We&#8217;re deciding whether we&#8217;re going back to being a democratic country,&#8221; was student activist Julia Landowska&#8217;s stark take on this weekend&#8217;s vote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;This is our last call, to go to the election and fight for a better future in Poland.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"teads-adCall\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The event she helped organise was held under the slogan <i class=\"ssrcss-xbdn93-ItalicText e5tfeyi2\">In My Day, Things Will Be Better<\/i>. &#8230; many Poles are now hailing the election on 15 October as the most important since 1989, when Solidarity candidates swept the board in the first partially-free vote since communist rule. &#8230;<\/p>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;PiS have a good programme for us young people and for my children. I have twins and they&#8217;ve got a good programme for our future,&#8221; party activist Monica explained, referring to the 500 zloty (\u00a395) monthly child benefit the government now pays.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It is set to rise to 800 next year if PiS win.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;In Poland, this amount can solve many things,&#8221; her husband added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Neither accepted the opposition&#8217;s fears for the future of democracy in Poland. &#8220;Democracy is good for us,&#8221; Monica said &#8211; and she wants to stay in the EU.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The pair both talked about security, including the government&#8217;s slogan that it is &#8220;protecting the future of Poles&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We&#8217;re not ready to accept immigrants. Muslims,&#8221; Monica clarified, adding that Poland had already taken in &#8220;a lot of Ukrainians&#8221;, meaning those who came in 2022 as refugees. &#8230;<\/p>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">In this week&#8217;s testy election debate on state TV, Donald Tusk again referred to the government as &#8220;evil&#8221; and called the prime minister Pinocchio.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">PM Mateusz Morawiecki shrugged him, and others, off as a &#8220;band of redheads&#8221;, in reference to Mr Tusk&#8217;s hair. His party consistently claims that the Civic Coalition represents &#8220;foreign interests&#8221;, painting Donald Tusk as a traitor and a stooge of Berlin. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-67065204\">https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-67065204<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>11 October 2023<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"sc-eflkNB LfIHX sc-czCoYo hdDTRO\">Poland: Will anti-German rhetoric help PiS stay in power?<\/h2>\n<p>If Poland&#8217;s <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/law-and-justice-pis\/t-66789976\">ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party<\/a> is to be believed, no matter what the problem \u2014 from migration to security \u2014 Berlin is always to blame.<\/p>\n<p>Hardly a day goes by without the word &#8220;Niemcy&#8221; (the Germans) being used\u00a0in a negative context on Polish state television.<\/p>\n<p>When <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/poland\/t-19070837\">Poland<\/a> <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/poland-and-hungary-block-eu-statement-on-migration\/live-67015625\">blocked the EU&#8217;s migration package at the EU summit in Granada last week<\/a>, the banner &#8220;German migration pact\u00a0and absurd enforced solidarity&#8221; was used on Polish state TV for several days. It was an implied criticism of Germany&#8217;s push for an <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/european-union-eu\/t-17440066\">EU<\/a>-wide solution to dealing with the influx of refugees.<\/p>\n<p>For quite some time now, Polish state media have been toeing the government&#8217;s line and adopting the ruling party&#8217;s <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/polands-ruling-party-pis-posts-anti-german-election-ad\/a-66780455\">anti-German rhetoric<\/a>. The word &#8220;German&#8221; has become a byword for dominant, bad, malicious and anti-Polish.<\/p>\n<h3>Kaczynski rails against Germany<\/h3>\n<p>Out on the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/poland-pledges-and-patriotic-slogans-as-campaign-heats-up\/a-66790568\">campaign<\/a> trail, PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski has been issuing warnings about close relations with the country&#8217;s western neighbor, saying: &#8220;The Germans look down on us.&#8221; &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is the dirtiest <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/whats-at-stake-in-polands-fall-election\/a-66501627\">election<\/a> campaign in Poland&#8217;s history,&#8221; says political scientist David Gregosz, head of the Warsaw office of Germany&#8217;s Christian Democrat-affiliated Konrad Adenauer Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Gregosz told DW that the Polish government is &#8220;obsessively attacking its own partners, such as Germany and <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/ukraine\/t-17295382\">Ukraine<\/a>, for purely domestic political reasons.&#8221; He wonders &#8220;how the PiS government intends to return to a pragmatic cooperation with its neighbors&#8221; in the event of an election victory.<\/p>\n<h3>PiS labels Tusk a &#8216;German agent&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p>PiS&#8217;s attacks on its main rival, Donald Tusk, are just as scathing. Tusk, a former Polish PM and a liberal, is seen as being pro-Germany. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki recently called Tusk &#8220;the biggest pest in Polish politics.&#8221; &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The outcome of the election will also determine the extent to which the anti-German rhetoric will do long-term damage to German-Polish relations,&#8221; says Kai Olaf Lang, a Poland expert at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Lang told DW that while relations would not be idyllic with Tusk as PM; &#8220;a new beginning and an objective debate would be possible.&#8221; Before that happens, he said, a lot of damage would have to be repaired.<\/p>\n<p>If, however, PiS stays in power, &#8220;the air for the bilateral relationship will get very thin,&#8221; he says. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/poland-will-anti-german-rhetoric-help-pis-stay-in-power\/a-67068280\">https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/poland-will-anti-german-rhetoric-help-pis-stay-in-power\/a-67068280<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Donald Tusk is the former President of the European Council.<\/p>\n<p>As far as Poland and its past goes, consider the following from our free online book:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>The Slavic Peoples<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Slavic peoples tended to descend through those called Sarmatians, <a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\">[i]<\/a> which look to have descended from the biblical Elam and Madai.<a href=\"#_edn2\" name=\"_ednref2\">[ii]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Slavic nations are in lands south and east of the Benelux nations\u2014so consistent with Daniel 8:9, many in Slavic Europe will support the end time European power.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, back in WWII, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Croatia were part of the Axis powers aligned with Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Poland was taken over by Germany early in that war and was basically an occupied nation\u2014so, some Poles fought against Germany. Currently, Poland is considered to have one of the largest and best trained ground armies in Europe.<a href=\"#_edn3\" name=\"_ednref3\">[iii]<\/a>\u00a0&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It should also be pointed out that parts of France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Croatia, as well as essentially all of the Netherlands, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Belgium were part of the so-called \u201cHoly Roman Empire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ednref1\" name=\"_edn1\">[i]<\/a> McNair, Key to Northwest Origins<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ednref2\" name=\"_edn2\">[ii]<\/a> White C. Plain Truth, December 1980).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As some of Poland was part of the old &#8220;Holy Roman Empire,&#8221; do we expect it to be in the final revival of the Roman Empire?<\/p>\n<p>Yes.<\/p>\n<p>But aren&#8217;t there conflicts between the Poles and Germans?<\/p>\n<p>Yes.<\/p>\n<p>Do the Poles and Germans have issues sticking together?<\/p>\n<p>Yes, but having problems like that for Europe were prophesied in the Book of Daniel:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter\u2019s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite the upcoming election in Poland, as well as unity issues within the European Union, the Bible shows that Europe will reorganize and be ruled by a dictator that scripture calls the beast:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>12 \u201cThe ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These ten kings have no kingdom, but are to attain one. Thus, this is a type of reorganization in verse 12. Since they give their power to the Beast in verse 13, this will be the second part of the coming reorganization.\u00a0 The \u201cbeast\u201d is not shown to have much power prior to Revelation 17:12-13.
