{"id":83806,"date":"2023-09-23T14:00:44","date_gmt":"2023-09-23T22:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/?p=83806"},"modified":"2023-09-23T09:40:46","modified_gmt":"2023-09-23T17:40:46","slug":"india-middle-east-europe-economic-corridor-imec-to-connect-india-and-parts-of-asia-to-europe-via-the-middle-east-for-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/india-middle-east-europe-economic-corridor-imec-to-connect-india-and-parts-of-asia-to-europe-via-the-middle-east-for-trade\/","title":{"rendered":"India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) to connect India and parts of Asia to Europe via the Middle East for trade"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Great Graphic to understand India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today, we the leaders of the United States, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Italy and the European Union announced a Memorandum of Understanding committing to work together to\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ib8EnzYC9z\">pic.twitter.com\/ib8EnzYC9z<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ravi Karkara (@ravikarkara) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ravikarkara\/status\/1701264406321971407?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 11, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<a href=\"\/cogwriter.htm\">COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are excerpts from a German report on the G20&#8217;s India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor which it hopes will counter the influence of\u00a0 China&#8217;s Belt &amp; Road Initiative (also called the Silk Road Project):<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"sc-eflkNB LfIHX sc-czCoYo hdDTRO\">New India-EU trade route: Bringing the Gulf states closer?<\/h2>\n<p>23 September 2023<\/p>\n<p>For the Saudi Arabian investment minister, it&#8217;s a project deserving of superlatives. <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/can-new-india-europe-middle-east-corridor-counter-china\/a-66799232\">The new trade route<\/a>, which will go from India to the Middle East, via Europe, will be just as important as the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/asian-fusion-revives-gdansks-hanseatic-roots\/a-51519352\">Silk Road<\/a> or the Spice Route were historically, Khalid al-Falih enthused in September while at the first India-Saudi Arabia Investment Forum\u00a0in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p>It was at the G20 summit earlier in the month, that the US, the European Union, <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/islamophobia-controversy-why-india-cannot-risk-a-fallout-with-the-gulf\/a-62082063\">India<\/a>, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other member states declared they wanted to create an India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, or IMEC, which will include a rail link, as well as an electricity cable, a hydrogen pipeline and a high-speed data cable, according to a document prepared by the European Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The planned corridor would run around 4,800 kilometers (2,982 miles) and will have two separate wings: The eastern wing will connect India with the Gulf states and the northern one will go from the Gulf states into Europe. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The plan is a historic one, according to Saudi investment minister al-Falih. &#8220;People talk about the silk route, the spice route of India through the Arabian Peninsula, but this is going to be more significant and relevant because it&#8217;s going to be about new energy, data, connectivity, human resources, aviation routes and it&#8217;s about aligning countries that are of the same mind and same vision,&#8221; he said at the G20 meeting. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>On one hand, in promoting this trade corridor, the White House is trying to counter China&#8217;s own ambitious <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/china-raps-italy-for-malicious-criticism-of-belt-and-road\/a-66438871\">Belt and Road<\/a> Infrastructure initiative, said Christian Hanelt, an expert on the Middle East at the Bertelsmann Foundation.\u00a0On the other hand, the US is also trying to bring its partners in the Gulf closer. &#8220;The US is trying to establish a new kind of geostrategic order through this transport corridor, into which the Middle East will be integrated,&#8221; Hanelt told DW.<\/p>\n<p>But this is likely to be a tricky undertaking, he added. Because the countries that are to be signatories to the IMEC \u2014 other than the Gulf states, Israel will also apparently be involved \u2014 are not really working according to the old geopolitical order which lined the US&#8217; allies up against other groups headed by, for example, China or Russia.\u00a0 &#8230; both Saudi Arabia and the UAE are still cooperating with Russia, despite the war in Ukraine, and that they say they want to become part of the BRICS group of emerging economies \u2014 the group is named for its primary members, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, and looks likely to welcome new members from next year.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s clear that these actions are part of the Gulf states&#8217; wish to diversify their international relationships &#8230; Saudi Arabia is also happy to see <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/chinas-economic-ambitions-a-huge-draw-for-saudi-arabia\/a-65889319\">more investment from China<\/a>, &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to political considerations, there are also the economics to think of. &#8220;The move towards renewable energies is a huge challenge for them,&#8221; Hanelt said. &#8220;For one thing, they want to ensure their oil exports for the next 20 or 30 years. And at the same time, they want to be leaders in the transformation towards new energies. If you watch the video in the tweet at the beginning of this post, you will see the proposed routes, This plan basically helps better connect Europe to Asia and the Middle East in order to improve trade between THEM, not the USA.<\/p>\n<p>Europe already has its Global Gateway project, and this is basically another aspect of it.