In its latest TW News & Prophecy<\/em>, the Living Church of God<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n

Oklahoma\u2019s Cattle Industry Is Drying Up.<\/strong> Much of Oklahoma has had no significant rainfall in more than a year, resulting in zero crop growth. As a consequence, there is virtually no local food for cattle and it must be imported at great cost. Ranchers are selling entire herds that have taken a decade or more to build because they have no other choice. In the words of one expert, ranchers are \u201cselling their factories\u201d\u2014referring to the potential for future cattle production\u2014because they see a bleak future in an industry that, in some cases, has been a family business for generations. As entire herds are sold, if moist weather does return to Oklahoma anytime soon, it would take several years to build back to productive cattle levels again (Drover\u2019s Cattle Netwo rk<\/em>, August 30, 2011). Bible prophecies have long warned that God will punish the Israelite-descended nations if they turn away from Him. Hosea wrote, \u201cTherefore the land will mourn; and everyone who dwells there will waste away with the beasts of the field<\/em> and the birds of the air; even the fish of the sea will be taken away\u2026 because they have ceased obeying the Lord\u201d (Hosea 4:3, 10). Moses also conveyed God\u2019s warning, \u201cif you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments\u2026 your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its produce, nor shall the trees of the land yield their fruit\u201d (Leviticus 26:14-20). As Israelite nations turn away from the laws of God, we are watching these ancient prophecies coming alive in headlines today!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Many parts of the USA are suffering from drought as are parts of Africa<\/a> and other lands. Droughts can contribute to famines, and foods do not grow in fires (like Texas has had–for those less familiar with USA geography, Oklahoma shares its southern border with Texas).<\/p>\n

We may see food inflation and spotty food shortages showing up in parts of the world as early as next month.\u00a0 Sorrows seem to be increasing.<\/p>\n

My 2009 book, 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect<\/a> mentioned the following was about to happen:<\/p>\n

Perhaps the record weather problems can serve as another wake-up call for Americans and others.\u00a0 As my book indicated, weather-related troubles with their related food issues, of course, are biblically expected:<\/p>\n

7…And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:7-8).<\/p>\n

8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Droughts certainly would seem to qualify as “troubles” and we seem to be in the time Jesus called “the beginning of sorrows.”<\/p>\n

And a more terrible hour of trial is coming (Revelation 3:10), and the USA itself (as well as Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand also) will experience significant starvation in its land (cf. Ezekiel 5:15-17).<\/p>\n
