militarily or that it should lead an independent European force.<\/p>\n<p>Well, biblically, we know Europe will end up with a &#8220;great army&#8221; (Daniel 11:25) and many ships (Daniel 11:40)&#8211;and perhaps some of those ships will be air ships.<\/p>\n<p>Biblically, we also know that Europe will reorganize (Revelation 17:12) to become a dictatorship ruled by one the Bible calls the Beast (Revelation 17:13)&#8211;who is also called the King of the North in Daniel 11.<\/p>\n<p>We also know that the USA will be destroyed by a German-dominated European Beast power:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>5 &#8220;Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hand is My indignation. 6 I will send him against an ungodly nation, And against the people of My wrathI will give him charge, To seize the spoil, to take the prey, And to tread them down like the mire of the streets. 7 Yet he does not mean so, Nor does his heart think so; But it is in his heart to destroy,And cut off not a few nations. 8 For he says,&#8217; Are not my princes altogether kings? 9 Is not Calno like Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria like Damascus? 10 As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, Whose carved images excelled those of Jerusalem and Samaria, 11 As I have done to Samaria and her idols, Shall I not do also to Jerusalem and her idols?'&#8221; (Isaiah 10:5-11)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The reference to Assyria relates to Germany (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/germany-in-the-bible.htm\">Germany&#8217;s Assyrian Roots Throughout History<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/germany-in-prophecy.htm\">Germany in Biblical and Roman Catholic Prophecy<\/a>), while the references to Samaria relate to the USA (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/samaritan.htm\">Spiritual Samaritans: Old and New<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Notice also that\u00a0the Bible shows that this European King of the North will destroy those who are perceived to have the strongest military might and then somehow divide up their land:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:39).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The &#8220;strongest fortresses&#8221; at this time belong to the USA&#8211;and it will be defeated!<\/p>\n<p>Daniel 11:24 also seems to parallel this as it teaches that the King of the North has plans against the strongholds and succeeds against the prosperous.<\/p>\n<p>We know that the Beast power will be worshipped by all the world:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>3&#8230; And all the world marveled and followed the beast<\/strong>. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast<strong>, saying, &#8220;Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?<\/strong>&#8221; 5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear (Revelation 13:3-9).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>One of the reasons the world will follow the Beast is precisely because the Beast&#8217;s takeover of the USA was beyond what most thought was possible.<\/p>\n<p>As far as the military goes, last year Germany pledged to spend more than any country, other than the USA (and perhaps China).