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding Europe, IMEC, and its Global Gateway, a reader sent me a link to the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2>Berlin, Brussels and Washington plan traffic corridor from Europe via the Middle East to India. The project is intended to rival the New Silk Road and bind India tighter to the West.<\/h2>\n<div class=\"date\">\n<div class=\"date_day\">12 SEP 2023<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<div class=\"lead\">\n<p><span class=\"city\">BRUSSELS\/WASHINGTON\/NEW DELHI<\/span> (Own report) \u2013 Germany is participating in plans to build a transport corridor all the way to India, in cooperation with the EU and USA. According to a decision taken by Washington, Brussels, Berlin and the governments of other countries on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi, an India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) is to link Europe and South Asia. It will be a combination of a rail and shipping corridor and include the construction of submarine cables. The delivery of green hydrogen from Israel to Europe is also planned. The project is designed to compete with China\u2019s New Silk Road, as well as to bind New Delhi tighter to the EU and pit it against Beijing. IMEC is the fourth major infrastructure project launched by the EU and USA to diminish the importance of the New Silk Road. Two are considered failures, one (\u201cGlobal Gateway\u201d) is advancing only slowly. &#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Global Gateway<\/h3>\n<p>Currently the EU is pursuing its most recent infrastructure program, that it had launched in late 2021 under the label Global Gateway. This project is also not making as much headway as Brussels would have liked. A year after the program was launched, observers were complaining that until now, mainly long-standing development policy measures are being relabeled \u201cGlobal Gateway\u201d, while others refer to the project as a \u201cbillion-euro bluff.\u201d[6] Brussels has since initiated a whole series of other projects. Alongside improvement projects for energy and transport infrastructure,[7] these projects are particularly aimed at strengthening the EU\u2019s access to vital raw materials for the energy transition \u2013 from lithium to green hydrogen.[8] In effect, the Global Gateway is largely a program to satisfy Europe\u2019s needs in raw materials. The EU Commission boasts that 44 of its 87 infrastructure expansion flagship projects launched before August 2023, were located on the African continent. &#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC)<\/h3>\n<p>In the wings of the G20 Summit, the USA and EU launched their next infrastructure initiative: the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). Besides the United States and the EU, especially Germany, France and Italy, along with India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are participating. The plan is to construct a transport corridor from India via the Middle East to Europe. A first, eastern corridor will connect India by sea to the Arabian Peninsula. A second northern corridor will connect the countries of the Arabian Peninsula to Europe. The second corridor will integrate Jordan and Israel.[11] The corridor is conceived to link rail and ship transport, i.e., to transit train-delivered goods by ship between Indian and Arabian ports. This will be supplemented by submarine cables for power and data transmission. The delivery of green hydrogen from Israel to Europe is also in planning. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.german-foreign-policy.com\/en\/news\/detail\/9344\">https:\/\/www.german-foreign-policy.com\/en\/news\/detail\/9344<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Note that while the USA is involved, none of the road or railway projects connect to the USA, but basically Europe to Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The EU project is ambitious. It is intended to help ensure, that it, and not China or the USA will gain dominance. This is strategically interesting in that Europe is not intending to spend as much as China, but by being more selective about where to spend its funds, it will mainly fill in \u2018gaps\u2019 that it expects will benefit it the most. Notice that North America is NOT part of the connectivity plans.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, unlike the Chinese plan, the European one involves infrastructure around data and communications technology.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible shows that economically as the \u201cdaughter of Babylon,\u201d Europe will rise up in this century\u2013(cf. Revelation chapters 17 &amp; 18)\u2013and this Global Gateway project is another step in that direction.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>Consider that while China\u2019s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) itself will face various obstacles, it looks to be supportive of some biblical prophecies as roads normally work two ways. China is connecting to Asia, Africa, and Europe, hence this also connects Europe to Africa and Asia, including China.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Since the Bible teaches that it will be Europe that will dominate world trade, the BRI and Europe\u2019s Global Gateway look to be ways that Europe will get access to markets in Asia and Africa. Roads work both ways. Furthermore, Europe has a long history of trading with Asia and Latin America and is biblically prophesied to continue to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Consider that the Bible teaches the following about an end time European power:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"verse-number\">2 \u2026 Babylon \u2026 3<\/span> <span class=\"verse-3\"> For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury. Now, let me add that less than a decade after the above was published, the WCG publicly announced that Eastern Europe would also be part of this European power. And within a decade of that, Eastern European nations began to officially join in with what has become the European Union (more in Eastern Europe have also applied to become members of the EU). And, in population, the European Union already is actually much larger than that of the USA. The Global Gateway project and the EU&#8217;s support of the G20 connectivity goals are steps intended to help Europe rise up.
