The Super Blue Moon of 2023 is just a day away.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday (Aug. 30), one of the biggest and brightest moons of the year will rise. This full moon is referred to as a\u00a0Blue Moon<\/u><\/a>, a term that can represent one of two things: Either the third\u00a0full moon<\/u><\/a>\u00a0in a season that has four full moons; or, more commonly, the second of two full moons that fall in a calendar month. And just like the previous full moon on Aug. 1, this Blue Moon will also be a “supermoon<\/u><\/a>,” a popular term for a full moon that occurs when our natural satellite is closer to\u00a0Earth<\/u><\/a>, making it appear just slightly larger in the sky.<\/p>\n

But it is not actually supposed to be blue:<\/p>\n

Well, unfortunately, the moon won\u2019t actually appear blue (unless there happens to be smoke or dust in the sky, which can potentially cause it to appear blue-ish, according to NASA). Rather, the \u201cblue\u201d part of the title simply means it\u2019s the second full moon in a single month. Or, as Shauna Edson, astronomy education specialist at the National Air and Space Museum, put it in an email: \u201cIt\u2019s just a fun coincidence with our calendar\u201d and doesn\u2019t really mean anything astronomically.<\/p>\n

However, the \u201csuper\u201d part of the title does have some<\/em>\u00a0astronomical significance, she says. Because our moon doesn\u2019t travel around the Earth in a perfect circle but in an ellipse, it\u2019s sometimes closer or farther away from us. When the moon is full and at its closest position to us, astronomers call it a \u201csuper moon,\u201d which happens about three or four times a year.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Talmud (Hulin 60B) describes this as a product of Creation. It does so through the seeming contradiction in the Biblical verse describing the creation of the sun and the moon. …<\/p>\n

Sara Yehudit Schneider, an author and director of\u00a0A Still Small Voice\u00a0<\/em>Torah teaching institution, believes the appearance of a larger-than-normal moon is a necessary precursor to the Messianic era. Though a supermoon is a purely astronomical appearance, it embodies a God-based feminism that was hinted at in the Story of Creation, and the moon\u2019s phases are a constant reminder of mankind\u2019s Messianic mission.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is an aspect of the\u00a0geula<\/em>\u00a0(redemption) process that is a repairing of the moon, which basically means the rising of the feminine,\u201d Schneider told\u00a0Israel365 News<\/em>. \u201cIn Jewish symbology, the masculine archetype conflates the sun and the feminine with the moon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe moon was diminished as part of the creation, surrendering her throne,\u201d Schneider explained. \u201cThe rest of history, from Creation to Messiah, is the moon reattaining her fullness of stature. The bliss of the messianic era is when the masculine and feminine meet face-to-face, completely equal, as represented by the Cherubim on the ark of the covenant.\u201d …<\/p>\n

No, there is no relationship between the appearance of the next blue supermoon and the return of the Messiah.<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Because many of the signs that Jesus said we would see prior to His return have not yet happened.<\/p>\n

Notice the following:<\/p>\n

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, \u201cTell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?\u201d<\/p>\n

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: \u201cTake heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, \u2018I am the Christ,\u2019 and will deceive many. (Matthew 24:3-5)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Just like you, the disciples wanted to know. But also notice that Jesus said to be careful about being deceived, including by people who teach that Jesus is the Christ.<\/p>\n

The biblical reality is that necessary events that Jesus and Daniel mentioned that will allow for that have not happened.<\/p>\n

For some scriptural proof, let\u2019s look at the account in Matthew 24:<\/p>\n

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: \u201cTake heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, \u2018I am the Christ,\u2019 and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.<\/p>\n

9 \u201cThen they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name\u2019s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.<\/p>\n

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.<\/p>\n

15 \u201cTherefore when you see the \u2018abomination of desolation,\u2019 spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place\u201d (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 \u201cthen let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (Matthew 24:4-16)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There is no possibility that the Great Tribulation can happen in 2023 and those who rely on the Bible have realized this. It is only those who overlook scripture and rely on their own views and\/or false traditions who make the mistake of thinking that the Great Tribulation can, or could, happen in 2023.<\/p>\n

Why do I state this?<\/p>\n

Jesus pointed to Daniel.<\/p>\n

Thus, one reason that the Great Tribulation will not begin yet is that one known as the final King of the North in Daniel 11 needs to rise up.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that the coming \u201cKing of the North<\/a>\u201d will make a deal of some sort with one called the\u00a0King of the South<\/a>\u00a0just before the appointed time of the end:<\/p>\n

27 Both these kings\u2019 hearts shall be bent on evil, and they shall speak lies at the same table; but it shall not prosper, for the end will still be at the appointed time (Daniel 11:27).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Daniel chapter 11 tells much about the end times and it involves both a\u00a0King of the South<\/a>\u00a0and a\u00a0King of the North<\/a>. And while there was a president of the South and a president of the North in the Union for the Mediterranean (see\u00a0Deal Leading to Psalm 83?)<\/a>, these individuals have not held the type of power (nor prerogatives) of the prophesied\u00a0King of the North<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0King of the South.<\/a>\u00a0Nor will the current head of the post-Lisbon European Union, likely be the final\u00a0King of the North<\/a>\u00a0as she does not seem to fit that description.<\/p>\n

Since the Great Tribulation will not start before there is an actual\u00a0King of the South<\/a>\u00a0and an actual final\u00a0King of the North\u00a0<\/a>\u2013it is not yet.<\/p>\n

But is there any relationship between the moon and Jesus return?<\/p>\n

Yes, there is according to Jesus:<\/p>\n

29 \u201cImmediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:29-31)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Some who believe in a \u201cpre-tribulation rapture\u201d have suggested that the moon turning into blood is a sign that Jesus is to return. And while Jesus will return, notice that the time period is AFTER the tribulation according to what Jesus taught.<\/p>\n

Since the Great Tribulation has not begun (hence it is not yet over), no a supermoon, blue, red, or otherwise, is not a current Messianic sign.<\/p>\n

That said, Jesus will return. And probably within a decade.<\/p>\n
